Wow. Just wow. Best spaghetti ever. It was prepared right at our table in a huge cheese wheel with basil, cherry tomatoes and was so rich and delicious! Had their house red (medium finish), Dieci Monferrato Rosso, for about 10euro - you cannot beat this. Guests drank the whole bottle and literally ran a marathon the next day. Since Mink did such a good job picking a restaurant for dinner, I asked her to pick a restaurant for lunch the next day while I explored around Parco Sempione. She found Nerino Dieci but they were about to close for lunch so we rushed over. We got there with time to spare. The bartender greeted us right away and asked if we had reservations. We didn't so we stood in line to be seated with everyone who didn't have reservations. The place was full! When you enter, you immediately see their bar area. To your left, as you face the dining area, you see the grilling area. It's very clean and organized! It didn't take too long to be seated and we were happy they could take us so close to closing. We were provided English menus. Since we had time to check out their offerings online while we waited for a table, we had screenshots of what we wanted. It was a little hard to find the corresponding menu item with the screenshots at first. Our server came over and took our order when we looked confident with what we wanted to order. Just to be safe, we also shared photos to minimize errors. We ordered a Tagliolini with Clams and Spicy Salami, Tonnarelli with Cheeses, Pepper and Bacon, Milanese Veal Cutlet with Rocket and Cherry Tomatoes, Natural Microfiltered Draft Water and a Glass of House Red Wine. Our server asked how we wanted the food to come out and we said all together. It didn't take the bar long to get our drinks to us. After some conversation, our food arrived and it looked amazing! The Tagliolini with Clams and Spicy Salami along with the Milanese Veal Cutlet with Rocket and Cherry Tomatoes arrived first. Minutes later, the Tonnarelli with Cheeses, Pepper and Bacon arrived. The clams in Mink's dish were very tasty and the pasta had a slight kick to it through its sauce. We both really enjoyed the cutlet and completely finished it. It was huge so that surprised us that we finished the plate. The Cacio e Pepe was very cheesy and rich. It was really good but heavy. The food is delicious here and we can see why they have earned so many good reviews. Good customer service from the entire staff and they work nonstop due to how busy they are with the lunch rush. We walked in at 9:15 pm on a Thursday night without a reservation and needed to wait only 10-minutes to snag a table. We were given complimentary sparkling wine while waiting before we were led to our table. The ambiance is relaxed and chill for couples and close families. We were provided wet wipes for our hands and complimentary bread. I also ordered a drink followed by mussels and a couple of pasta dishes. [WINE] +Glass of House White Wine for €5 - 4/5 [MUSSELS] +With 'Nduja (olive oil, garlic, and spicy salami) for €12 - This was an extremely large bowl of mussels with a slightly spiced broth to dip the bread in. They provided a plate to put the empty shells and cleared it away with another fresh plate a few times while eating; talk about incredible service! The mussels were mostly good with some tasting slightly fishy. After finishing this item, they replaced the utensils with another set before our pastas arrived. - 4/5 [PASTA] +Linguine with lobster and tomato sauce for €26 - This pasta was good, but it was messy to break apart the lobster even further than it was already cracked. They did provide the tools to get the job done though. It's a simple pasta, but I wish it was more flavorful. - 3.5/5 +Tagliolini with clams and spicy salami for €16 - This pasta was great and had a nice spice to it. I would recommend this one over the linguine. There are other pastas on the menu which also look excellent. - 4.5/5 To end the night, they provided a complimentary Pistachio Cream Liqueur as they said it helps with digestion. I enjoyed it. We also saw they were serving "Grappa" which is a fragrant, grape-based pomace brandy. One of the bartenders let me try it for my first time, and it was excellent. The grappa was strong and warmed my insides! How did I miss reviewing Nerino Dieci? I lived within walking distance of this restaurant and we came often, especially when family and friends visited. The food is always exceptional. Definitely make a reservation at lunch or dinner. There is a good size dining area in the back, and a smaller area in front near an open kitchen. We sat in this front area one time with friends visiting from the West Coast of the U.S. The staff apologized for not having a table in the back dining room as a graduation party had reserved most of the tables there. We didn't mind. It's a bit more casual, and watching the chefs at work was a treat. Dinner and a show. Great steaks, wonderful pasta, excellent staff. Every meal, every dish we ever had here was perfect. If you are in Milan, this is definitely a place you do not want to miss for a lovely sit down meal. read more

