I can't believe I've never reviewed this place! About two years ago I started experiencing chronic tension headaches. At the time I worked, attended class full time, and was the solo caregiver for our infant in the evenings, so I chalked it up to stress. My doctor prescribed me numerous medications, which either left me unbearably drowsy or broken out in hives, with a still throbbing head. I was miserable. On a whim, I decided to get a massage to help with the stress. I hadn't had one in awhile, as my go-to place up on the square went out of business several years ago, and with the addition of a baby since then, my free time was limited. Some friends had recommended Body Works, and while perusing their website, I noticed they offered headache focus massages. I made an appointment and randomly chose Julie as my therapist. Let me say, Julie is AMAZING at what she does. For the first time in almost a year, I finally experienced relief from the constant dull throbbing taking place in my head. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was life changing. The entire time I was in school I made a point to see her about every 3 weeks, and even now that I've graduated, I still go from time to time as needed. I've also had massages from Lori and Christen, and would highly recommend them as well. I think the only thing that would make this place better is if they offered the option for a cat nap after your massage. Simply amazing. It's been awhile since I've had a massage that left me relaxed to the point I couldn't speak afterwards. I've had deep tissue, Swedish, and normal massages in the past but they never were able to get to the root of the problem. I elected to try the Neuromuscular massage for my first visit and I cannot begin to explain how wonderful it was. Joints that were held in place because of tight muscles popped because at last they were released. It'll take a couple more trips to fully relax my knots I've had for years. Best deep tissue massage I've ever had. Martha was my massage therapist and she was professional, strong hands, and fantastic! My boyfriend said same about best massage he has ever had. His therapist's name was Leah and he felt the same way. This will be our new place for total relaxation! I am struggling with the 4 star review, as the massage and service was top notch. I had an all-around wonderful experience. Their online appointment booking is very convenient. I chose a Hot Stone Massage and I'm so very glad I did. I have RA and I'm also very active (Full-time serving job and exercising 4-5 days a week), so heat is my main source of pain relief and comfort. It is $100 for a 75 minute Hot Stone. Very reasonable. Shanthi was my masseuse. She was absolutely fantastic; pleasant attitude, knowledgeable, caring and friendly. I could not have chosen a better place to get my first massage. Haven't tried the massages, but Shamber is amazing! By far, one of the most enjoyable facials I have ever had and mine and my daughters skin looks great! She was very sweet and very easy to work with. She even worked my daughters appt after her normal hours since she was unable to be there until later. This is my opinion from my experience, & I know others have their own. I have given this place 3 tries & each time has been different. 1st w/Abra was good, she listened to my needs, made me feel comfortable & relaxed; talked to me afterward & gave me some tips. 2nd was ok (therapist was quitting in few days), she also made me feel comfortable & relaxed, but shorted me about 15 min.; yesterday was my 3rd visit w/Julie - was not a good experience; I don't even think she really introduced herself, but did ask what my body needs were; the room had so much light coming thru window since they were ordering shades, but didn't bother to temporarily darken it (which I did comment to her about, but she just shrugged it off as no big deal, they had ordered blinds & ask me if I wanted a towel for my eyes) she did not make me feel comfortable nor relaxed; the whole atmosphere was very uncomfortable. She worked on my neck (which was one of the areas I had requested) for, what felt like, an hour of my 90 min massage. Too long! I never really relaxed due to the lighting & hard pressure that was applied.I guess she was doing a deep tissue massage which I really didn't want, but was never asked about how much pressure I liked (usually therapist do). I guess I could have told her. She was never very friendly before, during or after. She didn't meet me in lobby afterward, as the others did here, & everywhere else, I have had a massage. She did leave a cup of water with receptionist. Receptionist is very nice & listened to my concern about lighting & gave me ideas for requests next time. I left feeling worse than when I went, felt a negative feeling all evening & still feeling it today. My ears are stopped up & my shoulders & neck are very tight & sore. I do go to a chiropractor and have had many massages & have never felt afterwards like I did this one. This one was not a good experience & regret the $$ paid to feel bad. Also, this place is not a spa-like atmosphere, but it is like the business name states - "massage therapy". Inside is dated,& Julie's room, with the lighting, really showed me it needed a cleaning. All-in-all, you can get a good massage, just try them all & figure out which one you like best. read more

I got an hour long package, and afterwards I feel very relaxed and my shoulders are no longer sore.
