I filed a bankruptcy in 2017 with Adam Weiner. The level of experience, kindness, and…read moreresponsiveness of his office is unmatched. There are several options in the Portland metro, but the difference with Adam's law firms and others is that he is not here to sell you on something, but to help you navigate a difficult time and to give you knowledge about better options for the future. His rates were reasonable, and although I borrowed money to pay the whole fee at the time, he does take payments, as I recall. His office was very quick at responding to any questions or concerns. The reason for this late review is that, unfortunately, my family made a series of mistakes that landed us back in bankruptcy. Even worse, I let my embarrassment over our situation prevent us from choosing this office again and going with a much less capable firm. Don't make my mistake. Adam Weiner's office is the one you want, hands down. Having been through two bankruptcies, I have to say that this is the one I recommend to friends and family. They are very organized in setting you up for filing, treat you with respect, and help you navigate what can be a pretty overwhelming process. A bad law firm makes bankruptcy feel more stressful. With Adam Weiner every week it gets easier and easier and you'll end up feeling like you have a fresh start and were treated well by him.

Bankruptcy is scary. I'd been the sole source of income for my wife and myself for some time, only…read moreto have my job suddenly end, leaving us both scrambling. After months of living off our meager savings and credit cards, we finally found enough work to get by, but by then our debt had become overwhelming, endangering any future we might have been able to build. So, scary as it was, bankruptcy seemed to be the best choice for our future financial well-being. I reached out to Adam because of a trusted referral, and he and his team were absolutely stellar. Very open, very kind, very friendly, very knowledgeable (and very affordable), I could not have asked for better support throughout the whole process. The system has these things built in to help people in precarious situations, and we should take advantage of them when we need to. I cannot recommend a better law office to do that with than Adam's. He is one of the good ones.

Since we needed to do some additional planning, we found and met with another elder law attorney to map out a plan, who also stopped responding. We were referred to Nay & Friedenberg by the attorney who assists us with our real estate and Darin Dooley has been outstanding! He is always calm, provides us the options we have available to choose from, the impact of each option, and explains them in an easy to understand manner. We are so grateful for their assistance, we are now beginning to use Darin for our own needs, and look forward to working with him to plan our retirement. I cannot say enough about this firm, they respond promptly, patiently, and use a common sense approach to very complicated issues, which makes working with them extremely enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Going into this, I thought it would be incredibly intimidating and complex but it was surprising direct - not because it is - but because of the way Sam was able to explain things in a way it was easy to get. And I should mention that in addition to Sam, everyone there was incredibly kind and helpful as my wife and I set up our living trust. So after years (yes, years) of putting this off, we finally have the peace of mind of a trust. And not just because of some paper but because these people helped give us some confidence in the process as well. So lucky we were referred here!

Who is this foolish woman? Yes, Yes Mr. Cobb knows supremely what he is doing. He appears to have more clients than he needs because he does Good Works, is right by people and ~ ie: he doesn't advertise, because he does not need to. His office space is low rent with High Integrity. Dig that '70's shag', babeee! He has 'saved my bacon' at critical moments in life, and I do not hesitate to consult with him because he is worth the investment for his extremely sharp acumen. 2 Thumbs up!

I was referred to Phil from a hometown (Estherville Iowa) friend who I've known and trusted since we were both 5 years old. He has used Phil for many years related to his thriving Portland-area businesses, estate planning, and a variety of other matters. My friend Bob also doesn't like to spend a lot of money and demands maximum value when he does. And boy do I have stories... :) As such, my half-century friend came through for me again. The Law Offices of Phil Cobb are a little hard to find and is located in one of those small funky blocks which is a Portland signature. There's also a nice big park across on the other side of the busy street. The building itself has an odd multi-level vibe, with many other small tenants scattered here and there. Phil's Suite is on the right and with "signature" shag carpeting. He's certainly maintaining a low overhead and judging by the diversity of clientele and friends coming through during my visit, he's a popular and well-liked guy. His fees were certainly reasonable and I had to remind myself that you don't need a fancy office complex to offer the solid and practical advice I received here. He also did well with my Son's Mother who asked to come in and check his work.

I am writing this review because my experience with attorney/Arbitrator Adam Greenman (OSB #071241)…read morewas deeply unfair and ignored basic due process. In my civil case (Capital One, N.A. v. Stephanie A. Lukasik, Case No. 25CV32183), I gave written notice on August 18, 2025 to both Mr. Greenman and the Arbitration Coordinator that I would be unavailable due to federally mandated FEMA training. Despite this clear, timely notice, he proceeded with arbitration in my absence. The Clackamas County Circuit Court docket shows: * 06/27/2025 - Answer & Motion to Dismiss filed * 06/27/2025 - Notice of No Opposition to Defendant's Motion to Dismiss entered * No rebuttal filed by Plaintiff Even with this record, Mr. Greenman moved forward and held arbitration without me, disregarding both the Notice of No Opposition and my FEMA notice. This deprived me of my right to be heard and undermined the integrity of the process. In my view, this conduct is inconsistent with several Oregon Rules of Professional Conduct, including: * RPC 1.1 - Competence: proceeding despite a documented scheduling conflict reflects a lack of competent handling of the matter. * RPC 1.3 - Diligence: ignoring notice and failing to ensure fairness shows a lack of diligence. * RPC 3.4 - Fairness to Opposing Party: advancing arbitration in my absence deprived me of a fair chance to participate. * RPC 8.4(a) & (d) - Misconduct: conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice. I have filed a formal complaint with the Oregon State Bar and will continue to pursue every avenue available to hold him accountable. If you are considering retaining or working with this attorney, please be aware of how he handled my case.

I did not know the legal system and did not even know who to look to for guidance. I had talked to a couple of other attorneys but was concerned when their primary focus was to help me increase my damages. Mr Greenman and his staff were different. From my first call I felt as if my wellbeing was their focus and it was made clear that our goal was a fair and honest settlement that would cover my damages without dishonest claims. Mr. Greenman and his staff kept me informed at every step of the process sending me copies of all correspondence and when it came time to settle Mr Greenman made clear and informed suggestions to me, helping me to avoid settling for a figure lower than I was entitled to. Actually there was one area of the settlement that did come in lower than I had expected, Mr Greenman's fees. He was clear and precise about his fees before I signed the retainer agreement but when it came time for the final settlement I was delighted to see that his cost had been kept to a very bare bones minimum saving me hundreds of dollars. I have referred frinds to Mr Greenman and am happy to say that they are as happy with his help as I was. I hope that I never need the services of an attorney again but take great comfort in knowing that if I do, Adam Greenman is only a call away.
