I originally relied on a friend's advice for a plan and to use a local independent agent (with zero resources). This agent also failed to provide a lot of important details relative to available plans. I am having a terrible time getting resolution of an application made for Part G supplement on 15 DEC. After calling several times and told "we are just the broker" and I need to wait for a policy that was to be effective on 1 FEB, timing is now too short. Also, they have been closed for 3 days due to inclement weather. I have sent 4 voicemails, emails to the rep (he never replies to my emails) and 2 requests on their client web page. Yesterday on their Facebook forum they indicated they were open at noon CST on Tuesday. When I added postings of my issue they blocked the postings on their FB page. Their phone message still says they are closed. In the meanwhile, I was able to contact the underwriting group of the policy I applied for. They have no record of the application. So, now what? read more

What can improve? Your customer service members who can't help themselves and keep stretching the truth about what "they can deliver and what Medicare has available!" I contacted boomer benefits when my current medicare provider stopped serving my area. I watched a video on their website and was very interested. I was told by the person I spoke to that the reason to use Boomer Benefits was their excellent customer service. I gave the person all my information and was told she would investigate the policy best for me and call back. I heard nothing for 19 days. That doesn't sound like excellent customer service to me. read more

It was all my fault and her attitude was unapologetic and entitled. 3 days before the end of the month, she had not find anything satisfying and she continued to refuse to help me over the phone with that stupid "as I wrote it in my emails". WHAT KIND OF HELP is it for someone who is not familiar with Medicare? The client is supposed to know everything we and do the job with "boomers". This was my second year on Medicare, and I reached out to Boomer Benefits for advice on my Part D drug plan. They ran all of my medications through their system, and found a plan that reportedly covered all my meds. Based on their suggestion, I switched from United Healthcare, which did cover all of my meds in 2024, to Humana. However, after I filled my Dulera inhaler (that I have been stable on for 7+ years) I was sent a letter from Humana that stated they would not cover it going forward unless I could prove that I had tried other inhalers first. Since I have severe asthma, I was unwilling to risk getting sick by trying other inhalers. So, I am now stuck paying $200/month (using a coupon) due to the poor advice given to me by Boomer Benefits. There is nothing I can do about it. The $200 will not even go toward my out-of-pocket expenses as it's not covered through Humana. The representatives are nice, but untrained, non-medical people who don't understand the ins and outs or fine print of insurance plans. read more

I called and spoke with Foster about all the options available for my father for Medicare. Foster spent a long time explaining how Medicare worked and traditional Medicare vs Medicare Advantage. He covered every area including current medications, doctors, and exiting care. I am so grateful for the patience and time he took with me to explain everything and find the best plan for our needs. They were very helpful at the start. However, I made a mistake in using a contact name (someone who had been helpful) to ask about the coming election period. I never heard back. Then I went through their portal and left a message and did get a call back several days later. But now it's too late to make any changes, so I'm stuck for a year. Lesson learned, don't use contact information you may have if you had been corresponding with someone. Apparently they don't route mail to another employee if the prior one left the company. read more

Had a good BB agent when I turned 65, but when I called back at 70, my agent seemed to be helpful, I did everything that I was asked by the underwriter, to change policies around, doctor note and ever I was told to do. After applying I was told boomer benefits didn't give them all my information, by a letter from the insurance company., called boomer-b agent, she never would call me back to explain, and another agent told me the same thing that she didn't supply them with a document they asked for, but no idea why, never could get the first agent to call me call me back, & then the second agent stopped answering her phone. Very disappointing and shocking how they would drop someone who they had been working with for a few weeks, without an explanation of some sort. It's pretty simple...I was lied to. On a Wednesday I signed up and was told by Cynthia G. that she would call me back the following day, on Thursday, with my account numbers to provide to my pharmacy the following day, on Friday. Cynthia didn't call. I called her late in the day on Thursday. She said, "You must have misunderstood. It can take one week to ten days to get your numbers". I was Shocked! She had even told me what I could expect to pay the pharmacy on Friday, with the numbers she was going to provide me with!! This company is a disgrace for hiring someone with no morals whatsoever!! So on Friday I strolled into my pharmacy...and paid them $880.00 out of pocket! Thank you Cynthia!! read more