Ayo y'all need to stop coming to this place cuz I always had a hard time getting a table!! Especially Friday and Saturday. That said..... a reservation is highly recommended. Food is amazing especially their pasta dishes, if you still have room after primi then def go for secondi and dessert. They are unique among Milanese restaurants in that they have a charcoal/fire grill for steaks and meat dishes. If you come here often they occasionally have a hit or miss new dish but nothing too crazy. Service is always impeccable, everyone treats you (at least me) like family and they know you by name, if you patronize often. I especially liked the black gnocco friti that could be eaten with anything. I also recommend the spaghetti with small tomatoes and a "load" of Parmesan. In the dining room, they mix the hot spaghetti and tomatoes in a carved out wheel of Parmesan. Super tasty and creamy! The staff was attentive but allowed us to take our time. We made a reservation on their website on a weekday before leaving the US, which I highly recommend doing. The best restaurant experience we had in Milan! We shared a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon to start. My pasta was prepared Parmigiano-Reggiano (cheese wheel) style with fresh tomatoes right in front of you. You also get a generous portion of cheese shavings on top of the pasta. My mouth is salivating just thinking about this delicious concoction. The hubs had the clam squid pasta, which was slightly spicy and oh so good. You can definitely taste the sea in every bite. Both dishes tasted so fresh and I'd highly recommend going! One of our best dining experiences in Milan was here at Nerino Dieci. We stopped by the night before to find them booked up, so we made reservations for the next night. Upon arriving the next night, we were promptly seated. For starters we had their mussels in their classic, simple sauce. I highly recommend ordering this. The butter used for the sauce is very light and allows the other flavors in the broth to flourish. I dipped every piece of bread into this broth until there was nothing left. For our second course, we shared tagliatelle with prawns and crushed pistachios. Another great selection that I'd recommend! Pasta was cooked perfectly. It had an excellent balance of firmness and tenderness. It was a savory and rich dish, yet it was not heavy. For our main course, I had the beef tartare while my girlfriend had the pistachio crusted tuna steak. The beef tartare was made table side similarly to how Mexican restaurants prepare guacamole table side. The crusting on the fish was outstanding. I'll look to add crushed nuts to my frying batters. Menessled in an alley in Milan is the charming restaurant of Nerino Dieci. The restaurant doesn't open until the evening, so when we arrived there was a line formed outside full of regulars. This is always a good sign. Once inside, the staff were full of some of the most personable people I've ever witnessed. Very welcoming of foreigners and showed us the restaurant. The place is long but small in size. If you have the right seat, you can see directly into the kitchen. I had an order of calamari to start, along with the complimentary bread crumbs that come with the meal. The calamari was good, but the bread crumbs were delicious. Freshly baked and amazing. You def have to make sure you don't fill up on this before your meal! I then had a pasta and mussle dish which was very good. Nice portions and flavorful. All dishes went perfectly with the great wine selection they have here as well. Definitely a great introduction to Milan as this was our first meal. Highly recommend reservations as the restaurant was fully booked when we dined there. The staff will let you know up front if they can sit you at a regular table or a high top. Our favorites are the fried dumplings with prosciutto and honey, the tuna steak, and the truffle/mushroom ravioli (favorite pasta dish on my trip). Ever have one of those amazing restaurant experiences where it feels like the entire restaurant is interacting together over wine, and the servers are also taking part? That's what it was like at Nerino Dieci when we dined here for my step father's birthday on a Friday night at 8pm! As noted, wine in Europe is cheap, and this was no exception, bottles started at 14 euros and went up from there, with the majority in the 18 euro area. Our chosen bottle was fantastic! Food - Absolutely amazing! Two dishes really stood