Jocteur was one of the very first places I found when we moved to Lyon in 2006. I ate there many times for breakfast and lunch. We could walk from our apartment in Caluire, and cross the bridge to the bakery. They have the most fabulous pastries, especially the raisin croissants.
Jocteur was the scene of our very last breakfast just before we returned home after the six month sabbatical. We have returned there on several occasions on every trip back to Lyon since then. We will be back there in October and I am already arranging to meet a dear friend, on the lovely patio under the trees in front of the bakery for our special breakfast. This is a place NOT TO BE MISSED. The only possible negative, if it is even negative, is that their specialty is pralines, which are not my favorite.
The employees are gracious, the food is great, the space is romantic, very french, and never to be forgotten. They also make delicious foods to take out as well. This is hands down FIVE STAR!!!