Although I had excellent assistance with healthcare benefits; the opposite was true with the drug plan. A plan was started prior to my approval. I have Cobra coverage and DID NOT need a drug plan as the time. Once the problem was identified....terrible response. Although I immediately told them this was an error; they intentionally did nothing to rectify it. Both timeliness and content of the communication was just terrible. Ultimately I ended up having to disenroll myself via Medicare and had to pay for 2 months of coverage for which I had ZERO need for it. Worked with Tina on healthcare benefits. She was knowledgeable, polite and professional. Followed up with me for months while I was in the retirement process. She provided 5 star service. read more

Still skeptical about BB. They have a great Facebook group so I decided to give them a call. I got an agent who was pushing me into signing up when I wasn't quite ready since I still had 5 months before turning 65. I posted on Facebook about not liking the pressure. They never posted my post and I get a call from a different agent who is now my agent. Is this why, they have a good review? They hide the unsatisfactory posts and reviews. Are the agents just trying to get the commission, then they ghost you? I feel like they are just trying to get the commission and not looking out on your behalf. read more

Overall, very poor experience. I have a G.I. situation and it was obvious the agent was pushing me to a particular plan. I asked him to apply to a different plan which also was a G but at a lower premium and higher rated insurance company. He indicated he would not assist and I could do it on my own. I went forward and had him apply for the one he suggested. I did apply for the plan I wanted with an agent at a different firm and it was approved in 30 minutes. I asked the boomer benefits agent to cancel the application and he said I would have to call myself. When I called to cancel, the insurance company indicated the agent left several items off the application so it was good timing for me to cancel. It was obvious to me he was only interested in how he could earn the best commission, not help the client. Appears to me, the agent was extremely greedy or totally incompetent. THEY ARE COMMISSIONED SALESPEOPLE AND DO NOT HAVE YOUR BEST INTEREST IN MIND!! read more

My early experience was good, signing up for a UHC Medicare Advantage plan for my wife who is eligible for Medicare due to disability. The sign up, facilitated by Billy, was easy and the plan seemed to fit our needs. However, when UHC denied, without valid reasons, appropriate rehab care for my wife, I was unable to get any usable support. I tried to contact Billy, but was told that once you have a policy it is someone on the Client Service Team who assists customers. I requested assistance changing to a Medicare supplement; changing to another advantage plan; and most importantly trying to get help communicating with UHC who was not providing the records and information that I was entitled to by federal law. The people with whom I communicated on the CST seemed very junior, naive, and uninformed as to the issues with which I was dealing. They always had to "check with their supervisor," not a very reassuring feeling. I finally dumped UHC, which was a chore in itself, went back to original Medicare, bought a supplement plan, and freestanding drug plan. Had I known how bad the UHC plan was going to be and that I would receive no service after the sale, I would have shopped with a local agent. You get what you pay for: $0 cost from BB gets you a crappy plan and no service; a $38/mo plan from UHC is worthless. read more

