Fast forward 2 months and I am 7 weeks pregnant, sick with the flu (fever/vomiting), and barely able to get to the place (train+taxi) let alone enjoy it. We arrived and let the staff know that only my husband would join for the dinner and that I wasn't feeling well and didn't want to get others sick. Obviously the pregnancy and illness aren't their fault and the terms of the sale indicated it was non-refundable. However, at fine dining establishments in the US they've often had a clause for illness or other reasons to adjust the reservation - I consider this to be a part of great customer service. Considering we paid nearly 2,000 euros for this experience, I was surprised they wouldn't even refund my wine pairing (170 euros) as even if I wasn't sick, I wouldn't have been able to partake in it due to pregnancy. They gave us a credit for future use that expires in one year, which is comical since I will still be pregnant or with a newborn for that full year. Obviously they know how to cook here, but the customer service made what was already a tough day (missing my dream foodie experience and being bed-ridden on a beautiful estate) even more frustrating.

I booked online about an hour before arriving and the booking had gone through and we were treated really well and got lots of useful information and help from the reception. The dining room/breakfast room pays homage to the city's local hero, Enzo Ferrari, which is a nice touch. Recommend this place highly also for the fact that it is only about a 10-15 minute stroll to the Duomo/cathedral.

I stumbled upon this lovely hotel when vetting all other hotel options around the area of Bologna. The reviews of the hotel looked decent, the pictures made it look clean, and it wasn't too far out of the city center of Bologna. Well, when we rolled up to this beautiful place my jaw dropped. The fountain was going, the lights were shining, and the hotel lit up like a Christmas tree. We walked into the lobby, and yet another jaw dropping moment. The lobby was clean, spacious, and beautiful with chandeliers and marble tables. The people at the front desk were beyond helpful and friendly. The room was spacious (especially considering there were three of us). The bed was one of the more comfortable beds I've slept in, in my experience of hotels in Europe. The only issue I had was the bathroom. Don't get me wrong, the bathroom was beautiful and spacious, but there was no bathtub, and really no adequate shower. The shower consisted of folding walls; each day the cleaning ladies would clean the room and fold the shower doors back, then each day when we wanted to shower we had to assemble the doors back again - it was a bit strange, but not a total turn off. Now, there was a restaurant that was attached to the hotel. I know what you may be thinking, "blah, hotel restaurant, how good could it possibly be?", well this restaurant was pretty damn good. So good, in fact, that we decided to eat there twice in our three night stint at the hotel! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Bologna.

The parking is easy, there is not much near the hotel to walk to but shops, restaurants and movie theatre are close by.

The location is not particularly appealing - it's in a commercial district and surrounded by roads so I guess their main business is from the attached conference centre. There is a shopping area across a busy road that has a couple of restaurants if you're feeling adventurous. The room was pretty well appointed and better than I expected; it sported all the required amenities apart from a minibar and trouser press. No wardrobe as such, but two hanging rails and plenty of hangers. The bed was large and comfy, the bathroom nice and roomy with a big corner shower. The room price was very reasonable at 49 Euros per night including Continental breakfast. You really can't complain at those prices, although presumably it gets more expensive in high season. The conference centre is in a separate wing from the bedrooms, accessible only from the main reception so non-resident delegates are kept away from the guest bedrooms. It has two floors, both with large rooms that could be subdivided into two or three smaller areas with sliding partitions. As I was staying over the night after the conference, I took the chance to eat in the hotel restaurant as I was too tired to consider heading into town. At 7.30pm I was the only person in it, although over the next hour or so another 3 or 4 diners appeared. You couldn't call it busy though. For starters I had a salmon risotto, followed by a tuna steak with sesame and miso dressing. The risotto was tasty, although a bit too creamy for my taste. The tuna steak was certainly impressive in size, but was sadly a bit over-cooked. The server had not asked how I wanted it cooked, but even so it's surely not that difficult to get right. Parts of it were fine with a nice juicy centre, but most of it was distinctly on the chewy side. I'd have no hesitation about staying here again in future as the standard of the hotel was very good; however I would certainly think twice about having an evening meal in their restaurant again.

Ravenna is about an hour away on the Autostrada, and I'd been there before to see some of the sights. Location is not great for tourism, but I had a rental car and wanted to venture out. As an auto enthusiast I wanted to visit Modena, Maranello, and Sant Agata for Ferrari and Lamborghini (FYI Maserati is closed on weekends) - the museums were within 40 minutes of the hotel. Free parking at the hotel was a plus. My room was modern and clean. Great for my short stay. The breakfast buffet is very nice, and dinner was good, as well. Overall, the price and property were very good for my needs. If I were visiting the historic area, I would probably want to stay closer to the center of town. No complaints from my stay here.

Definitely, worth it!…read more Stumbled upon this tour, while doing some research for my trip. It had great reviews, so I was in. So I reached out to them on very short notice. The booking person, Andrea C. was so kind and went above and beyond to accomated our group so we could go the next day. Our total group size, upon arrival, was 10 total. We arrived at their requested meeting place, central location of the Basilica Petronia. Valentina was our tour guide, and she was so sweet. She gave us lots of fun facts and a little history, which I loved, along with each visit. They have several tours: Bologna Wine Tasting Tortellini Making Experience Cooking Class Sunset Food Tour Classic Tour We did the Classic tour. Includes yummy pasta tasting, with traditional broth, which tasted like a warm hug. We had several stops (dress comfortabld/sneakers), including traditional coffee shop, bread shop, and cheese shop, and farmers market. The group got along well, and enjoyed walking in and out of the cobble stone streets, and stopping to hear from Valentina. Great tour!

After a long travel day, the room was very comfortable and the staff was helpful. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. Amenities included comfortable linens, small toiletries, and plush robes. The only downside we noticed in the room was a lack of USB outlets. This made plugging in our devices a bit tricker, so make sure you don't forget your adapters if traveling from the UK or US. The breakfast can be added to your room for €15 per person, which we found worth it for the variety of items provided! Breakfast includes a selection of breads and pastries, yogurt, potatoes, eggs, sausage, and charcuterie.

I know that my rating is mid-range, but that's because we found this hotel to be rather sterile and lacking personality. Coming from our hotel in Florence (see separate review of the Palazzo Castri), this was a very different experience. The staff was efficient, but they lacked any personal sincerity. I felt the same way about the hotel itself. It seemed sterile in the same way you would find a higher end hotel in the US. The lobby, as well as the room, had all the right elements, but also was lacking in personality. All of this might have earned this hotel a higher rating except that it was quite expensive and didn't really seem to offer anything unique. My experience at their restaurant (Avorio) was also lackluster (see separate review). I suspect that Bologna has other places to stay that offer more personality at a considerably lower cost.
