Even as a child this place had fascinated him. Here he felt an immediate and primal proximity to nature, combined with a fascinating inimitable worldview from such a high vantage point, which had already cast a spell over him when he was a child. Our first visit to the Merano area, we found this to be a great hotel - excellent customer service…read more Our accommodations exceeded our expectations as we expected the typical European hotel for four people that is essentially a single/double room that is wall-to-wall beds. We were surprised to have the downstairs suite for no extra charge - two bedrooms, a living/kitchen area and private patio (Camera G4). Our room came with breakfast included, which was an excellent buffet/spread. There is an independent Chinese/Italian restaurant attached to the hotel, which seemed to have decent food. There is a sauna downstairs and a nice swimming pool, but the pool area was humid and stagnant... not sure if that is the normal. We got there right as it was closing for the night, so we didn't get to enjoy it. The wi-fi is free for guests with passcode, but it didn't work well in our room. Good excuse to not be on it! If you're looking for a place to stay in the Merano area, definitely consider this place!
