wow, what an experience! Their feijoada was perfection! I wish they had a location in Los Angeles. I'll miss this place. E a Caipirinha divina.

Everything you know about feijoada... Forget about it. Feijoada at Bolinha is definitely a superb experience like never before, at least for feijoada, the place, decor, wait staff, food quality, everything sums up resulting in a cultural experience. I was a bit hesitant in going to Bolinha on a weekday, and especially for dinner, also questions like food freshness since their ads show pictures of their all you can eat setup and kept wondering if during weekday this setup would be available or if it was going to be a la carte. I shouldn't have worried that much! Restaurant was empty when we got there at 9pm for dinner, we were really well served, wait staff extremely polite, attentive, and explained how feijoada was served on weekdays. Started with a basket of freshly baked pão de queijo and an assortment of breads, garlic butter, butter, annnnnnnnd batida de limão (like limoncello but made of limes, cachaça, and sugar), served in shot glasses, but even that was part of the all you can eat experience! Then the parade started... Bolinho de carne seca e mandioca (yucca massa filled with salted beef), pork rinds, fried yucca, everything was freshly made, then couple of feijoada kettles (lean version, ten kinds of pork cuts, from lean loin to smoked sausages), rice, collard greens, fried yucca, crispy bacon, grilled pork chop, orange slices. Would go back there anytime! Although probably not for dinner, it was a bit heavy even though we'd ordered the lean version of it. But amazing feijoada, best feijoada you'll ever have, their wait staff is amazing! Oh, valet is available at the door if I'm not mistaken, but it's easy, super easy finding a spot on the street.

Feijoada is a Brazilian dish of various meats(pork sausage and beef as well as beef tongue and other parts) with black beans served in a stew with rice and greens on the side. Bolinha serves feijoada in 3 options: traditional, light and kosher . The traditional and light come with a grilled pork chop and fried banana and fried yuca and fried pork skins. We went in a group of 17 and made a reservation although they weren't crowded probably because it was a weekday and a holiday here in São Paulo. We chose the light version which comes with pork sausage, beef tongue, pork chop and beef. We were given an appetizer of black bean soup in a ceramic cup and fried yuca with fried pork rinds and bacon. Delicious!!! The main attraction is the feijoada. It comes in a large ceramic pot bubbling hot! You layer the rice then feijoada on your plate and top it with farofa which is like a crunchy bread crumb topping made from manioc flour. On the side put your greens and the waiter will bring fried banana, grilled pork chop and grilled sausage. They serve Caipirinha as the drink to accompany the meal. This spot is great for tourists wanting an authentic dining experience in Brazil.

I really enjoyed going here. The wait staff was great and explained everything there was to sample. I had the Feijoada light. What I got was enough to feed two people so come very hungry or share with someone. The star of the show, however, was the black bean soup you drink from a little cup. For dessert they brought me a plate of mango and some limes.

    So good!

Outstanding feijoada! This place breathes authenticity and as I understand it's been around for like 70 years so they have mastered the feijoada. It's located in a nice area of Sao Paulo. We ordered the "light" feijoada which comes with pork sausage, bacon, ribs, sun dried meat (beef jerky) and I think one other item. The traditional feijoada has pork feet, tongue, and other pork parts that I'm not at all likely to try and it seems like most prefer the "light version". All the sides are fantastic and come with the feijoada - white rice, collard greens, sausage, breaded fried banana and some others. This is a must-try for foreigners and Brazilians. Get ready to spend about $160 reais per person, but trust me -- it's totally worth it. They have a ladies night, every day of the week after 7:00pm women eat free!

I fully appreciated the blanket and heaters that were brought over as it was a chilly evening, yet we were still "indoors" but not. Service was impeccable, with every member of the staff ensuring our experience was top notch and food met our expectations. I chose the slowly roasted beef ribs rice and was not expecting savory goodness that arrived! The beef ribs melted in my mouth and the rice was so incredibly flavorful - I would order this over and over again! Of all the restaurants I've been to, Figueira Rubaiyat has by far the one of the most extensive wine list I've seen, featuring many different wines from around the world, including Brazil of course! There is also a gift shop that should not be missed because of the very unique items that are found here - and a place I'll need to visit next time I'm in the area again! The entire experience is one that should not be missed. Every detail and every bite was absolute perfection!

Their famed "baby beef" was amazingly tender and flavorful. All sides were delectable and their service is always top notch. While considered very expensive from a local perspective, A Figueira Rubaiyat offers great value for those coming from abroad and thinking in dollar terms. We paid roughly $75 per person (R$ 360 in local currency, no alcohol, no dessert, only water, bread service, one entrée, and one side). You can't go wrong with A Figueira Rubaiyat!

No English menus for this non-Portuguese-speaking girl here, but I actually think Portuguese is a little easier to figure out than Spanish. So if you're in my equally illiterate shoes, smile, pull out Google Translate, and guess away. I ordered the octopus and fish ceviche, the fettucine with mushrooms, a caipirinha and the "Texas" cocktail, because the bartender really wanted me to drink it. I found the ceviche to be the most underwhelming item out of all my choices. It was fresh and tasty, but a little under-seasoned, without either the sharp bite of citric acid nor enough salt to offset the sweetness of the cherry tomatoes in the mix. The fettucine was delicious, with that chewiness of handmade goodness. The sauce was thick and didn't break at all, and the mushrooms were heavenly. I didn't really taste the lemon zest that was supposed to come sprinkled on top, but that's probably because the other flavors were stronger. The caipirinha was fine, but the Texas was a true mixology delight. My bartender didn't speak much English, but he used Google Translate to tell me a number of different details about the herbs and flavors he used in his drinks, which was really endearing. All in all, I was very impressed and would definitely come back here again.
