I highly recommend this course! Follow up edit: I took my state licensing exam the following Tuesday and passed it on the first try. And I was taking it with three other people who are on their second try and they didn't attend the same classes.

Hate to write this. Been coming for YEARS. But now two bad experiences…read more 1. Went for a keretin. Absolutely did not take (I have had many) Went back for a second one and same thing. They must have not perfected that service yet. OK I ate the cost of that. 2. Had a 1:30 appoitment. Thy sent me TWO confirmations. I show up at 1:30 told it would be a 15 minute wait. Ok. I had taken off a half day of work so that was fine. At 1:50 I am told there is no one here to do the service. After I toll time off! I was offered a "conditioner" next time. I was booked for color. Don't need a conditioner. I said "how about half off color next time" Nope. Can't do that. So I had to leave. I know it is a school but I had an APPOINTMENT--please CALL next time before I head over and miss work and certainly don't act like it is my problem and I should accept the gift of a servie I do not want or need. It looks so much nicer inside than last time I was there! It doesn't feel as outdated anymore. My hair is very long so I couldn't sit in the chair for my cut, and Cayla did an awesome job! She was thorough and l left with shiny, healthier looking hair :) They have little QR codes posted around the stations, but I forgot to scan it before I left, so I wanted to make sure to leave a review here! The instructor Eva was very knowledgeable and pretty funny at times. She really cares and wants all of the students to do well. I would highly recommend taking the course here vs a community college. As I mentioned I was done in 5 weeks vs the typical 16 week college course. They have day and evening hours available. I did very well on my exams and feel confident that I will do well on the state board exam. The instructor makes sure she teaches you all you need to know to do well on exams and to succeed in your career. They offer flexible payment plans too.

I am truly sad and disappointed in our Foss experience at Elmwood Park. When we started at Foss,…read morethe quality of instruction and kid-friendly environment made it worth the steep price. Our son loved his lessons. However, several major factors have caused us to pull our son out mid session. This year, Foss stopped offering any make up sessions. To us, this was unreasonable as the current session is 13 weeks long and the price is $30 for a half hour. Instead, Foss offers family swim as a substitute for a make-up lesson, which books out months in advance. Other swim schools offer tokens for make up sessions as inevitably, very few families are available for 13 weeks straight. We also experienced a major lack of communication with management. Nobody answers the phone. We missed a session once and when we arrived the following week, the building was closed. There was nothing on the website or any form of communication to inform us of this closure. When I called and asked why the building was closed I was told that there had been a note on the door the previous week (the week we missed.) Most unfortunately, the quality of swim instructors at Foss varies widely. Although our three teachers before this session were great, our most recent teacher wasn't in the pool when class started, had 4 year old kids sitting on the step for long periods of time, and put the kids in time out if they moved to the other end of their lane for their turn. Of course the top priority is safety, but she never showed the children what she expected of them. I'm still not sure how they were expected to get to the other side of the lane for their turn. I had to stick up for my son when the teacher put him in time out for moving down the lane. During the first class with her, my son only swam for 10 minutes total, as the kids sat on the step for the first 10 minutes, played games for 5 minutes and were sent out of the pool early. This is not acceptable when classes cost about $1 per minute. When I spoke with the manager about my concern, another mom was doing the same thing about the same teacher. Instead of listening to me, the manager said she'd call or email me the next day, but I never heard from her until I followed up a few days later. If I were the manager, I would be interested in knowing why families were ending their sessions. Overall, this lack of communication, and poor teacher experience is no longer worth the high cost (and parking nightmare.) We were hoping to keep our son (and eventually enroll our daughter) at Foss as there are few swim environments close to us that are as kid friendly. We know a lot of families at Foss who have had great experiences, but unfortunately, it was not for us.

