6th person to review Boise weekly. This is my 413th YELP review. Woohoo! As good as it gets! I wholeheartedly, and very respectfully, disagree with 3/5 other reviews! I will admit that it has needed some diversity, but that has changed over the last few years and it's by far more diverse. A FREE Local and Independent printing that you can pick up, well, just about anywhere newspapers are sold and then many other places! I usually get mine at the postal office, doctors office, or in front of their Downtown location. For a fee, you can have it delivered to your door, too. They have a mobile app and website, too. I prefer the print. This weekly magazine explores the arts such as local events, movies, music, local issues, and an ask Minerva section (Boise's #1 drag queen!). The cover is always artful making some sort of statement. I've made it my mission to attempt to upload their cover art every week. At the bottom of the front cover, it touches on the local highlights. Diving into the print, the inside of the front cover is home to the Knitting Factory, a local venue, which always lists their upcoming bookings. This again, is my go-to place. Keep turning the pages and you will see local advertisements and event, comics, opinion sections, other news and world articles, local items such as our home market, and then into the calendar which is usually several pages and breaks down many of the community events by day and category such as: on stage, Art, literature, talk & lectures, sports & fitness, kids & teens, festivals & events, and workshops & classes. After that there is a whole music guide. Boise is a big musical community and it's certainly highlighted in the Boise Weekly! You can play SUDOKU (no thanks, but thanks for the offer)! You can find a food section highlighting many of the good places to eat, food events, and such. Lastly, there is a classifieds place where you can find crossword puzzles, pen pals, pets of the week, legal notices, personal adds, home service, massages, careers and more. Additionally, you can find your horoscope (Scorpio here)! Local other advertisements are produced by Boise weekly annually such as a local brewery guide and a restaurant (annual manual I think) guide! Check it out if you haven't already! ordered a 13 week digital package with a sunday delivery. did the order on line 7/5/22.. paid for 13 weeks via credit card As of 7/14/22 we do not have access to digital. Was told by :customer service: need a week to get into system. I responded, its has be 9 days... My feeling is the system is designed to allow McClatchy co of Ca. to work on subscriber $$ before tendering a product. POOR PRACTICE AND WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE If possible a half star would be too much. read more

I couldn't agree more with Max B. The Boise Weekly is a pathetic excuse for a weekly, filled as it is with the ravings of near lunatics who all display a most alarming lack of basic logic. Bill Cope learned to write, like most kids, at age five or six then stopped cold. His writing sounds like the transcribed dribblings of a fussy third grader. The paper's editing, if it can be called that, is atrocious. Were it not free, it wouldn't sell for a penny. read more

What sucks the most is how much I want to LOVE Boise Weekly because in other places I have lived my life depended on the information in the non-daily papers. Having a past life as a music editor in Portland, the music articles leave a lot to be wanted. I'm not thrilled by the articles that are written, and I constantly yearn for something political that exposes the readership to something more interesting and intellectual. What we've got here are bar reviews, and superficially written, one-sided conversations. Of course, compared to the SF Bay Guardian, The Stranger, and the The Mercury, BW doesn't stand up at all. For news I use TreasuredValley.com which also aggregates blogs of note. For politics I stick with the Boise Guardian which always has the wrap on what is going on. I consider the Arts Quarterly to be superb, however, and though it is a part of the BW package I actually feel that it should stand alone. The thoroughness and attention to detail regarding our area's tiny arts scene is at least impeccably written and beautifully laid out. In sum, the coverage needs to be diversified, and the audience should be considered. read more

Mayfield Landscaping, Inc Meridian, Idaho Listed as a sub-contractor providing professional landscaping for Sunnyridge Homes with Brad Minassian of Coldwell Banker representing for home sales. Overall design is average. Plants, shrubs, flowers and trees are average. Have seen several homes and talked to owners regarding the quality of landscaping, only average with problems with damaged trees. Some have been replaced, others have not. Cannot find listing of business other than in homeowners manual. read more

Let's face it... we live in Boise Idaho. Our news papers suck, our tv news sucks, but it is nice to have one paper that explores some of the other aspects of Idaho life. It's not the best coverage, but at least they cover film, art, music. read more

I agree with Max B. completely. The Weakly has been going downhill with articles and staff, and the Thrive has been getting more hip and edgy and more independent as they get go.(the downside of them is that they are owned by the statesman but are doing a good job getting to the demographic that the weakly serves) I have advertised for a good portion of 2006 in the weakly and found that the service I recieved by the staff was less then subpar. I am unsure that I will use them to advertise in in the future. read more
