Their first was in Kanata, and their second in Gloucester). It's actually in the plaza on des Epinettes just west of Tenth Line, where the Quickie Mart used to be. My mom wanted to go, so I took her there when I was visiting in Orleans not too long ago. They just recently opened, so some of their displays were still empty, but they are hoping to get more products. They had lots of shelf stable items, as well as refrigerated and frozen products. They had some baked goods like Acma (soft Turkish bagels) and Simit (hard Turkish bagels) and also baklava. They had a lot of Turkish Delight as well. The lady offered us a free sample of their Turkish coffee, which was really strong, lol. We got some baklava ($7 for 4 pieces, it's sold by the weight), an Acma ($3.25) as well as some instant drink mixes ($1 each), a Cappuccino and a drink called Salep that we learned is a Turkish drink made of the tubers of orchids. They had lots of imported drinks, like Strawberry Fanta and Strawberry Crush. Also drinks with basil seeds in them. Staff (likely the owners) were very friendly and welcoming. The place is bright and clean. I asked if they were going to serve prepared foods and they said they are planning on it. My parents will be over the moon if/when they do, especially if they serve pide (Turkish pizza). I'm so happy to see more diverse businesses opening up. Four stars for now because they are just starting up and haven't reached their full potential yet, but I can easily see this becoming a 5 star place once their shelves are full and they start serving hot food. The potential is there. Lots of free parking in the plaza.

Time and time again I've found myself disappointed that some items that are on sale for that week are not in stock. It takes me 30 minutes to travel to this store and don't appreciate that I would have to drive back to the store to take advantage of the sale offers. I'm sure the store knows ahead of time of the items that will be going on sale and should ensure the product is available for their customers. Just yesterday, pork tenderloins were on sale but none available. The clerk advised that "maybe tomorrow" there would be some available. Well I'm not going back tomorrow!! Other products that were not available were boneless skinless chicken breasts and macaroni (really??). I had to finish my weekly order at Walmart so that I wouldn't have to drive back to Hawkesbury the next day. Not acceptable. Very disappointed! I'll have to decide which store I will be attending in the future where I can complete my order in one stop. Oh.....while I'm at it.....PLEASE get rid of the 25 cent deposit for a grocery cart. Overall, it is my perception that staff at Metro are generally not as friendly or cheerful as staff at Loblaws. Prices at Metro are also generally higher than other comparable chain grocery stores. Although, admittedly, their deals on prepared foods are quite good. They will occasionally have a Family Meal Deal where you get a roasted chicken, a pound of ribs, a large box of potato wedges and 2 tubs of salad (a pound each, with choices like coleslaw, potato or macaroni) for $20. Their pizzas are also not bad. Oh, there is one thing that I like about Metro more than Loblaws: their house brand "Selection" puff pastry is AMAZING! It's flakey and puffy, but not oily nor greasy. Loblaws' house brand "President's Choice" puff pastry is super heavy and oily/greasy. So I guess prepared foods and puff pastry, is why I like Metro, lol. I like that they carry some products that are not easily found at other large supermarkets. They have Neale's Sweet 'n Nice Caribbean Ice Cream (the Passionfruit Guava flavour is delicious and the company is Canadian!), Jarritos (including in Guava, yeah, I like guava a lot, lol), and Patsy Pie gluten-free cookies (also a Canadian company, but no guava-flavoured cookies though, haha). They occasionally have good sales and their regular prices on some items are about $1 less than the regular prices at places like Metro, Loblaws, and even Real Canadian Superstore. They have Purell wipes by the door, which I use to wipe down the handle that everyone touches to push the grocery buggy. Remember...only YOU can prevent the transmission of Influenza, Rotavirus, Norovirus, etc.! Lol. (High five if you get the reference to Smokey the Bear, haha). That's what J.T.'s offers a customer like me. Instead of driving up and down Innes Road dealing with left-hand turns and labrynths within mall parking lots, I can (and do) drive to Navan and get three or four of these tasks done at once. I appreciate the Quebec-style beer fridge system they have where you walk in the fridge and see a small warehouse selection of 6-packs and 12-packs of Corona, Blue, Coors Light, Moosehead, Keiths, even Mill Street Organic. They offer all these goods and services as distributers: they are authorized LCBO and Beer Store dealers and offer dry cleaning through Brown's. And their customer service has that small town approachable feel to it. They will be getting my business.

When am lazy I get myself a 8.99$ fully cool chicken, because those days happen. I don't feel like I can give them a 5 star. simply because everytime I go, I wait in line for a really long time. They only have one cash or two that are open. But the deals definitely make it worth it to go! I always save a ton when I come here. I also love that they sale here a naturel drink with stivia name zevia. I always have a really hard time to find it and this store has it.
