Good little local store. Has a reasonable range of the basics. Pharmacist is friendly and has always had what we need. Right close to GP surgery also which is very handy. On the main high street with free parking right outside. Perfect. read more

The ground floor has health and beauty products ranging from sanitary products to bubble bath to make-up. Pretty much all mainstream brands are in here and Boots own-brand products are often exactly the same as more expensive equivalent brands, but half the price. They do a small range of food and drink for snacks and lunchtime, which tries to be healthy, but is just the same as you can get in most high street shops that are trying to diversify into lunches. Keep an eye out for lunch deals where you can get a sandwich, snack and drink combo deal for a good price.

Now, Birmingham... Let's talk Health. I have reviewed my Dentist and my Doctor, but there are a…read morehost of other places in Birmingham which are striving to keep us fighting fit. For my services which are not teeth related, I use the multiple places in Boots. Boots (as you will already know) is a chain pharmacy and beauty store - available in train stations, city centres and most places where you may need to grab a pack of paracetamol or some plasters. This boots, however, offers a whole host of other services you may need for a range of health needs. Upstairs are your beauty counters, hygiene products and gifts (the discount on gifts after christmas is particularly good - offering 50% - 70% off), but on the lower floor are it's other services. If you pop on the escalators and head downstairs you'll find an optician, an NHS walk-in, a doctors surgery, Birmingham Uni dentists and a sexual health clinic. With the doctors surgery and dentist, you will need an appointment. The optician will see walk-ins (depending on how busy they are) and the sexual health clinic and NHS centre are totally walk-in led. This, obviously, can lead to long waiting times - but if you desperately need a doctor and can't get an appointment at your local clinic, this place is a lifesaver (probably quite literally). As well as the various medical services I have mentioned, Boots offers a "stop smoking" clinic and other health led initiatives. When I first moved into Birmingham City Centre I had no idea where my local health services would be (I was dreading having to catch a bus out of town), so for all of those who work or live in the City - this place is your one stop shop for when you're feeling off or need some supplies.

There's also the more seasonal items. Currently there are sunglasses and lotions located towards the back of the store. It's never been overly busy when i've been there even at 5pm on a weekday which is perfect if you want to spend a bit more time browsing. The meal deal is a good price (£3.49 at last check) and it includes a sandwich/wrap, a drink and a snack (up to the value of £1.25 so go for the larger ones!). The service is always quick as there's never really a queue which is great if you're in a rush.

I'm only giving 4 stars because the Pharmacy is extremely busy which means the counter staff can be under a lot of pressure. Also, the owner isn't on site and the permanent pharmacist left. I don't know if they found a replacement yet but for some time there were locums and once I came in at 10 am and the locum had not yet arrived because s/he was coming from London and got held up in traffic. This meant I couldn't collect a prescription.

They have a good range of magazines, confectionery, and food and drink. It doesn't really get too busy in here, so service is usually pretty good. The range of make-up and perfume is quite good, and they have a lot of essential toiletries too. They do have good multi-buy offers on brand products sometimes, which is great. It's worth trying some of the Superdrug own ranges too, because they are pretty good and very good value for money! Sometimes they have 5% off stamps, which is great to get while you are picking up some essentials. Staff are friendly and helpful, ask if you need anything.

It is a great store because you can buy pretty much everything you need under one roof which I am definitely a great fan of. They sell baby clothes, beauty products, electricals such as hair dryers ect and fragrance. They also have a pharmacy where you can buy your prescriptions. I think boots is well known for its 3 for 2 products, which make good stocking fillers and save you some cash. You may think that every Boots in the country is going to be the same; generic, bland but ultimately useful. But you'd be wrong! This Boots is FANTASTIC. It's absolutely massive for a start so you're bound to find whatever cosmetic or pharmaceutical product you're after. And best of all it has the most helpful and friendly staff of any shop in Bath. Whenever I've been in, one of the shop assistants has been at hand to help me find me exactly what I'm after or recommend something new to me. This Boots also has a great range of cosmetics and perfumes which I've never seen in any of their other stores. My best buy here has been the new Prada perfume at £35 which was sold out everywhere else I'd been.

It's just that I hate coming into Westgate. Bah.
