In the spirit of its location, there's an area dedicated to Irish writers that is a must-browse. The store also carries the types of goodies that stationary lovers go feral over -- tote bags, cards, small & larger prints, etc. Serene ambiance, picturesque location, & staff that were eager to help. I wish I could've spent more time here, perhaps eating at the same-named restaurant upstairs, but alas, my time in Dublin was all too brief.

For starters, right at the center of the store, there is a super well-curated Read for Palestine table. And I'm here for any business showing solidarity. Next, the bookseller made some stellar recommendations when I asked for contemporary Irish literature recs. Currently reading The Amendments by Niamh Mulvey, and it'll be, without a doubt, one of my favorite reads of the year. Several more recs made it onto my TBR. Seriously, come here for a great selection of books, knowledgable staff, and to support a small business doing the right thing in these dark times

Those that know me know I am a complete book girly. What asked what my pass time and hobbies are books are the answer to both. So when I saw this place I knew it was a must to head in and see what magic awaited. As i walked in I could see the great selection of books offered. They also had date with a book in which you only have a clue summary about the book that gives you a brief exiting blurb to catch your eye. Loved that they make reading fun! If you're in the mood for coffee or pastries there is a cafe located upstairs which is the perfect place to relax while reading a book. If you're in Dublin this is a must see! Great books and cute cafe it's giving all the vibes for a perfect relaxed day.

There's distinct literary vibe here, which took me awhile to get my bearings. There's lots of space to wander, of which both Gayle and I enjoyed. I only scratched this book store's surface, but did leave with nice literary journal and a book of poems titled Brink. The fellow old guy behind the counter pretty much left everybody along, and in my judgement not only knowing the time and being willing to tell you how the watch operated.

Going about business with a quiet stalwart dignity, unfazed by trends and the need to be shiny and the next new hip thing, instead very much it's own. This place sells books, well curated second hand and new ones. The selection is pretty good considering they don't have a lot of space, and I love the way they are laid out on the central tables so you can have a gawp or a good auld rummage. That's exactly the pleasure of this place too; you go in for a look and leave with something unexpected. It's not really a bookshop you go to with a singular book in mind to purchase - sure we have Chapters for that, this place is far more enchanting and perhaps, some might say, disorganized. There's also a great second hand music store in the back (Freebird Records) with a brill Blues section and decently priced CDs and vinyl too. Long may this place last. Go in with no expectations and you may well find yourself charmed.

As we walked by, we saw a sign that said, "Secret Book & Record Store", with an arrow pointing into a deep narrow hallway with posters of advertisements covering the walls. These places are the great finds in Dublin. At the end of the hall was a large room filled with used books, vintage vinyl & new releases including CDs. The store was a frezy of customers flipping through the bins of vinyl to find that one great band from their past. I did find a few old 80s punk albums but still on a quest today to find an original GBH or Exploited cover.
