incredibly large, beautiful bookstore with new and used books! Selection was endless and i loved the irish fiction section and gender and sexuality sections. Lots of display space and tables. Easy to navigate. And all these cool penguin editions of popular titles! staff was also very kind:)

Super cute bookstore near Trinity College. We bought several books by local Irish authors. They have a blind date book option where you can buy a book without knowing what it is. We would have bought more books if we had space in our luggage!

Another hidden little gem that I missed so far. I heard it used to be a hotel and judging by the layout that's quite possible. The book store goes over two floors, is well laid out and offers every genre you would hope for. Upstairs is a lovely little cafe with two fireplaces and big windows, window sill bench, couch and stools. I was there rather in the evening so I only had a cup of tea but loved their choices of tea. I went for a maroccan tea - green with mint and (I think) lemon. The staff both in shop and cafe was lovely and cleary loved working there. The perfect spot to get out of the buzzing city and relax, read, refresh.

Hells yes, this is 'Dublin' to me. The kind of Dublin you hope will manage to stick around though…read moreboom and bust and everything in between. Going about business with a quiet stalwart dignity, unfazed by trends and the need to be shiny and the next new hip thing, instead very much it's own. This place sells books, well curated second hand and new ones. The selection is pretty good considering they don't have a lot of space, and I love the way they are laid out on the central tables so you can have a gawp or a good auld rummage. That's exactly the pleasure of this place too; you go in for a look and leave with something unexpected. It's not really a bookshop you go to with a singular book in mind to purchase - sure we have Chapters for that, this place is far more enchanting and perhaps, some might say, disorganized. There's also a great second hand music store in the back (Freebird Records) with a brill Blues section and decently priced CDs and vinyl too. Long may this place last. Go in with no expectations and you may well find yourself charmed.

While in Dublin, Ireland, there is a vintage quarter with a retro shops selling new and used vinyl,…read morebooks and collectibles. As we walked by, we saw a sign that said, "Secret Book & Record Store", with an arrow pointing into a deep narrow hallway with posters of advertisements covering the walls. These places are the great finds in Dublin. At the end of the hall was a large room filled with used books, vintage vinyl & new releases including CDs. The store was a frezy of customers flipping through the bins of vinyl to find that one great band from their past. I did find a few old 80s punk albums but still on a quest today to find an original GBH or Exploited cover.
