Burger patties have gotten too small and thin for the bun at a premium price to boot! If they don't fix this, they will eventually go out of business once the customer base realizes the shrinkflation going on here. It's supposed to be meat on a bun... not a bun with some meat hidden in it. Mac and cheese burger is just store bought, frozen Mac and cheese triangles, disappointing. Seriously, Fatburger is waaaay better! I want to support small, local restaurants and have been going here for many years, but now they are screwing over their long-term customers, we're done with this place. Ordered a basic burger with fries and a pineapple milkshake. $30 Burger is more bun than beef, no flavour. Flew into Calgary on our way to visit Banff. Per a local's recommendation, checked out Boogie's Burgers! FOOD - Ordered the Jebb's Doggie Burger, which has won awards from what we were told. The burger itself was huge! Overall, I think the burger was only ok. It had a beef patty and two hot dogs in it. The taste of the hot dogs were too overpowering that I could barely taste the meat. Just tasted like any other burger with more items in it. SERVICE - staff were super friendly and patient with us. It was our first time in Calgary and my friend has a lot of questions about Alberta Beef that they were able to explain. They also walked us through the menu on popular items, etc. AMBIANCE - reminds me of an American diner. Lots of seating, it was a little cramped since the tables were kind of close, but pretty clean. Vampire Slayer on the TV I love the food here and also it's cute because they play Buffy the vampire Slayer sometimes on the TVs also the walls are covered with posters of famous amazing live music for example James Brown did you know that James Brown played a gig at the university of Calgary 22 years ago at Mac hall? Found this spot on Trip Advisor while we were driving from Bozeman to Calgary. So glad we stopped for lunch. It was perfect! Service was great and friendly and the food was outstanding. A little difficult to park nearby at lunch, but found a spot on a side street a few blocks away. Less guilt having shakes that way! read more

Used their cold weather discount today and rocked the Fays Burger ($7,90) and Shawn's Burger ($13,65), as well as the hot tots. . Overall I was impressed with the vibe and location. It's a cozy diner feeling with some drink selection and milkshakes. The burgers were good and I'd come back. My Fays burger was actually fairly plain, so I'd go for a something else and put more toppings on like grilled pineapple. You can create your own and they have beef, chicken, salmon and meatless burgers, so everyone is sure to find something. This is easily a meal under $30 for two people and quite filling. . I went for lunch at boogie burgers today. My experience was very bad. I ordered the mushroom burger because i seen the lunch special sogn out front. I ordered all my food along with my 3 employees I took there. I did not check the receipt and went to the bathroom. As I was eating my burger I checked my receipt and let the person behind the counter know that they double charged me for the lunch special. He said that I did not say lunch special so it dod not quality for lunch special. So I asked did you make mine any different then you would make the lunch special. They said no. So nothing would of changed other then me saying lunch special. They were very rude and said no we will not refund the difference. Manager would not even come and talk to me as he was on his smoke break. I asked where on the sign does it say you have to say lunch special to receive the lunch special price. Now where they said. You should just know. We'll needless to say paying and extra $7.50 for something that is current and on a big sign in front I was blown away. Maybe I am slow or missing something but when you advertise a special and then you do not follow through with it I think that is dishonest and a shady way to do business. I will not ever support a local business that has ethics like this and treat people with disrespect over something so simple. You have lost my business along with my 6 employees and I wish you all the luck. Hope my experience at least stops one person from supporting a business owner like this and make sure your manager next time or maybe the owner himself maybe put that cigarette down and talk to your customer. All over $7.50 i have to take the time to warn people about make sure you say lunch special or they take your money. Oh ya it is a current special and will be there for more than a month. This is spot is such good vibes overall. Soon as you enter they have such cute tunes playing and the decor there is retro and great for pictures. The employees were nice. I'm glad that a Boogie's location has opened up near me, because I'd likely have never gone otherwise. I have heard for years that the burgers are delicious, but I'm just never in the Renfrew/Bridgeland area. I didn't know they'd opened up a second one, so when a friend suggested to meet him there I was pretty excited. I decided to get the mushroom burger with the small spicy fries. Prices were reasonable, total price was around $10. You order at the counter, but they bring it out to you. After about 15 minutes our meals arrived. First impression was that the burger is tasty, but the mushroom sauce and fried onions don't really come through. There's really not much else to say about the burger as it was pretty standard. Over all good, but not mind blowing. The spicy fries on the other hand were quite noteworthy. The fries were deliciously crispy and the seasoning was actually spicy, which was a nice surprise. I am looking forward to going back and trying a different burger. They also have milkshakes which sound pretty good, but I was way too full this time. Hoping to be able to not stuff my self next time, as the peanut butter milkshake sounds like it'd be good. read more

