My experience with Boomer Benefits (BB) has been stellar! Yes, I had received all the mailers, letters, brochures, and numerous phone calls from Medicare supplements -- like everyone does -- and I felt overwhelmed and unsure how to make these important decisions. But when the window opened for me to apply for Medicare officially, I heard about BB during an online search about supplemental insurance. I saw an invitation to participate in a BB webinar for a basic introduction to Medicare. The webinar, conducted by the founder of BB, was excellent: straightforward, clear explanations of each part of Medicare, the application process, and pointers about how to choose the best supplemental policies for each part. Justin has been invaluable for information and advice, comparisons of various policies, deadlines, and all that is involved in making the transition from regular insurance to Medicare in a way that benefits me. He has always asked me what I wanted/needed in terms of coverage, monthly costs and coverage levels, gave me several options for various companies and prices for supplemental plans, and has followed up with me promptly to let me know when my applications have been approved or other important information. Just recently I also worked with Nicole, who guided me through the application process for a supplemental drug coverage plan. My Medicare and all my supplemental coverage begins in a few days, and I am confident that Justin and Nicole have guided me well. I am new to Medicare and it is cOnfuSing. I did a lot of research on the web, watched many videos and finally got a fair understanding of it. There are Part A and B, Medigap A, B, C, D, ... X, Y and Z plus Medicare Advantage, and more and still more. I kind of knew what direction I was going when I called Boomer Benefits but wanted to get a handle on the why my direction was right for me. I spoke with Trey Davis and he was great. We spent a great deal of time talking about what I needed from these Medicare plans, he explained the ins and outs of the Supplement and Advantage plans, how they worked and compared and many things in between. He was very patient with me and answered all my questions even those questions which I knew the answer but just wanted confirmation and validation that he knew what he was talking about. I did say Trey was GREAT!!! I previously spoke with another Medicare agency and they pushed just one insurance company and only Medigap plans plus gave no justification why that company or that plan was the best for me. I just had to take the agent's word for it, no facts about the insurance company history, no rate history, no comparison points just this is the policy they recommend for me, had only general answers to my questions and pushed me to sign up now. They also offered no help selecting a Prescription Drug plan except for directing me to their website to enroll myself. Until I called Boomer Benefits and met Troy I thought I was doomed to commit to a Medicare plan without really having that comfort feel of why the one I selected was the best for me. Like many Boomers, my wife recently had to sign up for Medicare beginning this year. We had done all of our homework and researched all of the options that were available to her, including visiting the local Elder Affairs Office for counseling. Still, some of these decisions seem a bit over-whelming, not to mention costly. While doing research on the internet we came across the Boomer Benefits web site and decided to see if they had ideas on things that we may have over-looked. We called and spoke with Amanda for quite some time and she was kind enough to email us additional literature on choosing a Medigap Supplement or Advantage plan. We called Boomer Benefits to see if there had been a problem with the application. We spoke with Ally, who immediately interceded on our behalf with the insurance company. Ally worked with a customer service manager and the billing department to ensure that the monthly payment would be electronically transferred and said that if we had additional problems to please get back in touch with her for assistance. Boomer Benefits led me through the process of finding the best supplement policy and Part D medicine plan with no problems whatsoever. When I signed up for my Medicare supplement, I was told that it may take up to a month or so before they take out the premium as I signed up for direct withdrawal from my checking account. I waited 5 weeks and never saw any premium withdrawals. I then get a letter from the insurance company telling me that my bank rejected the auto withdrawal due to a wrong account number and that I had 15 days from the date of the letter to submit payment. I immediately sent them a check the very day I received the notice. A week later I receive a letter telling me my policy has been cancelled due to non payment. I called Boomer Benefits and talked to Flora and explained the situation. She immediately got the insurance company on the phone within 1 minute with a 3 way call including me. Her quick action and professionalism was top notch and