While Claudia is a talented photographer and made me feel comfortable during the shoot, the overall experience was frustrating due to poor communication, over-editing, and a massive ordering mishap that resulted in my intimate photos being shipped to the wrong address. This experience left me deeply disappointed, and I regret not returning to the first boudoir studio I worked with. Makeup Issues: One of the first red flags was the makeup application. While it's great that hair and makeup are included, the makeup artist did not seem professional. The products looked old, dirty, and possibly expired. The MUA asked if I typically wore makeup, and after I said yes, she seemed to be preparing me for a poor application, explaining that "photography makeup is very dramatic." I reassured her that I was comfortable with full-coverage, glam makeup and had experience with professional makeup applications in the past. However, the final result was far beyond just dramatic--it was cakey and unblended, to the point where I would have preferred doing my own makeup. Studio Facilities: Claudia's studio is located in an office-type building, and I was surprised to find that there was no private restroom. Instead, I had to leave the studio mid-shoot and walk through a shared hallway to use the building's public bathroom. While this wasn't a major issue for me, it's something to be aware of, especially if frequent restroom breaks are necessary. Over-Editing & Retouching: At the photo reveal session, I loved the images overall but couldn't pinpoint what felt "off." After leaving, I realized that Claudia had completely removed my two small birthmarks, which I've had my entire life and actually love. It was disheartening to see them erased as if they were flaws. Additionally, I later noticed that the editing was excessive--Claudia relied heavily on the blur tool, making my skin look unnaturally smooth. This was upsetting because my goal for the shoot was to celebrate myself, but instead, I was left with an overly airbrushed version that didn't feel like me. Unprofessional Ordering Process & Major Shipping Mistake: The worst part of my experience was how Claudia handled the ordering process. After paying my invoice in full, I was told I would receive a link to review my album before printing. Trusting this, I approved my order, which included four products. Over the next few weeks, I received three out of four items, but my 14" canvas prints were missing. I reached out for an update on January 15th--one month after my order--but got no response. I followed up on the 17th and again on the 18th via email. Finally, I was told I must have been texting the wrong number (I wasn't), and Claudia later reached out directly, blaming issues with their texting system. She asked me to confirm my shipping address again and assured me she was investigating the delay. This raised red flags because I had already updated my address once. A week later, on January 23rd, Claudia told me there had been a "miscommunication" with the lab and my items were being reprinted. This concerned me, so I contacted my old landlord, just in case. Sure enough, my canvases had been sent to my old address--the one I had updated long before placing my order. What upset me most wasn't just the mistake itself, but the fact that Claudia was not honest about what had happened. She knew my intimate photos had been shipped to the wrong place but did not disclose this until I discovered it myself. Had I not reached out to my old landlord, I might never have recovered them. I did my research, I called many companies and photographers looked at samples and had my questions ready. Claudia returned my call promptly. She was pleasant and understanding of my vision and timeline. I was in a rush and felt overwhelmed to make a decision on the right company. I also felt insecure of my body and if I could just lose a little here or there or lift some of that my photos would be great. You see I am a plus size woman at a size 14.
