We hired Randy to work on our Caledonia Forest property and had numerous issues with him. Delays over and over again, little to NO communication, horrible shoddy work that we had to go over and fix ourselves, and then charged us over $10,000 more than the original quote, after months of delays from the promised work. I paid him around $10,000 for tiles from Heritage tiles and he stole nearly half the tiles and refuses to pick up his phone or provide information on where these tiles are. After I called him yesterday, since he blew off my employee about the tiles and told us its "our" problem, and left a voicemail that he better refund the tiles or get it to us - he and 3 of his employees left us 1 star reviews on our Google page. THIS is how this man and his "company" treat local business owners? Months of delayed work, tens of thousands in over priced work not completed on time, steals OUR tile that we paid for, then leaves OUR business negative reviews? Unbelievable. I have an incredible builder now who is top notch. If you need anything done in Clarksville, hire Bruce with Saunders Construction. And what ever you do, don't hire a THIEF like Randy Whetsell and his company. Making up lies it took 8 months to pay. Your first original invoice was sent on 11/1. It hasn't even been 8 months. How convenient your price went up over $10K AFTER you were called out for your lack of communication and the terrible work of your team. Wanted something low maintenance and some landscapers gave me a quote via the picture. Myers stated that they wanted to see it in person so that they don't short themselves or over charge me - which I can appreciate. I also wanted to use as many of the stones that were already there, before having to buy more. While retrieving quotes - some landscapers told me they wouldn't use any of the stones since they were dirty and "prone to having them grow weeds on them". Myers had no problem accommodating my request. Also, at the time I only wanted one side of my house done due to costs. Yet when I looked at his own ideas in terms of other plants and re-purposing plants (and affordable price) in the notation of the original quote - I ended up doing the entire front of the house. Personable and extremely fair pricing - to be honest - his pricing was literally less than half of a highly reviewed landscaping company. We requested quotes from 2companies. JC (SHR owner) had his quote completed and sent to me within 48hrs. I tried waiting for the other company to return their quote to compare, but after 2weeks, I simply couldn't wait any longer...and am so thankful we didn't. JC was extremely transparent throughout the entire process, from the in-home estimate to the post-project review. During the in-home estimate, he laid out the project as a whole and each sequential step within the project to better help us with expectation management. The fact that he did this shows he understands, and has, a concern for his clients/customers being informed & satisfied and how to avoid any possible miscommunications. His ability to anticipate client's inevitable irritation at losing their "space" drives his commitment to transparency and ensuring his clients that he is moving as fast as he can given the unavoidable logistical factors/concerns. After each day he would he would explain what happened that day and what was coming up for the next day. Anything that would be further out than the next day, he inform us of that date as well. When his employees completed their task(s), he would swing by again to ensure quality work was done and would have his assistant record any & all "touch ups" for them to complete the next day to ensure quality work and his employees always followed through. Ray and Rachel (employees) were always on time and had the greatest attitudes, not to mention their skills were top shelf. He used a sub for tile installment named Brandon and that dude was the most professional "tile guy" I've ever encountered. He LOVES his job and will tell you about it too! Lol! Knowing that the people working on your home love what they do and are very good at it, means the homeowner(s) can rest easy knowing they're getting quality work. It's also a reflection of JC and his high business acumen, showcasing his ability to create and sustain great business relationships with other skilled tradesmen/tradeswomen in his field. No one ever abused our house or our time or were short with us...they were people I would actively conversate with if I saw them out in public.
