I use the chemist section quite a bit for prescriptions and there is a good value service where they order and pick up your prescription for you. The rest of the store is split into the usual sections, the one bit i do find slightly disappointing is the three for two offer section, especially at this time of year when the hristmas offers are on. The two tills at the front can get quite a few people queuing and people often use the perfume counters. The staff are quite good at giving advice on products as well.

The store is clean and tidy, with everything set out neatly on the shelves, easy to find what you are looking for. There are always great deals on the products, especially Boots No7 brand cosmetics. I love shopping in this store, they have a great reduced section too! If they don't have the item you want in stock, they are happy to order it in for you. Boots assistant needs retraining in Brighouse In my previous…read morevisits to Boots Chemist in Brighouse, I have always been treated with courtesy and in a professional manner. This all changed on Wednesday 19th February 2014 when I approached the till operated by the assistant Ruth to pay for an item. I told this assistant that I wished to pay for the item using my Boots points and that I also had a discount voucher that I would like to redeem at the same time. She informed me that I was not allowed to use the discount voucher at the same time as redeeming points, I accepting this explanation without any problem. At this point she appeared to assume that I no longer wished to redeem my Boots points and once again she gave me the price in cash. I reiterated that I wanted to pay for the item with my points. At this, she very abruptly replied "you did not make that clear to me" repeating this more than once. I politely pointed out that I believed that I had made my intentions clear from the outset; she repeatedly insisted that I hadn't. Her attitude towards me was such that I felt that I was being admonished in the presence of other customers behind me in the queue. Not wishing to engage further in an argument with her, I paid for my purchase and left. If there was a misunderstanding between us, it certainly was not on my part and I hoped for an apology from her but instead I received a scolding. I believe I am owed an apology from Ruth as I left Boots Chemist very upset and reprimanded. I am a very alert lady in my early seventies but I was left feeling that I no longer had my dignity. Boots on Market Street in Halifax is pretty much your staple Boots in any town centre, nothing more…read morenothing less, obviously it is a useful store and brand to have in the town but does not offer anything more than the basic essential offering one would expect from Boots. The store is a decent size and does have a Pharmacy. Although, be warned it does close earlier than the regular store on a Sunday when the Pharmacy closes at 2 pm, and the main store closes at 4 pm. There is also an opticians area. The staff seem friendly enough, but the service was a little slow throughout the store. Again, the product range is okay, but a little worse than Boots locations nearby, and their online website. Locally, there are larger stores in Bradford, Huddersfield and Leeds. 3* - A useful store to have in Halifax town, but in terms of opening hours, product range and speed of service is less favourable than their nearby locations.

They did have a decent selection of aftershaves, however there was no samples, and it just took a member of staff to spray it on a piece of card, they wouldn't even let me spray it on myself or get me a sample which was a shame, and also for me shows poor customer service skills. The overall nature of the store was pretty common for a Boots, a Boots that hasn't been modernised yet that is which is a shame. Overall, there isn't much else to say about this store other than it is okay, slightly below average in terms of what has been discussed above including the overall feel and nature of the store and customer service, hence they have struggled to even get a two star rating in this store's first ever Yelp review.

There are two Superdrug stores in Bradford city centre, this is the larger of the two…read more It's big, and fairly clean. There's a pharmacy and a Perfume Shop counter inside too. The make up section is extensive too, with a lot of choice. The staff are friendly in general, and there are always good offers. I generally find Superdrug to be cheaper than Boots due to having better offers. They now have a Beauty Card too, so you can earn points as you shop.

There are lots of babies clothes and toys at the back of the shop. This store has its own No7 counter and the women on here are so friendly and helpful. I saw one of them helping a little old lady choose some foundation, it was so sweet. There are a few tills so the queues aren't too long. There is also the pharmacy section at the side for collecting prescriptions. Very handy right in the town centre.
