I went to go buy a gift around 10:30, which it says it was open, and when I went to go open the door it was locked and the woman working just looked at me and then went and stood behind a display, I double checked the hours and they were open, no sign on the door or anything, felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. I really wish the service in this shop was better because I do love a lot of the items they sell. Unfortunately, to two women (mother/daughter duo) who run the store are as unfriendly as you can get. The last time I went in was just to test whether or not all of my other experiences here were flukes. They were not! I cannot believe that "customer service" employees allow someone to walk into their shop and do not speak a word to them! Not even a simple hello. Mind you, this shop is no bigger than my bedroom. And I just want to say that I have worked customer service, I am not picky, I do not expect much but when you are running a store and a potential buying customer walks within two feet of you, you should always say hello. I wish I could like this store more. It really has lots of cool stuff in it, but it's so jam packed that you can't even shop. And I don't mean 'Uh, my giant stroller doesn't fit,' I mean 'Yikes, I am a normal sized person and I have to walk sideways to avoid knocking over entire shelves. I'm glad they have an eye for good things, but unless you are a tiny, model-thin individual who does not wear a coat or carry a purse, you're not going to fit. This shop is super cute. Great store for: Jewelry Stationary Cute gifty things Ornaments and doodads You won't really find anything you NEED, but there is plenty of stuff that you will love. The downside: the staff could be friendlier (although it has gotten better recently), and the isles are super crowded and close together. There are so many thing crammed in such a small shop, it can be hard to get around. read more

This is my favorite boutique shop in Eugene! It is perfect for birthday and celebration gifts and any last minute shopping. They have some of my favorite jewelry and have the kickee pants for babies! They also sell my favorite natural deodorant. There is a wide variety of gifts and small trinkets. I definitely recommend this spot for all gift shopping and for treating yourself! read more

I wish I could leave a 1/4 star review because they sell cute stuff and they usually have the cute card or gift item I am looking for but to put it bluntly the customer service is atrocious. It's almost comical to walk into a store in which you're less than 10 feet from the cashier (I assume the owner was the one behind the register when I was there but I'm not sure) and you have to make a point to get a greeting out of them. After the many times I've experienced the same groundhog-day esque situation in here I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the situation never changes much...it's literally like the employees are annoyed that you've dared to walk in the door and annoy they with your presence but moving right along... I was in the other day to spend money and expected that at the least this woman could pull herself away from the tiny box she was unpacking behind the counter to put on an ironic smile as to welcome me in but, alas, I was mistaken. The other woman who was "working" there at the time organizing Jewelery into the cases made more effort to whisper to the woman at the counter, I can only assume they were talking shit about either a. A customer or B. Another employee, neither of which would surprise me, I just loved that they spent more time and effort whispering to eachother than they could spare to say "welcome in, how are you?!" To me. The dog walking around the store paid more attention to me than the two humans running the place. When I had found the items I was going to purchase I made my way to the register (and had to wait for the employee hunkered over the customer side of the counter gossiping with the woman at the register) to move out of the way (I stood there behind her for at least three or four minutes) so I could hand my purchases to the queen of darkness at the register to buy. She snatched them out of my hand and scanned the barcodes, hardly said a word to me and spun the iPad around to my side. "Your total is $9.95. Sign there" (CHARMING) I signed and she said "do you want your receipt emailed to you" to which I replied "no thank you" (already trying to mentally scrub the experience from my mind) and she attempted a feeble "have a nice day" without looking away from her box. I neglected to return the sentiment as it came across as forced and pathetically too little too late. I don't know if I've ever been so disappointed with a business as I have been with Luxe but it's been years and I've seen almost no change. There have been maybe one or two employees that have been nice when I've been in but this most recent experience was the most memorable to me. I am fairly certain that the woman behind the counter was the owner (age, look, etc. have led me to this conclusion) and if she is indeed the owner she needs a serious dose of reality. No business should be able to treat customers so poorly and remain open, I do hope that they get their shit together or just advertise that they specialize in the opposite of customer service. I don't think I'll be back in, ever, and I'm not too upset about it. Thanks for the memories, Luxe, keep up the great work! (SARCASM). read more

I've bought a few cards, a necklace and a cute little book at Luxe, but I was always astonished at how expensive the items were! Every time I went to the counter it was a shock, and the owner and her daughter were always rude! I have never been greeted, made to feel welcome, offered assistance or given any sort of interaction besides the cost of my purchase. *the last time I was in there she piled my items on the counter and proceeded to ring up the two ladies behind me while I stood in line... When they left I said "well that was a little odd." To which she responded scowling "well I didn't know you were ready." The customer service is terrible. read more

The selection of products here is great: stationary, jewelry, gifts, books--unfortunately, the store is so tiny and crammed full that it is almost impossible to shop in. I am not a big gal, and I have to turn sideways to fit through some spots. The ladies who run the counter could also be friendlier...greeting customers would be a good first step. read more

I love Luxe. It is always my go to place for Mother's Day, Christmas and friend's Birthdays. There is a wide assortment of products so you can get almost everything you need for a gift including gift wrap and cards. Nice assortment of stationary and jewelry. Almost everything seems to be pretty well priced. Downside: It is a little small in there so don't bring a stroller in. read more

This is a beautiful store with great stuff. I frequently wander in there but never purchase anything because of the staff. There is usually more staff than customers and they are always so involved with each other that they not only do not greet customers but actually ignore them. I have walked all over the store and literally never been acknowledged. Too bad because it could be a nice place to shop. Get it together. Customers are your bread and butter. read more

Lux has great jewelry and fun accessories for gifts etc... But I am not impressed with the service at ALL. I have been in there many times and today I went in and I decided if will be my last time. If I could give no stars I would... I do not recommend anyone shopping here. My husband and I stopped by to look at their paper selection for a decoupage project I was working on. The woman behind the counter gave us dirty looks the whole 2 min we were in the store. I even caught her make a nasty look at us as we went to look at the merchandise located outside of the store. And to top it off she had a dirty mangy mutt sitting on top of the counter. I did not catch her name but she was a brunette. She was so rude and so nasty. I do not know what her problem was? Maybe she has an issue with interracial couples? But we did nothing to give her a reason to look at us with such disdain. Do not bother shopping here. I've loved going into this store to buy cards or jewelry as gifts and love the selection. However, the owner and her daughter are so incredibly rude that I would rather shop on ETSY or go to another store and buy a less unique gift from someone who can find the courtesy to give a simple "hello" and/or act like they are glad you chose their place to buy from.
