Now we are settled into Idaho and at Heroes and I don't think our kids will let us ever leave (not that I want to). As an Acton Academy, Heroes encourages every child to think and behave like a hero, not a victim, while embarking on a self-growth journey. They encourage every family and child to be proactive, begin with the end in mind, to hold themselves and others accountable and to high standards. It's a place where children discover their own passions, gifts and begin to lead meaningful and purposeful lives. I have seen incredible growth in all 4 of our children over the last 2 years while attending Heroes Academy. They have developed real life skills such as how to have a meaningful conversation with an adult; how to fail and get back up again; how to speak in front of a large crowd; how to begin finding a passion or start a small business, all without our help. If you're worried that your child isn't actually learning much by completing so many assignments, doing homework each day, taking tests and getting 'good' grades in the assembly line of a traditional public education system, then Heroes Academy might be great for your family. During our tour, they expressed how much they loved our child, how well she would fit, and even told us there was an open spot. All we needed to do was complete the application. We did exactly that. The application asked detailed questions about our specific Christian faith and the church we attend. Within a week of submitting it, we received a cold, impersonal email informing us that our application was being terminated and our fee refunded. No explanation. No conversation. No willingness to clarify anything. Just a closed door. When I reached out and respectfully asked for the reason behind their sudden reversal, we received complete silence. Not even the courtesy of a reply. Based on the timing and the nature of the questions they focused on, it is hard to see this as anything other than religious discrimination. What makes this even more painful is that our child previously attended a nearly identical "Classical Christian" school in another state--with the same curriculum, same values, same books, same structure--and thrived as a straight-A student. She was everything they say they want in a student. Explaining to her why Ambrose had suddenly changed their mind was absolutely heartbreaking. Their academics appear strong, and I am sure many students receive an excellent education. But our experience revealed something far more concerning: a lack of transparency, compassion, and Christlike behavior. The way we were treated was dismissive, exclusionary, and completely out of line with the values they claim to uphold. Families deserve honesty and respect. Sadly, we experienced neither.

This elementary school is a very good place for your student to attend. They are right next door to…read morethe boys and girls club, which makes it easy to get an after-school program. The Principal and administration are well involved and genuinely care for all children. When we were involved in a car accident recently and didn't have a rental car yet, the Principal offered to come get my child so that she didn't miss any school-- either he or the Nurse would have come-- now that's going above and beyond to ensure that your child's education is met! These people will work well with any parent, so if your student goes here, or any school, talk to the staff and see if they can help. My daughter has experienced being bullied-- this school doesn't tolerate this at all. They have proactive anti-bullying campaigns and handle all situations right away. They participate in PowerSchool which tells me everything daily from missing assignments to attendance, and up to date grades. The teachers email weekly and communicate back and forth with me whenever we may need to communicate. Currently, Ms. Nelson, 3rd grade is my daughter's teacher. Being a single dad of 4 children (1 college, 2 high-school, and one elementary) I appreciate the teacher communicating with me via email and working with me on my child's education and overall concern for her well-being. Ms. Nelson has been a great person to work with this year. Thank you Meridian Elementary for showing myself and my child unconditional caring and support. YOU ROCK!

You can definitely tell that admin is a mess here, even the teachers agree (side conversations). Everyone just leaves, not even a resignation period? Just odd! For the amount of private tuition you pay here, I would go somewhere else. The communication to parents is spotty at best, the amount of time off at the school has been ridiculous. I pulled my kiddo out this past week and headed to public school in August, and I truly feel she will benefit from this move.

She takes joy in her work and the jobs she has in the classroom. She talks excitedly about all of her friends. I cannot wait to watch her soar further. The school offers great after school programs and our daughter has had exposure to in-depth art class, music glass, ballet, sports, etc. The unexpected benefit beyond all of this has been the learnings available to parents. My husband and I have enjoyed several opportunities to learn more about the Montessori approach to learning and spent several classes on positive discipline, much of which we have applied to our home. It has been an absolute joy to watch the person our 4 year-old is becoming in her first year here. You can feel how much teachers and administrators care about their role in the kids' lives. Her teacher Ms Laura is highly respected by our daughter and we enjoy playing school at home (with her as Ms Laura and us as the students). Mrs. Sue and Miss Megan made the transition for Jacklynn such a positive experience! She started in the summer program, and now we are enrolled currently in their 2021-2022 school year. I couldn't ask for a better environment for the foundation of my daughter's school years and learning. The Christian environment is important to our family, and I love that is a main focus at the school too. There are plenty of other preschools to choose from in Meridian and closer to where we live... but I will gladly make the drive to Eagle Christian preschool knowing my daughter is thriving and in such good care!!
