It's hard not to rate any food market like this as anything less than 5 stars because there really…read moreis something for everyone! I loved it. Always on the search for some authentic food native to the culture, you can certainly find it here. But you can also find lots of other stuff, too like tacos with fresh tortillas and mochi ice cream! FOOD: Some of it was great! Some of it okay. The smorebord was good but not the best I've had. Still I had the Danish meatball one and the smoked salmon one - both good but not great. Loved the fried fish and the pork belly! Supremely awesome. The mochi ice cream was a treat and the French meringue were simply delicious. I bit undercooked for me, but I can't turn down a good meringue. SERVICE: Overall, good. Nice portions. Great plating. And the people were all very nice. More like quick service but that's what you want from a place like this so you can experience different places. COST: Worth it. Nothing was overblown. All were a tad bit on the higher side, but not more than you would epxect. Definitely a fun place to go and check out.

WHAT A LITTLE GEM! 4.8…read more As we strolled around the area of our hotel, we came across this lovely neighborhood market. Flower stands with freshly cut flowers and an abundance of vegetable crates colored the exterior of the building's grounds. The enclosed building is made from beautiful glass and metal, with the inside feeling open and airy, making it feel a bit like a greenhouse with its natural lighting. We found an assortment of shops offering meats, condiments, pastries, baked goods, coffee, fresh seafood, pastas, prepared salads, sushi, lunch spots, cured meats, nuts, beer, wine, fresh herbs, sandwiches, caviar, ice cream, cheeses, housewares and gift items; quite the assortment here! The only thing that was difficult to find were non-food gifts for our friends that were actually made in Denmark. Most were manufactured overseas. We stopped and had a wonderful lunch at the very popular Hallernes Smørrebrød, seated at their bar. This market is definitely worth a visit.

Finally, a reasonably priced breakfast/brunch place in Copenhagen. The entire market has fresh…read moreseafood at actually reasonable prices. The fish and chips seemed to be the popular local choice, but I wasn't feeling fried foods so got a lunch box set which included crab claws, two oysters and a generous handful of shrimp. One positive of Copenhagen: they do not skimp on any seafood portion size. The restaurant is located in the marketplace and there's a small bar area where you can sit if you want to eat there with benches outside if it's nice out-I'm here in winter so, that's a no. Definitely stop by if you want a quick snack to eat while shopping or if you want a whole platter of various ocean animals.

CABBAGE. i told her i really wanted this taco and would be happy to eat it with just fish. she held her ground but luckily a guy came over and said he would go get some more cabbage if i would wait a bit longer. it's called service, lady! 20 minutes later i had a relatively expensive (65kr) 'taco' in my hands. it was more like a burrito, and it was wrapped in something more like lavash than tortilla. nitpicking aside, it makes a very nice lunch and tastes great. the pickled red cabbage and chili mayo goes well with the fish, which was perfectly moist inside and crispy outside. if you are looking for california-style fish tacos, you will be disappointed; so don't get your hopes up. this is something else but it's delicious.
