Made me go through major serotonin withdrawal just to switch to another SSRI. Luckily I was able to find someone else. I do not recommend her for anyone. It is completely unnecessary to make someone go through withdrawal when changing meds. You also don't withdraw meds so rapidly.

I regret my involvement with the mental health system, period. This individual profited on my life…read morefor over 10 years, before he "fired" me, as I had called him a name on his answering system (fat pig). After he fired me, about 3 months later, he left me a message, "(my name), if you don't stop calling me, I will have (the then Syracuse DA) whom I'm good friends with, come to your house, break down your door, and have you arrested." I NEVER left any messages for Dr. Donovan again, after my last message to him. But after receiving his message, I did call him and leave a message that stated, "Dr. Donovan, if you think it was me calling you, you could have the phone number traced." I also called the DeWitt Police about it so they could listen to the message. The police officer told me however, since Dr. Donovan didn't threaten to kill me, he would do nothing about it. Dr. Donovan also lied about his credentials on the Internet at least, also in his office as their was a diploma from Northwestern Medical School hanging there, though that had been changed. He graduated from a foreign medical school in Mexico, not one in the US. He was not a graduate of Northwestern Medical School in IL. There are other things I could put here, that I have on other criticisms I've made of Dr. Donovan, but I think the 5 star review is misleading.

I would like to preface this that generally people only leave negative reviews when things go…read morewrong. This review is no different. Initially things went very well and my Provider was awesome about her care and quality of work. Unbeknownst to me she left the practice and I found out two months later when calling for a prescription refill. Apparently this practice does not consider the needs of their patients when a provider has left. No notification was given of her leaving and the office was incredibly unhelpful in helping a patient find care quickly. All of her patients were apparently discharged upon her leaving. Meaning the 150+ of us no longer had access to psychiatric care regardless of need. No phone calls, no real means off communication. These actions alone tell me there may have been an underlying reason for my provider to leave. Shame on PCC for not doing more to help their "former" clients in need. It is my hope that not one more referral is sent your way and that the remaining patients are cared for in the proper manner. Once you are part of the practice you are there regardless if a physician leaves it is your duty to help the group transition. This is even more important when it comes to mental health issues as some do not have the means to properly find new help. Disappointing.

Dr was abusive overall. I did not find the help that I needed with her. It was my first time with a Psychiatrist and I still think how weird everything was from day one. In my first appointment she had somebody else, a student, together with us (not sure why I said yes but it was extremely uncomfortable). Then she prescribed the same medication that I used to take for depression - but triple dose and went to travel (???) It seems for me that she was always offering the TMS treatment and not sure of what my problem was, what made me much more anxious (or maybe I had no idea how Psychiatry works). She was very distant, kind of disconnected with my case. There was no privacy in the waiting room - at all - and there was always something wrong with my Bill.
