My best friend has Lebanese roots and Medditeranean cuisine is my absolute favorite. So I'm picky in this regard! I ordered the vegan platter which came with a lot of varies small plates with various textures. All the classics - salad with tahini dressing, hummus, babaganoush, grape leaf roll (just one lol) as well as some other dishes like green beans and eggplant in stewed tomato, and some fritters that were not exactly falafel. I think they were made with corn meal... that's not falafel lol. They still tasted delicious! There was also a little fried spinach snack and roasted potatoes. When I shared the pics with my friend, she immediately said why do they have potatoes that's not classic Lebanese, haha! Ethnic cuisine in Milan is okay. A lot of times the spice profile is toned down a lot ( I assume because that's what North Italians are used to) but Beirut's offerings are still quite delicious! If you're feeling super hungry after a long work day and craving various textures and flavors, do what I did and get yourself the vegan platter delivered to home!

Cold mezé tajin was the best ever tried, chickpeas, lemon juice, onions, garlic & cilantro: this was my absolutely favorite dish. Warm mezé falafel, never had them so crunchy outside and moist inside. Warm pita bread made upon demand in a wooden oven. I tried the sambusik but will not order again, the filling of meat and onions was excellent but pasty outside was too thick. Lots of vegetarian dishes, all very tasty. The Dolce Neve dessert is similar to panna cotta from Piedmont but the rose water and pistachios gave it a different twist. I still prefer panna cotta. A very filling and satisfying meal priced at 20 bucks each. Great value for money. Strongly advised.

Downstairs hosts a plethora of wines and upstairs is where you eat. We wanted to sit by the window so we can admire the Duomo but the sun was glaring in our eyes so we sat somewhere else. We started off our meal with anchovies swimming in olive oil that paired perfectly with buttered bread. My main dish was the saffron risotto and Ossobucco ( a Milanese staple). The veal was so soft that it melted right in my mouth. My brother ordered the Mezze Maniche alla carbonara with black truffles. Are there better restaurants in nearby? Absolutely!! But this wasn't bad for our first meal in Milan.

The second floor provided a more quiet setting than the first floor, which is really more part of the outside sidewalk seating... nice people watching, but very noisy! LOL The pre-set menu we had included a meat and appetizer tray, pasta, chicken cutlet, dessert and cappuccino ... we returned to the restaurant a second time for a quick bite when back in Milan before our trip home. The menu is a bit limited, so we settled for a small meat/cheese tray. Great location at this spot. For a chain restaurant, the fare is good! Cute plates too! Recommend Signorvino.
