I stumbled upon this restraints at la Rambla while doing some sightseeing and shopping. This was open early in the evening so I am assuming this opens in the morning and closes late at night. I was welcomed warmly by the people in the restaurant. The menu has variety. I really wanted to eat something spicy after the bland food am been having since couple of days. I asked to make the food spicy, it wasn't spicy but it was tasty and decent dish I had after a long while. Prawns tandoori - I really really loved this dish! It wasn't regular tandoori dish and more like cooked on tandoor with lots of onions and bell peppers! I literally ate till last bite! I might have licked the plate clean if am home I would defiantly recommend this dish! Rice - not going to rate this as i has normal rice I was servers with onion salads as complimentary and I really liked the hospitality! Am 100% recommending this restaurant for those who are near la Rambla and want to eat tasty food! This is as good as authentic Indian good can get. We were craving for home food after being in Barcelona for 2 days and enjoying local food. We ordered bhindi Masala, daal and Kadai paneer with roti, naan bread and rice. Everything was so very fresh and delicious! We are going to miss this food! Service was excellent as well. We finished our meal with home made Indian chai and so glad that we didn't miss it. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to have a good Indian meal in Barcelona! There's something about this little hole in the wall that charms me. I discovered Bombay Spice 2 years ago when after 7 days of fabulous tapas I needed some rice and spice. I was a bit skeptical with the restaurant being so close to the Ramblas (note: I never eat anywhere within a 2 block radius of the entire Ramblas, other than the market, unless I have stumbled out of the dessert after a month of imprisonment eating nothing but camel dung and delirious enough to be fed sub standard tourist fare at ridiculous pricing). You're not coming to Bombay Spice for the charm or the service or the presentation, you're coming because you want some good rice and spice, naan and spice, daal and rice, etc and this fills your belly up nice and happy. All the standard Indian dishes are present from Butter Chicken (rolls eyes... what Sweet n Sour is to Chinese Food), Vindaloo, Korma, Bartha, Daal, Paneer and so on and so forth. All well made and in good portions, especially good for sharing if you come with 2-3-4+ people. Thalis are also on menu if you like having cute pre-set meals to lure your adventurous taste buds. If you are new to Indian I do suggest this route, it gives you a nice sampling of key dishes that combine well for a meal. If you are dining solo, also a good choice. I have only been for dinner so cannot comment on lunch specials. Best thing, when I say I like spicy, REAL spicy, they oblige without defaulting to "western" spicy (which really means mild). This is not the place to come if you are looking for wine pairings. The wines are OK. It is Indian food at a little hole in the wall, temper your wine expectations. read more

My husband and I were craving some variety in our diet so we stopped here for dinner. The place was busy and was full of Indian people so it is pretty authentic. The food is spicy, but they ask the level of spice you would like, so we went with medium. We tolerated the heat fine. We started with an order of samosas and then we each had a non veg thali. The thali had a lot of rice and a generous portion of naan. It also had a portion of daal, some chicken , and then some salad greens. It also included a galub jamun. Everything was good at the time, but later that night my tummy was hurting. My husband was fine, so I think it must have been the galub jamun since I ate his and mine. read more

We visited this restaurant yesterday and didn't expect much. We were pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service. The owner couldn't have been nicer and knew his menu completely.