Here are the facts. -They go thru a constant change of teachers or rhere current teacher take on a different position in the company. - unstructured rhat your counsleor, nor nobody else knows what's going on for future classes schedule ect... -The biggest joke, you have a teacher that meets with student out of Americares hours- to have a study group on Sunday mornings. Yeah a study group. That's non professional, especially since rhe teacher holds a higher nursing degree and apparently, doesnt know better. -Same teacher, refused to teach me over an incident that occurred- that had no doing of my own. I had my daughter willing to talk to whoever to explain & about 4 officers from a police dept. to back what had occurred and also willing to speak to the school. No one wanted to hear it. Just that this teacher didnt want to teach me. * I emailed the counslour, my previous teacher Michelle & Stephanie. ALL WITH NO RESPONSE BECAUSE THEY KNEW IT WAS BULLSHIT. I HAVE PROOF OF ALL THE TEXT MESSAGES, EMAILS AND ECT. * -So because of that - I only had a choice but to do night classes. And what kind of adult, licensed teacher, who also has a professional liscense, I beleive as an NP doesnt want to teach a student. Then why are you at Americare to teach. -Let's keep going - there medical bag that they charge you $375 for - none of it works and I beleive they purchased from Temu. That bad. - I went and did all my pre reqs there - incredible teacher! He is no longer there. GO FIGURE. -Then started the nursing program did Fumdamentals of Nursing then went into MEDSURG1 lecture MY FAULT DIDNT STUDY & I FAILED. So obviously I had to retake that course just the lecture part and then passed with an a 100% So all in all I did Fundamentals of Nursing lecture lab and clinicals I did MedSurg1 lecture and lab I did pharmacology1 Lecture - THEN CLINICALS. Then I had to take an ATI test. -Failed that. Well maybe it was because I had 4 or 5 different teachers and every teacher teaching or not teaching was something different - no standard across the board teaching material. Teachers do what they want. - The school offered no tutoring or anything and says you have 4 days to re take the ATI, and if you dont pass that one - back to Fundamentals of Nursing. I didnt know 1/4 of what was in that ATI of course NOT with all the different teachers I had. - One teacher, we did lab with, did our clinicals, came back and that teacher was gone. So of course with no help not knowing what to study no tutoring no nothing I re took and I failed it again. IMAGINE THAT. - Ok so Back to the beggining. I still cant take the day class still because a teacher doesnt want to teach me - so still stuck in night classes. But wait, theres a twist.... when I signed up for this school I signed up because it was hybrid meaning you do everything at home except for your midterms your finals your test out of labs and obviously your clinicals. Plot twist another new night teacher doesnt like the online teaching. So now id have to go in 2 or 3 times a week. Thats when I said thats it, Im done ! Almost 2 years wasted in time, money & everything else and nothing to show for it. -This school only cares about money, only wants to see you fail and is the most unstructured school ive ever been to- or ever heard of. I know there isnt much more options in Illinois for LPN programs. DONT GO HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE WASTING YOUR TIME & MONEY. - Re Cap - I dont thing Ms. Stephainie ( owner or head) cares about anything but $ - Consleor - Joke. Doesnt do anything to help you with anything. Can never get a hold of phone or email. AS soon as I failed that 1s ATI she sould have said - were going to do this so you have a better shot 2nd time around. ( NOPE - YOU HAVE 4 DYS TO RETAKE AND THATS THAT) - New teacher doing days and weeknds. Maybe made for an NP or RN NOT TEACHER MATERIAL WHAT SO EVERY. example: Had a lab with her. Handed us a bunch of vials, needles and fake body parts of skin. she acted like it was a show and tell, showed us nothing, said practice and didnt even have the energy or stamina to go by all the students to see if they were doing right or wrong. Oh, same teacher that likes the gossip hang out on Sunday mornings. SCHOOLS FAULT FOR ALLOWING IT TO HAPPEN ANYWAYS. - Financial Advisor - Only one with a brain here, very helping and he is and will be a brother to me. Easy to get a hold of explains everything to you black and white. And the only one at this facility that DOES HIS JOB & DOES IT DAMN GOOD. - In closing this review, is just the beginning. In contact with 2 different agencies to make sure this does not happen to any current or, future students.
