this bookstore has a pretty big selection of comics and manga/lightnovels - with a good amount of cute LGBT rep throughout the store in a few labeled sections of media and items by the register. the staff was super nice when i asked about "where to start" when it comes to comics. i was able to bring my dog in with me to browse as well. as part of fifth street market, there's tons of free parking to get here. if i lived in the area, i could see myself coming here often :) read more

I love Books with Pictures Eugene! The staff is super friendly and helped me set up a pull list with them. They have the best inclusive atmosphere (which can be hard to find in the comic book community). I also found some great single issues in the discount bins for good prices. So, this is not your traditional extra nerd comic shop with white boxed filled with used and maybe collectible comics lining the walls. A bit more upscale than that. They have most or the popular current comics for sale and lots of graphic novels/books. A really good kids book section. There are some great cards and a few comic-related toys as well. Prices are retail and they usually have a solid selection of current stock. The staff is super friendly and will look up stuff and special order for you when you really need something, but they are not the 50 year old guy that still lives with his mom, plays WoW, paints Warcraft 40k figures - comic book knowledgable. They know what they have and carry, but not the most part it ends there. There is no, "Oh, you like the new Wolverine illustrator? Have you read any of the Alan Moore comics?..." The staff is in no way pretentious though. Always very nice to everyone. I have bought some graphic novels here and some comics for myself, and if they have stock on a new issue I am looking for, I will shop here before I go online. read more

This place has become a "must-stop-and-visit" whenever we are in Eugene. Their selection is quite amazing for a smaller shop. Located at Provisions Market Hall, they fill their new digs quite well. Whether it's comics or graphic novels, they have you covered. I also pick up a few titles when I stop in. Service is super friendly, willing to chat or point you in the direction of a new find. Look for titles on sale or for their discount comics as low as 25¢. Always a pleasure to peruse their shelves and I look forward to my next visit. read more

I live away from a few of my grandchildren and one in particular struggles with reading. However, if he picks the books, he's excited to read. I just call and order a gift certificate over the phone, they mail it to me and then I can gift it to him. Selection is wonderful and they are great members of the community. read more

I used to live in Portland, where Books with Pictures first opened. During the 2020 pandemic, Books with Pictures opened after it was only a Kickstarter. The timing was unfortunate, but the shop owners handled it well with the excellent website. After Oregon started social distancing, I visited the BWP Eugene website and ordered a surprise package. A month or so later, I revisited the website and discovered that they now have an online catalog, so I ordered books--and the shop owner hand delivered them! I just recently visited the shop in person, and it's similar to Books with Pictures in Portland but not identical. read more

We passed by here before but they weren't open. We finally got to go inside for FCBD! Yes FCBD is usually in May but due to Covid it was delayed until August. They did an excellent job for FCBD and allowed for plenty of social distancing. They had the free comics geared for kids at a tent outside the store so there was plenty of room for social distancing. The kids tent had people in costume. Everyone there was really fun and interactive. They had comics from 2020 and 2021. My puppy loved the entire experience. Since there was a heat wave they even gave her a bottle of cold water which she drank before we got back to the car. Inside the store is amazingly clean, well lit, cozy, welcoming and organized. I would feel comfortable bringing everyone here. It was organized in a way that kids would not be tempted to look at mature items and adults could browse without concern. We will be back! read more

This is the best bookstore in all of Eugene, and arguably all of Oregon! They have a large variety of graphic novels, some of which I haven't seen elsewhere! There are books available for all ages, and the store itself is very LGBTQ friendly, and is definitely a safe and comfortable space for all. read more

Eugene's Books With Pictures is pretty awesome. There are some great, super helpful folx working there, who know their graphic novels. They even deliver locally, so you can order online and either pick it up or have it brought to you. I highly recommend it. read more
