After a boattrip on the lake Albufera, it's time for lunch! In The small village El Palmar you find this restaurant Bon Aire. Their speciality is paella, and for sure this is something they know how to make!! We chose the seafood paella, and it was sooooo tasty! Please note, that it's only open at daytime, for lunch, and not in the evening. Enjoy!!

This place is really out of the way. It is at least 30-40 mins car ride. I am not sure if it was worth the trip since we only had a few hours to roam around Valencia before heading back to Madrid. So plan accordingly. We ordered the chicken/ rabbit paella and seafood paella both were very flavorful. We also ordered the tuna belly and fried anchovies which were delicious. Very good service as well read more

Wow, it's been quite a while since this restaurant has gotten a yelp review. I get it, it is out of the way from Valencia, about a 30minute and $30 dollar taxi ride. Longer if you are in the heart of Valencia, but it is worth it for the award winning paella and seafood. You are surrounded by rice paddies and you know it is a great local spot when there are other spanish folks and the servers speak a little english. Luckily the menu is in spanish and english. Service is great, nice and laid back, enjoy your food, don't rush through it style. The white wine sangria was delicious and refreshing. We had langostine and prawns and the special paella with iberico ham. Every grain of rice was very flavorfull! If you plan to take a taxi back, they staff are kind enough to call a taxi for you, keep in mind it will take 30-40min for the taxi to get to the restaurant. Your alternative option is to take the #24 bus at the center of town back to Valencia which leaves once per hour, check apple or google maps for the time. read more

The food was amazing, fresh and some of the best dishes I have ever had. The service was amazing, we made reservations about 2 to 3 weeks in advance and it was absolutely worth it. Everyone was very welcoming, friendly and our server was so nice during our entire experience. The view of the rice paddy fields was so beautiful and the overall ambiance was very charming. If you ever come to Palmar, or to Valencia in general, please stop by here because it will be an experience you will never forget. read more

A recommendation from the nyt "36 hours in Valencia" article. This place was busy but shouldn't be a problem to get in at the off season. The "dry" paella Valencia did not disappoint. The rice was not as sea-tasting as other paellas I've had. The wet paella with duck was just ok. Maybe bc it was with duck we didn't like as much. The flavor was too much organ flavor. Very friendly staff and very helpful. We ordered an eel tapas which was very fishy tasting. Not recommended for the naive tongue. read more

We were treated rudely here and did end up not eating here. We attempted to enter the restaurant after reading the positive reviews on yelp but my wife, who is from Latin America and speaks perfect Spanish, was told in they did not open until 130, not in the most polite manner but not openly rude. When we returned at 130 my wife was told they were not open in a rude manner. Perhaps this is an outlier but the yelp community should be aware of the treatment we received. read more

We loved the fideuà here and the view of the rice paddies is nice! The puntillas were nice and crunchy and the homemade alioli is to die for! read more
