The Kentucky Standard has a company vehicle with over 200,000 miles and it has this amount because…read moreAmerican Tire has always done maintenance on it. We were in the process of bringing it back up for some repair work and after speaking with Michael, who never seems to get a day off, we were told that some of that work was not needed and that it would cost us extra money that we could keep. Never in my life have i had a mechanic tell me that he thought that some of the work would not be needed. I checked with a family member who concurred with Michael's diagnosis. Anybody needing work done on a vehicle should take it to American Tire. Finding an honest mechanic is not only rare, but finding one that does A+ work as well is impossible. I recommend this company to everyone.

This shop handles much more than just tires. It is a full service auto garage including ability to…read morerun diagnostics and do repairs on semis and other commercial/heavy duty vehicles. I had a lot of work done on my car for various major maintenance items which I had priced both the work at the dealership and the retail price of the parts. Everything from a coolant flush to spark plugs to new gaskets (and my model of car requires an annoying amount of labor to get at so many of its parts...) and yes, a tire and alignment. All in one go. They detailed what the car needed, gave a firm quote and didn't start work until I gave the OK. Total for work was under 60% of what the dealership quoted and no, the dealership wasn't scamming, it just has higher prices (they've done good work in the past). My car handles far better than it did before and some potentially more expensive problems were averted. No complaints at all about cost or service. 4 stars rather than 5 because unfortunately its a bit of a hike from Louisville and I have only this one set of repairs to judge by. Still, I'd take my car back anytime for parts and general repairs. I have heard that a lot of the trucking companies in the area use them also.

Don't trust or buy from him. LIED to me so many times like breathing air. Bought a truck that was…read morea flood truck, rusted so bad the driveshaft broke. And then he said he didn't know it was that bad. Said he put on new Brakes because he cares, only replaced 2 and then said he didn't see the CAKED on rust underneath. Are you dam blind. Lie lie lie. Then won't accept the 90 day 4500 mile warranty after it broke and cost me $1500 to fix. Said sold as is. To bad. That's what happens when you trust them that much, they screw you don't care. Don't buy from AC or his disgraceful car lot.

I noticed a sound when I test drove it. The dealer told me that it was just that one of the tires was a bit more worn than the others. Now it's less than 2 months later. I still have temporary tags on. The brakes started grinding very badly, so of course I have to shell out over $200 to have that taken care of...and discover that the dealer left wheel locks on and took the 'key' out of the box. When I called the dealer, I get a condescending lecture on buying a used car and am basically told I'm out of luck. Now I've taken the car to an actual dealer, and the noise has NOTHING to do with the tires. The wheel bearings are bad. I absolutely will not be buying from Bourbon Trail Motors ever again, no would I recommend them to anyone.
