Upon looking online (outside of Yelp), I see plenty of people have noted the vegetable scarcity that apparently affects Bois Savanes...what a pity they don't take notice given the amount of competition out there. In the past I've enjoyed going there for lunch - welcome service and nice setting. Generally satisfying, I'd recommend for lunch but might not go as far as saying you should head over for dinner or a weekend treat. Good yes, but not a challenger to some of the more household names in town. Look and feel is correct considering this use to be a sandwich bar, so they've done a reasonably good job converting the place into something decent. Service is passable, and one can forgive that considering the lunchtime rush (in fact you'll probably need to book to make sure you get a table). Pricing is also very reasonable, with a business lunch (starters and main) and drinks for no more than 20 euros. Oh, and if you like things with a bit of a bite, they will spice it up if you ask.

Tables are small and the lighting indirect which creates a warm, cosy atmosphere very suitable for a romantic diner or a peaceful conversation with an old friend. Service is good thanks to a caring, very polite and smiling personnel. They speak fluently in French, English or Thai. The menu offers a limited choice but you can kindly ask to personalise a bit your dish (extra ingredient or sauce) and they will do so. The "classic" dishes taste good (e.g. the "yam" salads, the pad Thai variants), the Thai pork (spare ribs) was just ok, the Thai chicken was simple but authentic. The prices à la carte are moderate but since the portions are a bit small, you could be tempted to order several courses like they were tapas. Doing this eventually adds to the bill. Thai Café is located in the fine area of Stockel and is the only Thai in the neighbourhood, so it's better to make a reservation if you want a table for four or more on Friday evening or in the weekend.

Anyways... service veery slow on a Sunday with only three tables occupied. I ordered still water and instead got it sparkling. We ordered spring rolls for starters, I had a shrimp soup and my bf had a beef stew. Both dishes were super spicy! We love Thai, but after 20 min having left the restaurant we were still hot!! My soup had only 5 shrimps (main dish portion) and so much bamboo that I couldn't resist but to joke that I was a panda for a night! Perfect for a sunday night take away in front of a good movie. (They also deliver). I have been a loyal customer since many many years and the prawn red curry is undeniably one of the best in Brussels. Having said that, my boyfriend finds there are not enough vegetables in the curries. He's not wrong. Again I don't really eat in Thaï restaurants because I find that Thaï restaurant interior designs are usually tacky. But at Les Larmes du Tigre, the deco is alright. One of my top 5 Thai restaurants.
