I am a gypsy at heart and will remain so for the rest of my life. Also, I am a city person. Not that I do not enjoy walks through amazing landscapes. Of course I do. But Stockholm was something else. This review is about one shop, rightly called a studio, only. It was perfection. The kind of haven we all need from time to time, wherever we live. I have been in stores selling paper before in loads of capitals. But Ljunggrenspapper, the treasures it contains because that is what is for sale, perfect, measured magical creations, the music (did I hear music or was it really there ?), the few words we exchanged .... had me nearly decide to alter my plans for the immediate future and YES, move to Stockholm find a simple room in Gamla Stan and become a scullery maid and live .... happily ever after. Thank you Barbara. I would love to come today. Tomorrow and many many more times. Have plans for the next months but will try to make this return come true. Oh. My. Goodness. This place is a notebook lover's dream. We were visiting Stockholm from Seattle…read moreand I dragged my 6 year old to see this place after reading about it online. First, you should realize this is a department WITHIN the huge NK store in Stockholm, not a free-standing shop. That confused us a little when we were looking for it. But we were well-rewarded when we found it inside - a rainbow of notebooks as far as the eye could see, plus other things like cards, photo albums, recipe books, pens, rubber stamps, etc. I believe the notebooks are all made in Sweden, and the paper quality is lovely. When we visited they had quite a good selection on the sale table as well, with great prices. They have hardback ones and softcover ones, lined and unlined, in many different sizes, and of course, with those lovely fabric covers in a rainbow of colors. Some also have quotes or titles stamped in foil across the front - these are truly high quality notebooks. It was a feat of superhuman restraint to buy "only" 6 notebooks that day. They do have an online site that will ship internationally so I'm sure I'll order more.

I visited the shop on the 25th of May and the experience was great!…read more Firstly, the shop has a very unique selection of handcraft. From soaps and angels to Dalas - it has everything! Secondly, the shopkeeper was very friendly and gave me additional historic information about the Dala horses which I had bought. Lastly, the shop was located in a place where it was easily accessable by foot + there was an ancient runestone on the outside wall of the store.

There is a kind of shift when walking through the street here from the mass market to the…read morehandcrafted souvenirs and crafts. This store may be small but it seems to have the best curated selection of handcrafted Swedish goods compared to others. It does mean one may have to look up and down in addition to sideways as yours truly did in order to find something :) I was about to walk out with something small when I saw a very nice necklace for my wife just below my field of vision in the showcase at the checkout. The owner will gladly explain everything about the merchandise. Highly recommended.
