UNPROFESSIONAL Bonnie returned my call at 8PM. I left her a message around noon. Extremely combative. Threatened to call the cops on me for harassment. I called her back after she hung up on me and asked to be interviewed. I consider a business call at 8PM harassment. She blamed my sister for not putting me on the interview list. My sisters soon to be ex-husband brought me up in his interview and Bonnie Shields did not think it was important enough to ask me any questions. She told me that. Well, I have seen the marks on my sisters face from him hitting her. But apparently everything he said was a fact to Bonnie Shields. The fight is over my nephew. My sister's husband hits my nephew on a daily basis as well. I have witnessed it many times. The man has no income but buys boats and Jet Skis regularly. Where is that money coming from? Now he is trying to go to Michigan with the boy and Bonnie is ok with that. The man with no income is now going to be in charge of my nephew. The fact that she is working in the public sector is all you need to know. She probably could not make it in the private sector. You would think she would have a problem with a person that pays no income taxes since clearly, she is on the government dole. I read every 1-star review prior to mine, and I agree with them. Bonnie Shields does not do her due diligence and takes sides. The fact that she is taking the side of a woman beater and a constant child beater without speaking to anyone else tells me everything I need to know. She said I have to subpoena her if I have any more questions. I am actually planning on doing that. Then she hung up on me again for the second time. Remember she called me at 8PM. I cannot speak to Ms. Shields as an attorney, but as a CFI I would never recommend her. After 8 years of constant litigation initiated by his ex, and 17 months of litigation that included Ms. Shields CFI investigation, my husband retained full custody and decision making authority for his children AND was awarded relocation by the court in December 2022. She is biased, unfair, and did not have an awareness of correct legal standard, which is concerning, as she is an attorney. She made a threat of filing a motion to try and force her uninformed opinion on my husband based solely on her communication with his ex; worked far outside the scope of her appointment and with no regard for the boundaries of her appointment; advised the opposing party on how to try and "win" her case; made false, erroneous, damaging and disparaging statements about me and my husband; and, baited my husband into saying negative things about his ex that she then used against him. My husband (and by extension I) have been involved in constant litigation with his ex for 8 years through the entirety of which he has retained primary custody and sole decision making for their children. Ms. Shields did not even consider that very basic fact during the investigation. But don't take my word for it. Don't trust the "Referral List" reviews because she gets to review them and decide whether they are published, which gives an inaccurate 5-star rating. Here are a few statements about Ms. Shields from the public court order (names of minor children, professionals and/or witnesses have been removed for privacy): · The CFI took issue with Father's home even though no caseworker or other professional has found that his home is unsafe. · The CFI gave Mother 30 days' notice for a home visit and Father 13 hours. · [Psychologist] felt compelled to clarify the CFI's false reference to their conversation about stepmother's appropriate communication that the CFI indicated was excessive. · In hindsight, the change of therapists was not only not endangering as alleged by the CFI but was clearly in the best interests of [the minor child]. · [Work Product Review Professional] noted that the CFI disregarded Father's primary role for the last 6 years. · The CFI exceeded the scope of the order appointing her by opining about decision-making and recommending a change in the majority parent when the only motion pending was the relocation motion and a request to change Mother's dinner visit. · The CFI did not notify Father that she intended to investigate a change in majority parent or decision-making. · The CFI also failed to maintain objectivity. · She inappropriately read the previous CFI report before completing her investigation. · A CFI report is supposed to be a "brief assessment that is nonintrusive, efficient and cost effective" (CJD 04-08) (the CFI report here fails to meet any of those criteria). · Neither the CFI nor the PRE considered the significance of Father's primary role. · She did an interactional with Mother and the children but not with Father. · She demonstrated no awareness of the correct legal standard according to [the Work Product Review Professional]. · She gave advice to Mother on how to achieve primary parenting. · She did not make good faith efforts to reach [the Psychologist] or [the Family Therapist], one of Father's collaterals. · She testified that Father said he hated Mother's guts when it was she who suggested that both parties hate each other. · She spent more time reviewing Mother's materials and with Mother than with Father. read more

