This park is amazing that is how I can describe it,not only it is huge but it is also beautiful and has so much for the kids to do while enjoying the outdoors there is also a kids museum close by. There is plenty of parking here but we aware you will be walking a lot thru this park even if you park close or not. For the kids I recommend bringing a bathing suite as there is a little river where the kids can play and get wet also bring snacks and drinks it gets very hot and there isn't to many places here to buy food or drinks. If there is an event like there was when we visited, be ready to park on the far side of the park and walk also you can bring bikes,scooters and skates to this park. This is truly a hidden gem in Lakeland,Fl and we enjoyed visiting here. read more

Always a five star experience. There is so much parking and depending on what you want to do you can park close to where you want to be. We always park close to the main playground and start there. It's actually a giant circle when you think about it, so we start at that playground then we move on to where there's the owl playground and the spinning carousels. Then we continue onwards to the treehouse, from the treehouse we go to where there's the main building where they had shaved ice and you can get food if you want then it's an easy walk back to the car. We always bring the kids scooters because the walk is a little far for them, they are five and seven. I did learn this time around that if you are older like my in-laws this park may be a little too spaced out, especially when it's hot outside. However, there is a tram that will bring you from place to place so we did end up taking the tram from the main building back to where we parked. We spent about an hour racing around just giant park. There is a lot of shade, but also you do need sunscreen. It is a majority outside and everyone knows how hot Florida gets. I think it is brilliant that at the main building they have shaved ice. Also, at the treehouse they sell drinks, a water bottle was three dollars, which was actually pretty reasonable so I got the kids water. Even though it's hot in Florida I really like the kids spending time outside so this is a fantastic place to spend a couple hours. I'm sure we could spend even more time here if we ever decide to check out rooftop bar or the food place, but for now we've only experienced the multitude of playgrounds. It never feels crazy, busy, but that's probably because it is so spread out that families can be all over this huge park. read more

Bonnet Springs Park is a beautiful area in Lakeland. We were attending a wedding here and were amazed by how big this park was! The parking was plentiful for the area that this event was held. The ceremony was outside and it was beautiful, sunny day for it. After the ceremony, we got two hours to roam around that part of the park and it was beautiful. A lot of places to walk around and nice photo opps. The outside area where the ceremony was transitioned to an area to play some lawn games until we waited for the reception. The reception area was also big and beautiful with how they decorated it. A beautiful spot for a wedding. I would love to explore this park again if I was ever in Lakeland. read more

Bonnet Springs Park has been on my bucket list for a while and our family finally decided to make the 45 minute drive because we were having fantastic weather that weekend and wanted to spend the day outdoors. The park is extremely spread out, but there is a tram service and plenty of parking lots. There are lunch options in the restaurant at the Children's Museum and a rooftop bar, but there are plenty of picnic tables if you prefer to pack your own lunch. We had lunch at the Rooftop Bar with our two picky eaters and quickly realized that we should have ate downstairs where there was chicken tenders and fries. They weren't a fan of the flatbread pizzas, but enjoyed the wings. We did enjoy our cocktails and the view from the upstairs bar so maybe next time we will just grab one drink and then go downstairs for food. We spent several hours at the park and probably only saw half of the attractions so we will return soon to see the rest of the park because we missed out on the train shaped playground equipment located behind the welcome center. The treehouse ended up being a little boring and only had one tunnel slide and one swing so we quickly moved onto the indoor bee exhibit. My boys favorite attraction was the wooden owl that had multiple climbing walls, slides, and nooks to play hide and seek. One of the main outdoor playgrounds was unfortunately under construction. Hopefully they plan to add shade to that playground because everything was in the sun. Overall we really enjoyed our visit to Bonnet Springs Park and was impressed that there was no cost unless you visited the children's museum or ordered food. The attractions are very spread apart so I would like to bring my boys scooters next time we visit. read more

