I was looking for a restaurant around 10 pm and I stumbled on Le Grand Bol. I ordered beef, dumplings and rice - everything was fresh and yummy (€20 including the coke - all pictured). Felt absolutely like I was dining in China. I visited many restaurants in China and Chinese restaurants in Europe and I was always surprised by the difference between the European Chinese and the real Chinese. Not in the case of Le Grand Bol, this is very authentic. The personal is friendly and they speak English. There's WiFi. Recommended, I will sure visit therm again when I'm in Belleville.

The cool part was the Shanghai pork dumplings were being made in front of our eyes (and visible from the street), so u know they are fresh. Situated in the 13th arrondissement, few minutes walk from Chez Tang Frere and Metro Porte D'ivry (Line 7) and Olympiades (Line 14), we had an above average dinner. We ordered 2 bowls of vegetarian noodle soup and a plate of stir-fried tofu,shiitake mushrooms with cabbage. The home-made noodles are nice and chewy as they should be. Unlike the other restos that charge you an outrageous 10 euros or more for factory-processed noodles, the prices here are decent. My husband had a quick look at the kitchen and the way the cooks and chef conducted themselves in the kitchen and we were pleased that everything was clean and proper! Bravo!!! Most of the diners here seemed to have opted for beef noodles and everyone looked happy with their orders. The rice was overcooked to the point of being crispy and burnt. The noodles with chicken were the wrong style noodle for Chinese cuisine, tasted like they'd been soaked in soya sauce for days, they just laid strips of plain chicken on top, and it was mushy. The beef with bean sauce and garlic had very little bean sauce flavor but was overwhelming with salt to the point it was inedible.
