A clean and airy take on the greasy spoon, the Bordesley Street cafe offers breakfasts, sandwiches, drinks and coffee a short but seedy walk from Moor St station. I was really excited to find this place as I'm looking for a place in Birmingham that does great fry ups.
Sadly, they don't do great breakfasts. Most of the items are pre-cooked, the bacon was incredibly salty and the "tomatos" were a lump of tomato puree dumped out of a can. But the whole thing cost £3.75, making it an affordable if uninspired meal. It was staffed by three incredibly nice women, the service was fast and there were tons of newspapers on hand. It seems like a great place to pop in for a sandwich, pasty or an ice cream from the freezer in the dining room. read more