Sometimes I get an urge for a good burger and fries, and hustle over to check em out. That is why finally went to the 'new' Boogie's in Marda Loop ('a-next-of' upscale neighbourhoods that is still home to many post-war dwellings and more condos going up all the time). The interior is somewhat retro, and the wire that they fire the orders along is pretty cool. Otherwise, not much to say... The burgers. Yes, they start at $6, but those only have what poses as a patty of beef: before going further, please combine 2 or 3 'patties' so that you can actually get your teeth into some meat? I had their mushroom burger for $6.50 with a side of yam fries. Guess what claimed most of my interest? The fries. Comparable to The Rock's, they were quite good. Oh yes, the 'burger.' Just can't get up for a pattie that is so thin that it almost melts into the plain boring bun. The fried mushrooms and onions, and the accompanying mushroom sauce, were just about as absent in flavour and quantity as absent can get. The aftertaste, usually a good indicator of quality, was neither good or poor, but just so-so. All in all, definitely not worth returning for. So annoying to waste time and energy on such mediocre fare. Tempted to rate it 1 star but what there was of it was okay. Just. The staff were friendly and engaging, and certainly part of its draw... If I want a burger in Calgary, will still go to The Rock or to Naina's. Just so much more for $12-15! And the flavours are just so much more noticeable. I hadn't been to Boogie's since... 2003? This was the one on Edmonton Trail of course. I don't remember the details but our experience was negative and we never made it back, no desire to do so. Fast forward 15 years to 2018 and my decision to throw Boogie's a bone and check out their new-to-me location in Marda Loop. I got the "boog mac," a spin on the Big Mac obviously, which comes with two patties, thousand island dressing, cheese, shredded lettuce, onions, pickles, a sesame seed bun and ... tomatoes, because apparently all Boogies burgers come with my most despised of all burger toppings. More on that in a minute. I just got the burger, no sides. and the very nice woman working at the counter made me a half fanta half soda water because it's an amazingly refreshing less-sweet combo and should be done everywhere. I get my burger. Holy Hell this thing is big; it comes with a steak knife so you can, as I did. saw it in half to facilitate fitting it in your pie hole. It's also effing DELICIOUS. Mesmerisingly delicious, one of the best burgers I've ever had in Calgary. All of the toppings are beautifully drippy and the meat is done on a flat top thank you very much (charcoal grilled burgers are dried out garbage) and is perfectly juicy. The bun is majestic, soft but not weak. That tomato? Barely noticed it was there. I meet the chef who recommend swapping tomato for banana peppers. Done and done. They have pickled beets too- I see a burger with pickled beet in my future. Fries look excellent but I absolutely did not need any. It's good to be back. read more

My son wanted burgers for his birthday supper. Had previously been to BB on Edmonton Trail (which was great). Decided to try this location, so good. Initial reaction was kind of expensive when I ordered but you get a lot of food. Awesome food. Super wicked awesome food. Vintage arcade games and 80's/90's cool stuff throughout. If you want an awesome burger (and maybe best onion rings in Calgary) go check them out. Local craft beers on tap is just the icing on the cake! read more

If you have been to their other location you will find that the food in this location is of the same quality. The burgers are thick and juicy, the fries are thin and crispy and the milkshakes are fabulous. Two burgers, two small milkshakes and one small fry will set you back about $35. The restaurant is clean and bright with a fair amount of comfortable seating. You can bide your time waiting for your food playing the old-school video games located around the restaurant. First off let me say that I'm a big fan of both locations of Boogies Burgers. However yesterday I went to the Maria Loop location for lunch and was extremely disappointed in their Covid precautions. First there is no hand sanitizer at the entrance. Also many customers walked in without masks. The employee taking orders had no plexiglass or other barrier between her and the customers. This is an extremely successful business who could afford the measures required to keep their employees and customers safe. Food was just ok. I found the burger wasn't very hot just warm and I'm not sure if they changed their buns but it was huge and IMO just a bit too big for the burger. Fries were awesome as always though. Visiting from Seattle for a hockey camp through OHA and needed a bite between ice times. Great find within a mile of the Flames Community Ice Arena. Kid had the plain burger with cheese and bacon and I went for the mushroom burger, both were excellent. Rounded out lunch with fries and deep fried macaroni and cheese. Also very good. Love the food and environment (decor/games/etc) but the waiters are so low energy that they bring the whole restaurants excitement and energy level down so much. Some are fine, but others are probably not helping out with business much. It's very frustrating to go to such a fun place and get a waiter who is pretty much whispering when talking and has no emotion whatsoever. Never really thought to give this place a try I had seen it while driving by it but never really gave it much thought. When they decided to go in and try it and man am I ever glad that I did. Some of the best burgers I have ever had in my travels. They're a good size have lots of toppings I would definitely suggest coming in and giving one of their burgers a try. They're shakes are actually quite good as well. And I'm not sure if they still have the special but on Tuesdays you get a burger you get a small fry for free so Tuesday's might be a good day to go. Disappointed. Great staff who are pleasant and accommodating can not overcome poor food. A thin burger overwhelmed by a huge bun. Way too much mustard.