I don't think I've ever enjoyed a park this much. This park is huge and there is so much to explore. The service here is hands down the best service I've ever experienced. The Starbucks worker and experience was good and even my checkout experience in the store next door was amazing as well. Got a few little trinkets like a shirt and a license plate holder. This park is so fun and interactive especially for kids. But even for adults this place is a haven. Thoroughly loved this place. Honestly, I just hope it stays this way--pristine, well-maintained, and staffed with the kind of people who actually seem to care. From the moment you step in, it's just rolling hills and beautifully manicured landscaping everywhere you look. You can tell this wasn't thrown together--it's thoughtful, intentional, and seriously peaceful. The variety of activities is impressive. Multiple playgrounds scattered throughout the park, each with its own vibe, and then--out of nowhere--you've got this massive, air-conditioned tree house. Yeah, you read that right. Easily fits 30-40 people. Perfect lunch spot, or just a cool little escape. There's even a stream running through part of the park that kids can explore. It's safe, creative, and makes the whole experience feel more like an adventure than just a walk in the park. Just when I thought it couldn't get better, I wandered up to the rooftop bar. Grabbed some wings, fries, and a drink--solid food, decent portions, and a nice little way to wrap up the visit. This park just kept surprising me in the best way. Bonnets Springs is such a treasure and brilliant addition to Lakeland and Polk County. It's a gorgeous park full of walking paths and activities for all ages that I think most locals didn't realize we needed. It's crazy how a few years ago this use to be a random rail yard with mountains of dirt and waste- when they started constructing the park I remember driving by thinking, what in the world could they even do with this area? And I never imagined it could turn into such a gem and staple activity for Lakeland. This is a place I love to meet up with friends or family and walk around. You could come here everyday for weeks and walk a different route and still probably never take the same route twice. There are so many paths, both sidewalk and boardwalks to take, and things to see it's so refreshing and fun. If you have kids, this is a dream place to take them to burn off energy while getting fresh air and Vitamin D. They have at least 4-5 playground areas that are all different from each other. This is also one of the rare places in Florida that has a little of incline & hills- there are a few slides on the hills and the kids literally go crazy for them. Along with this, there are some indoor activities here as well. They have the Florida Children's Museum in the middle of the park where the main building is. There's also a nature center by the wetlands where you can learn about the wildlife found in the area. And, they have a cute little butterfly pavilion that you can walk through- this is on the far end of the park so it's easy to miss. You can really make a visit here a whole day affair, as they also have food options. There's a cute coffee shop in the building at the front where they serve Starbucks coffee. The Depot cafe, right next to the Children's Museum, is a cafeteria style place that has dozens of good food & dessert options. There's even a rooftop bar for the adults to enjoy. The park is so big they also have a tram service running most days. There are signs out intermittently for where they stop and drop off. If you haven't been to Bonnet Springs I am so serious you are missing out! I hope most cities can have a place like this eventually, it's truly the best! read more

I am obsessed with this park and it's 100% worth the drive to Lakeland. This has to be one of the most beautiful parks in Florida! Gosh, how I wish we had something like this in Orlando. This park makes you feel like you're immediately transported to an urban oasis, full of hills, trails, and places to explore. The property is 168 acres and features a welcome center, coffee shop & lunch cafe, rooftop bar, Children's museum, butterfly garden, a boathouse, nature center, several playgrounds & picnic areas, botanical gardens, an event venue, a treehouse, a canopy walk, and more! You can spend a whole day enjoying this park and there's lots for the kiddos to enjoy, too. One of the things I love is that there is a free shuttle service throughout the park with a guide who explains the different areas & development of the park. They can drop you off at different stops so you don't have to walk the whole time since it's so massive. The canopy walk is also a nice shaded stroll through the tree tops. After my first visit to Bonnet Springs, I have to agree that this is an amazing park. Admission and parking are free. Opened in October of 2022, Bonnet Springs Park was created out of an old rail yard that operated between 1880 and the early 1950's as a major hub for the movement of freight up and down the east coast. It was one of the reasons why George Jenkins built Publix headquarters just down the road. By 1952 the railyard closed. The land was left in an abandoned state until 2015 when a group of Lakeland residents proposed the creation of Bonnet Springs Park with the mission to enrich the community through nature, culture, and recreation. Sasaki was hired to create a master plan for the park. Today Bonnet Springs Park is a privately owned public park on 168 acres that underwent extensive remediation site work including the removal of invasive exotic plants, constructing wetlands and bioswales to treat runoff, and capping contaminated soil in large hills that double as overlooks for the park. Mature live oak trees and meandering waterways are protected and enhanced. Since the clean-up, nature is returning and fish and animals that couldn't live in the pollution are back. Bonnet Springs Park is even larger than Disney's Magic Kingdom so plan to spend several hours here or even the whole day. This park is amazing. I can't believe it has free parking! I went for a Polynesian festival. It was fun. All the park seemed in really good conditions. It has areas for kids to play, walking areas, bridges, and more. I couldn't explore much because of a rain, but I'd be happy to go again and keep exploring! read more