I spoke with Chris Humphries and was educated on the different plans and which one would work best for me. He even provided me a different company who would underwrite a Plan G policy in AZ and provided me their number. After doing much research on Medicare I came across Boomer Benefits. When I called, I spoke to Sydney Regan.  From that point she has been my point of contact and she has been awesome!! She carefully walked me through the plans and process which is quite complicated to us retirees! After many calls and questions, I finally made my decision on which plan to go with (Sydney helped).  She made the whole process go so smoothly and easily!  Sydney is a rock star!  Professional, Knowledgeable, and super friendly.  When I called sometimes, I didn't leave a message if she was on another line but she would see that I called and call me back!  Now that is service! These plans are scams, nothing more than privatized health care. Which means, they make money by either denying health care, or over-billing the gov't. Don't take my word for it, do your research! I give Boomer Benefits the highest rating possible. If I could give 10 stars, I would. I retired almost 2 years ago. There must be a list of the names and phone #s of retirees maintained in and pulled from the stratosphere, as I was suddenly bombarded with daily calls and letters from companies offering Medicare Supplements and Vision and Dental Plans (Part D). It was frustrating. As fortune would have it, in my research trying to understand how the various plans worked and identifying a trustworthy, viable company to work with, I found Boomer Benefits. I was convinced they were my company of choice after that first call. The information provided by Darlene was clear and concise. Paperwork submissions were accurate and timely. There were solid suggestions as to which Supplemental plan would best meet my needs financially and service-wise. After getting the supplemental plan in place- and actually having to use it with pharmacies and doctors, I still had questions. Valaree Gray began working with me as "MY Client Specialist." I am so pleased. We found a great Vision and Dental plan. She is so knowledgeable and has shown great patience in addressing every issue I've had related to my Provider companies. She's taken time to clarify issues directly between me and my Pharmacist. I was impressed. I feel comfortable calling at any time, knowing I will get accurate answers. Valaree is so sincere and I trust her and the Boomer team to fully support me. I also give kudos to Boomer Benefits company as a whole. They are committed to customer education as demonstrated through offerings of online newsletters and seminars about options, rights, and opportunities for Retirees. My initial experience here as a new Medicare member was great. This year I did not get the same quick responses to my inquiries about making changes. I had to reach out to them twice. Their promise on the phone to send me answers via email never materialized. I ended up making a change on my own. I give them two stars because I know they are busy, but I believe they shouldn't say they will help you and then not followup with you. read more

I'll give 3 stars. They had very informative videos and were nice to work with. But I was signing up before I turned 65 and after signing up with a company...I decided to cancel and go with a different plan. I called on a Thursday morning and left a voice mail. No response by afternoon so I called again. The receptionist said they would send an email to the agent. No contact Thursday, or Friday or Monday. By Monday afternoon I called again. Agent was in a meeting, but they were emailed that I had called. No call Monday or Tuesday. Wednesday, I called the company that held the policy and cancelled it with them. I still haven't heard back and it's been two weeks. So my experience is that follow up lacks. read more

BOOMER BENEFITS - IS A TERRIBLE OPTION FOR GETTING ASSISTANCE WITH MEDICARE, MEDIGAP AND PART D DRUG COVERAGE. I made the mistake of going with Boomer Benefits when I signed up for Medigap Part G insurance. These insurance companies make the most money off of you when they sign you up. You are basically being preyed upon by these Insurance companies and agents. After you are signed up and on the plan a year you are basically locked into that plan the rest of your life. Because very sadly, for Seniors we have 'preexisting conditions' slapped on us after that 1st year. This locks into into the plan if you have any preexisting conditions for the rest of your life. This is why these plan costs are escalating in premium costs, increased deductible, increased co-pays ever year. SENIORS ARE SCREWED! There is no competition with 'pre-existing condition' (or called Underwriter questions). What makes me so angry is Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders want Medicare for all AND IT SUCKS! When Boomer Benefits has sucked you for initial sign up for Medigap Insurance; they cut you off like a hot potato and give you no help. I just called in to Boomer Benefits for help with selection of Part D (Drug Insurance) and you got a recorded message that said they were too busy and to leave a message. I got a curt message by on email (no call back) and it basically said no help with Part D questions and they referred me to their website, which was useless for the critical questions I had. I have had excellent experiences with both the sales and service departments of Boomer Benefits. The representatives have been knowledgeable and helpful. Yes, they are very busy, as other reviewers have said, but when I've needed immediate assistance and followed the prompt to speak to "the next available agent", it has worked out well. Service department representatives (specifically Becca and Brandon on different occasions) have given me valuable guidance about whether, based on their experience, a particular medical expense is or is not likely to cause reimbursement problems, and they've been eager to contact providers when needed. And the representatives in both departments have been genuinely nice people. read more