Billing never added up. Created a contradictory and very one sided report. Did not take my concerns seriously. Seems to pick a side as a CFI. Also didn't listen to me about the infidelity that took place or look into it and it sure came to light. After changing lawyers in my divorce case , Bonnie told my new representation that she was going to need more money even though the report had already been finished. Cares about one thing and that is how much of your money she can get. Don't agree to use as a CFI in divorce case. read more

Attorney did not disclose that she is not regulated by DORA. Attorney did not disclose types of representations, did not disclose that she was entering a general representation, did not disclose that despite what our contract says, she will handle her own dismissal with the court and will make arrangements to stay on my record until the retainer is fully gone + $1000. She did not disclose that she can file ex-parte filings. She did not disclose that as long as she keeps herself as an attorney of record that I will be prevented from all communications with the court and that I could suffer misrepresentation. She did not disclose that as long as she is the attorney of record in general representation that I will be prevented from legal information and advice. She then was at liberty to lie. She lied in regards to her services - she promised to obtain a civil protection order against a dangerous husband by mid February 2014 - but it was suggested that it was legally impossible for her to do so. She was asked to terminate services when there were no motions in place. She promised to file a Notice of Withdrawal within 15 minutes and be off the case immediately. Instead she filed a Motion for Guardian ad Litem and a Motion to Withdraw, which would have kept her on record until a GAL was there to hire her back. I am a licensed real estate broker, a property manager since 2009, a home owner since 2008, an ambassador at Community Association Institute, a member of the Boulder Area Rental Housing Association, a driver for 27 years. Mrs. immediately suggested that the GAL will order a mental evaluation. The statutes require that a hearing takes place before a GAL is appointed. Mrs. Shields lied to the magistrate with false allegations against Mrs. Stein. There may be a case for liable. Mrs. Stein had postponed a cancer-diagnostic invasive procedure since February - and that saved her life. The two divorce attorneys worked in tandem to remove Mrs. Stein from the marital home and financially exhaust her to make her back out of her part of the marital estate. Advocates against domestic violence in Denver say that they see multiple cases like this, where the speedy remedies of the County Court are averted by misrepresentation by divorce attorneys in District Court. The GAL was supposed to sign a stipulation that misrepresents the situation to the court and falsely vilifies Mrs. Stein. She was then supposed to sign a Legal Separation Agreement at mediation without financial disclosures or forensic accounting. The attorney did not disclose the process of appeals and did not disclose the constitutional right for equal justice and the constitutional requirement that courts find speedy remedies to all physical and financial injuries. Mrs. Stein had postponed a cancer-diagnostic surgery since February in order to save her health and estate. She made calls all day long until someone mentioned the process of appeals. She then made an appeal with the Appeals Court downtown Denver. A copy of the appeal was then filed with the District Court and now Mrs. Stein is able to communicate with the court again. Meanwhile many months have passed. Mrs. Stein was unable to sleep or eat properly because of the danger to her life. She would have had to leave the marital home with an annular rapture in a disk as a result of the domestic assault. She wouldn't have been able to carry anything with her, and may have weak from the invasive surgical procedure. She is happy that she was able to keep the house and try to fight for justice. However, she will never sign a retainer agreement with another attorney. If you don't like the Realtor Association regulating real estate brokers or the taxi driver association regulating taxi drivers - then you should demand to have DORA regulate attorneys. The Attorney Regulation Board of the Supreme Court is the Bar Association, or the attorney association. That is why attorney Shields proceeded with confidence. The attorney regulation board refused to do anything in regards to my complaint until I started making my first moves to find a sponsor to have DORA regulate attorneys. Can you imagine - a world where justice for all is available and you aren't taken advantage of by your attorney? How many jokes do you know of real estate brokers taking advantage of customers? How many jokes portray taxi drivers as bloodhounds? How many jokes do you know about attorneys? How many people do you know who have been taken advantage of by their attorney?