out, although I must note, I believe the menu changes here by season! So what did we eat? Well, a lot, even the server was shocked by our order, but I told him we could handle it. **Octopus in pesto sauce - hands down the best octopus of my life! **Assorted burratas - I learned I do not like smoked burrata, but other than that, this place was great! **Scallops Au Gratin - ok, nothing to rave about. **Risotto - warm and creamy! **Pesto pasta - delicious! **Beef Tenderloin - SO SO SO good! **Pistachio covered Tuna - perhaps the best tuna steak of my life! This welcoming Italian Trattoria is located a short walk from the Milano Duomo down a welcoming quiet street. We made a reservation by phone (in English) a few hours before they opened and were glad we did because within 30 mins of opening all seats were filled. We were greeted with an incredible smile and seated among both locals and tourists. The menu is very diverse and has English translations. We started with the spicy mussels (yum and yes we soaked the bread in the sauce) and bottles of fizzy water and red house wine (delish!!). We had seafood and veal Milanese as our main courses. Both were super generous in portion and cooked to perfection. We were full and skipped the desserts, but were treated to limoncello by our incredible waiter. The service was impeccable, the dishes and silverware swapped out between courses and our wine and water glasses remained filled. The restaurant was fully booked for the evening, but I was able to snag an early meal (single diner) before the main dinner seating. The staff was incredible. Dimitri helped to select a wine and brought me a delicious selection that they typically don't serve (loved it!); my waiter, Alex was attentive and helpful with suggestions (he suggested a simple whole grain pasta with basil and tomato - it was incredible). Maya mixed the pasta (Turanici al pomodorino fresco in forma di Grana) in a parmeseano wheel right at the table (everything was as fresh as could be). We just had to give the table back at 9pm. Service was top notch and food was superb. We ordered the Trofie pasta, grand Padano pasta, lamp chops (these were soso), the grilled snapper, and the fennel & grapefruit salad as a side. After reading the good reviews, we decided to give this place a try. The staff are wonderful, the food mediocre. I started with fried sardines with sage leaves. The sardines were cut open, breaded and fried until they were hard and dry. There were no sage leaves to be found and no lemon or sauce to make them more appetizing. Then I had the sea bream with sea asparagus. Maybe the sea asparagus was in the pale green sauce? I added a side of vegetable caponata. I've made caponata and this was not it. Caponata should have the vegetables cooked down in the tomato sauce until it's almost like jam. This had lots of carrots that weren't very tender. We were too full to order dessert so we left. The food is not carefully prepared or maybe they need new recipes that add more flavor and oomph. Very plain and bland, not the special treat we were hoping for. read more

This restaurant is fantastic! The ingredients are so fresh and high quality, and the food expertly prepared. I had the gnocchi, and every bite was a creamy pillow of deliciousness. My boyfriend had the petit filet, medium rare, and it was the perfect texture and taste. Here, you order wine by the bottle, not glass. We ordered Chianti and it was great. For desert we had creme brûlée- sweet, creamy, and caramelized just right. They are very liberal with the liqueurs here, and left a pistachio and chocolate flavor on our table-very decadent! I had a lot of rightful prejudices against this place, but had to give in to a business dinner with American fellow colleagues who pushed for it cauze it's no. 3 or 4 on TripAdvisor's list. I almost killed the admin who gave in & booked us here, but she's not from Milan so how could she know? Such a touristy place downtown Milano, it reminded me of the awful touristy menus that many Fishermen's pier restaurants in SF serve. Frozen fish prepared with no love. Mussels - there were about 10 different options and we went with a spicy sausage one - something different than what we might find in the US 2. pastas - trofie with fresh pesto and mezzi paccheri with tub gurnard (???) Milanese cutlet - underwhelming, basically just a breaded pork chop, but had to get something traditionally Milanese 4. I wanted multiple desserts but narrowed to two - the DIY cannoli which was fun, and the 3 tiramisu which was unique - not just the traditional one but also coconut and chocolate flavors. I wish I had room for the pistachio mousse cake but alas, I did not want to get sick on my last night in Italy. We saw many parties who did not have reservations get turned away.
