Authentic Indian food, exactly like it would taste at a good dhaba in Punjab. We ate saag paneer, with chawal and wholewheat parantha. We were pleasantly surprised that the saag was made with actual mustard leaves instead of spinach. In India, saag is a seasonal dish, only available during the Winter. The prices are very fair, not at all like you'd expect as the restaurant is located just off the Leidseplein, one of the prime locations in Amsterdam. The staff is very friendly, polite, and accommodating. The service is fast, the restaurant is clean, and they don't play loud music. 5 out of 5 stars, will definitely visit again. read more

This place is great. We had the chicken tika Marsala and butter chicken along with 5 pieces of garlic naan and we ate it all! I was with 2 colleagues from India who said that it was very authentic india food. The front of the restaurant is very non descriptive but don't be fooled, excellent food and service. Prices are relatively cheap and the place is non touristy. Go there and you won't be disappointed. read more

Really really good Indian food! The restaurant interior is very outdated so don't go here for a romantic dinner. But the food is absolutely delicious. Creamy curry's and chicken that melts in your mouth, full of taste. We normally order a few dishes to share. Dishes seem small, but are very filling. The downside of this restaurant is the bad ventilation. When you return home you'll notice that everything smells like the food. I really had to hang my coat outside for a bit to get rid of the smell. Also, service is average. But oh well, the food is what's important. read more

Had the lamb saag with an order of garlic naan. The flavor was phenomenal, savory but not too rich like other naans. The portion was good, a portion of saag about half the size of the bowl of rice they served with it. It's a small family owned place, and definitely worth returning. read more

I ordered saag paneer with naan and it was delicious! I went around 7-8 pm and there were about 4 other tables in the restaurant. My food was €12.50 which I don't think is very cheap, so I disagree with the reviews that say this place is very reasonably priced. I think for the price, the portion was really small and I only got one piece of naan, which was pretty large but I still would've expected two pieces probably. read more

It's good Indian food, specially for the price. I ordered Madras masala chicken with garlic naan and the curry was good. It was just a tad hot for me, but the tasted good. Note that the naan don't have butter, and the menu doesn't claim that either. But just something to be aware of. The price is very reasonable by Amsterdam standards. read more

Delicious! Hidden gem just a 5 minute walk from a crowded and touristy area of the city. Highly recommend the sizzler appetizer. The lamb kabob was incredibly tender and the rest of the sizzler meat was well seasoned and tasty. We ordered the lamb korma, butter chicken, and chana masala as entres and ate our hearts out. They also had a banana lassi which was refreshing and lightly banana flavored with real banana chunks on the bottom. It was amazing. Service was fine. It was a bit awkward because we were the only ones there (e.g. hidden gem) but it was a pleasure eating here and we had a great time. read more

Lovely small place with a great atmosphere and great service. We had the lamb rogan josh and the biryani chicken and both were absolutely amazing. We also recommend their samosa and chai. Bombay Inn's food is either as good as or even better than most of them. This restaurant takes the art of inexpensive Indian food to a new level. Amazing restaurant! Hidden gem very close to the Leidseplein region in Amsterdam. Lovely decorations, brilliant service and then there's the food! I had the Butter Chicken, which came on a hot plate over a candle (to keep it hot). This came with rice. The meal was delicious and the proportions were perfect. It was also reasonably priced. Decent not great food. Staff were very cordial. Portions are a bit on the small side. For example, and order of samosas + chicken tandoori + 1 large veggie side + 2 medium veggie sides + large rice + 2 orders of naan was still not enough for 4 of us. I think it should be €€ rather than €. There was a nice aroma of the food being prepared but it enveloped the small dining area, so much that we asked for the door to be opened which they easily accommodated.