Hmmmm.... low and behold the insurance company just happened to get my check that very day and I was reinstated with no lapse in coverage. If it wasn't for Flora at Boomer Benefits, I would probably still be on hold waiting for the customer service at the insurance company. It is so great to know that we have someone in our "corner" to represent us and handle any problems. After spending way to many hours researching Medicare Supplement Plans, I stumbled across Boomer and spoke with Joye Smoak. From the first conversation I had with Joye, I wish I would have found her earlier, although I needed to do my own research first so I knew what a gem Joye and Boomer are. Joye answered my numerous questions over the month before I could sign up for Medicare, quickly and knowledgeably. I was also assigned a Service Rep, Nicole Bocz, that was everything you would want in a Service Rep, available, knowledgeable, on time for scheduled calls, follow up to make sure I wasn't having any issues filling out the paperwork, etc. I was going to go with Plan F for the remainder of the year since I was only going to have 6 months of lower premiums to to recover my $183 deductible, and then switch to plan G January 2019. Joye mentioned that switching from one plan, F to G in my case, has some risks of maybe needing a health assessment before switching, so I went with Plan G from Cigna (not the cheapest up front but the best track record for rate increases) and Humana Walmart Part D. I HIGHLY recommend Boomer and Joye to take care of helping you through the MEDICARE maze, it's not as mind blowing as it appears, if you work with the right people! I was told by my Dr to stay away from Advantage Plans, especially if you are on specialty drugs (as in my case is Entyvio), because Advantage plans do not cover these type of drugs, Joye and Nicole both confirmed what my Dr told me. read more

When the time came for me to search for a supplement to Medicare, I procrastinated for as long as I could. My husband's job was ending and it was important that I find the right supplement. I want to thank Ms. Sydney Vaughn most sincerely for her invaluable help with the unpaid bill for my recent visit to the local ER. I have Medicare and United "AARP" Supplemental Insurance Plan G, and after the deductible is paid, they are supposed to pick up all my copays. Unfortunately, someone at the UPMC East billing department forgot to add my supplemental insurance, and everything was sent just to Medicare. As Sydney explained, the process is automatic, and Medicare should have passed on the unpaid charge to Medigap. Medigap claims it never received it. To make this long and sad story short, I called many times and wrote letters, all in vain! We received a bill for over $700.00 from our nearby hospital for a charge that I suspected was incorrect. Countless attempts on my part to discuss this with the billing department left me frustrated and angry. I called Boomer Benefits, the company that assisted my husband and me when we were signing up for Medicare. At that time they informed us that if we had any questions or issues, they likely could assist us. I called and was pleased that Amy Evans was more than willing to look into the matter for us. We uploaded the bill and our EOB's and Amy took it from there. Today we were pleasantly surprised to hear from Amy via telephone that she had resolved the issue and we owed nothing! I am a fairly picky (discerning) person. I met several times with a local person (heard from a pal) agent about Medicare. I enrolled in the necessary plans. Several months later I heard of Boomer Benefits on Facebook. I followed their online tutorials and comments/answers. I like face-to-facecontact and not really disappointed with my choices, I called BB and was "assigned" Laurie Potter (ASK for her!) Seems I was within my time to make changes. I was checking different sites online, trying to make a decision regarding Medicare supplement insurance. I discovered boomer benefits who was offering a 5 day info session on Medicare, what you need to look for and how it works with the advantage plans or the supplement, sending you an info sheet on different subjects for 5 days. This was so informative, I decided to give them a call. I ended up enrolling through them, no extra cost, because one of their benefits of doing so, is they will handle any and all problems you have with medicare, the supplement and the drug plan. This company and its staff members are fantastic! They helped me choose and sign up for my first Medicare supplement plan as well as my initial Part D insurer. Later, they helped me re-evaluate both plans and ultimately change insurers. When I was twice declined by a different, less costly Medicare supplemental plan provider, Robin from Boomer Benefits went out of her way (above and beyond what was expected) to get to the bottom of the reason for my declination. She spoke with several underwriters at that provider, was able to get them to determine that my declination shouldn't have happened, and then guided me through the re-application process.