Very cool architecture, lots of playgrounds, beautiful elements of nature..... you can find it all here. Wear your walking shoes and explore!! There is even a place for kids to get wet in the playground so bring your swim stuff. Inside Bonnet Springs Park you can also find the amazing children's museum. When we headed to Bonnet Springs Park you were not sure what to expect but it had heard very good things. We were absolutely blown away at the sheer size of this park and how well kept it was. All the staff were incredibly friendly, and even though we spent a couple of hours here we still didn't manage to do everything. The fact that this is free absolutely blew us away, including a free tram that can take you all around the park, this was especially important because it was an incredibly hot day. The whole area is beautiful and would be a great place for a picnic, a dog walk or as we saw, summer camp activities. Our only complaint, if you can call it one, was the fact that it wasn't closer to us, so we were able to visit much more frequently than we have. We will certainly be returning to check out all the things we missed. read more

This is a very pretty and clean park. It has lots of area to walk around and get fresh air. There are buildings around the park to get food and use the restroom. There are also a few water fountains around the park area. I came on a cloudy day with some clear skies for a short part of the day and thought it wouldn't be as nice but it was better than a fully sunny day because I got tired after a few hours. There are fun things to do with kids like fun little playgrounds spread around the park. Adults can enjoy their exercise with walking, running, cycling, and there are some outdoor calisthenics machines. You can cycle or scooter through many parts but there are some areas that prohibit riding on wheels (besides wheelchairs). Speaking of which, it is handicap friendly. If you get tired of walking, there are trams that come around and will pick you up. Earlier in the afternoon, it's more frequent but once it's evening, it takes longer to get a ride. Either way, it's pleasant and very convenient. I recommend this park for a long afternoon and early visit to be out in nature and enjoy fun activities. I'd bring a small cooler with drinks and snacks that you enjoy because everything here is more expensive for the convenience. read more

