The stops are so well placed I would imagine if you didn't want to use your car during the day you could use this. I also imagine locals use it too considering the stops. It is a nice breezy and free way to get a look at the downtown region. The only thing I would warn is about the bumpy terrain and lack of shocks in the Trolly. But for free it is well worth getting jostled around a bit. A nice find.

At that time it was just the founder Bob Miner and his wife giving tours. Now DH has grown to be a sprawling animal sanctuary that even had a short stint reality TV show at one point (really sad that did not continue). Currently, with all of the expansion, it is now hard for visitors to get a sense of how Bob started the sanctuary by taking in exotic animals seized by the Maine warden service and how creating a sanctuary for those animals helped him heal from PTSD he was experiencing as a Vietnam veteran. I almost wish there was a welcome video in the visitors center... In any case, this is an incredible spot to check out if you happen to be in the area!

The Place does have great resources, like for being a volunteer for the shelter making sure the…read morecats are doing well, they have 4 rooms you can go to except room 5 witch is for farel cats, and the real workers go their so you'll be fine as long as you where you are the first time, and they also have a coffee machine, so you can make coffee or hot chocolate, to help your self from staying awake, even after 6PM when the shelter is closed.
