When…read morechoosing new glasses they always give an honest opinion on what styles suit you rather on earging you to buy the most expensive pair in the shop. They will ask you what your budget is and find you some well within your perice range. They have made my children comfortable about visiting the opticians and made it a game when they were very little. they have books suitalbe for the little one to look at whist they are waiting to be seen.

Believe the adverts and you will be expecting glasses for around £69, but you will find with all the hidden extras the final price will exceed £200. Good eye testing service but expect to wait beyond your appointment time. When I made an appointment to make a choice of glasses and place an order, I was kept waiting for 45minutes before seeing a sales person. I was not impressed and would advise shopping around, hopefully you will be able to give specsavers a miss.

The staff are rude and unhelpful, with seemingly very little knowledge about glasses. On two separate days I was treated the same way by different staff members. In the end I was simply told they would not sell me any glasses because none of them 'fit' me. Through trying on literally over 30 glasses, I found ones that felt comfortable and didn't slip down my nose. However when I took them to the counter I was repeatedly told I was wrong, and that they were ill fitting, but given no reasonable alternatives even when I asked for help. The few pairs of glasses I was told to try on repeatedly slipped down my nose or pinched uncomfortably, and when I mentioned this it was not well received by the staff member. In the end I left when the person serving me claimed he was going to look for glasses that would give the 'fit' needed, and instead just started performing other tasks and whispering to other members of staff. I left with the feeling that being a young cusomer I just wasn't taken seriously (I'm 20 but look much younger), and that the staff cared more about being 'right' than actually helping a customer. I will definitely not be returning, apart from to request a complaints form.

This is a locally run opticians and Optometrists, and is small and perfectly formed…read more If you want a quick eye test and the newest pair of designer frames, you could go elsewhere, but if you want a more in depth eye exam, or a test for some kinds of visual disturbances, (such as Irlen syndrome or other forms of Dyslexia) than you should start here first! I visited last year for my first full-length eye-test, and the Optician, a very gentle and entertaining chap, really did a fantastic job. He went into great detail to explain various conditions to me, not just the symptoms but the scientific causes, and seemed to enjoy sharing information. The price was good, and the service was excellent.