This park is amazing! My cousin and I went for a hike through the grounds and loved all the art, nature, and landscaping that Bonnet Springs has created. It has an inviting atmosphere and an adventure around every corner. The park felt very lively and busy with families and couples. It offers many different playgrounds and slides for kids to play in. I particularly enjoyed the rooftop bar that overlooks the beautiful grounds. The cafeteria below was very clean and had a wide variety of food options. It is situated right next to the children's museum, which is the only place where you need to pay for your child to enter. The coolest part was definitely the canopy boardwalk that sits at treetop level. There's something magical about walking above the ground and feeling the leaves and wind blowing around you. There are lots of walking trails, event spaces, a nice little welcome center with a coffee shop, and a rooftop bar. There's a lot to explore here. During December, they do Light Up Bonnet Springs. A Christmas light trail that ends in the green space with different events, performers, etc. It gets bigger every year and do expect crowds. This year, we went the week after Christmas; still super crowded but not as bad as before the holiday. There's a lot to do here. I seem to find new things every time I go. Oh! As an Orlando resident, I am crazy jealous of Lakeland getting to have this absolutely incredible park in their backyard! It makes sense that it's privately funded because I don't see most cities investing this much into a park of this caliber. It honestly does not feel like you're in Florida. The terrain varies in height throughout the entire park and I was so impressed with the planning that it must have taken to design and build this place. From the rolling hills, to the various types of walkways, the playgrounds, and event spaces, there is TONS to see and do at this park. If it's your first time visiting, do yourself a favor and hop on the shuttle when you first arrive. The driver gives you a 15-minute tour (more or less) of the park which gives you a solid lay of the land. Our driver gave us all of the fun facts we were curious about and we got to ask a lot of questions during the ride as well. Even after taking the shuttle ride, it still doesn't feel like we experienced everything. The park is huge! We didn't get to see the museum, welcome center or cafe there but they looked really nice. I'd also love to spend more time walking through all of the trails near the water. We really enjoyed taking in the views from the canopy walkway and through the gardens. This park alone is worth the 1 hour trip from Orlando to Lakeland but if you have time, definitely explore the surrounding area, Lakeland has so many other cool things to offer. Who knew that this incredible park sat just off I-4 in Lakeland? I wish I could give Bonnet Springs Park ten stars! My family visited in November and spent the morning there and we could have spent all day. First of all, access to the park itself is free (Cue angels singing for all parents of young and energetic kids) There is a kids museum on the property and that has an admission charge but everything else is free. Here is the list of what we found: - Swings, climbing structures, and slides - Water and sand play areas - Walking trails - Cool owl shaped playground structure - Spinning structures that also look like art - Trees to climb (and pretty photo spot) - Nature center - Butterfly garden - Dock to walk down to the water (they said in the future they will have boats to rent) - Cool Kiwanis Treehouse (air conditioned too) - Large grassy areas throughout for picnics or sitting - There is even a tram to take you around the park for free! There is a fast casual restaurant on site and they serve sandwiches, salads, and ice cream. We dined there and thought it was decent for the price. We saw a cool rooftop bar and welcome center that had a coffee shop but we didn't visit this time around. Because the park is so big there is a lot of the park that does not have shade. I think in the hotter months (which is most of the year) this would not be great, but they do have some trees in the back of the park that make it more comfortable. There are also areas that have air conditioned buildings (nature center, treehouse, restaurant) that you can escape to. We only explored part of Bonnet Springs Park but would love to go back again soon! read more

I didn't expect much when my husband wanted to come here but I was impressed with how beautiful this park is!! It's a really large park with different indoor spaces, modern buildings and treehouses. We parked near the back by the kid's playground and were surprised with how busy it was. When we walked to the lake area there was a very nice modern building. It looked like they had a free event for kids going on when we walked by. My dog absolutely loved the park, plenty of nice grass to roll around on. This park is super impressive and definitely worth visiting. It looks like there are plenty of places to host a part too! read more

My wife and I spend time at Bok Tower Gardens and here when we want to walk together and enjoy each others company in beautiful surroundings. The butterfly enclosure here is my favorite attraction. The park has lots of winding paths, some paved, some wooden. All-in-all, a peaceful and pretty place to visit and spend a couple of hours. Lots of vending and restrooms and a couple of places where you can eat. There's a rooftop bar that's nice, too. read more

It's a nice morning to walk at a park, & if I were to pick one right now, it would be Bonnet Springs Park. It just opened in October '22, and when we came to visit I was thoroughly impressed. We walked most of it, but definitely need to go back for other areas we missed. Most areas of the park are dog friendly, but some are not which is understandable. They have clear signs to tell you which areas are not l. What I love most about this park is the different elevations. It's not just all flat land and it makes the views so pretty in many different perspectives. The playgrounds are fun and whimsical. The grassy areas are nice, they have many different garden areas, a butterfly garden, a water view, and a tree house that you can walk up to the second floor to see the water from the top. There is also a children's museum and their main building in the very beginning has a cafe, coffee shop, and a rooftop garden bar. They have event space as well for weddings and parties and a nice green area beside it for outside cocktail parties or other events. For Spring Break, this week starting March 13th they have activities every day for the family. Check out their Calendar of Events. I will definitely be back to explore more. This park is a nice size with tons of parking and I do love that they have a free tram that zips people back and forth from one side of the park to the other! read more
