When I arrived, I was surprised to find it tucked away at the back of a small shopping plaza. And just my luck--the hostess informed me the kitchen had just closed. As I turned to leave, she came running after me (I suspect the boss gave the nod) and said they'd be happy to serve me anyway. That small act of kindness set the tone for the whole experience. Inside, the restaurant felt warm and cozy, with the kind of unpretentious atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. I ordered the mixed grill platter, which included schnitzel, a meatball, and currywurst, served with potatoes and salad. The food arrived almost before I had time to open my book, and to my surprise, it was freshly made--flavorful, hearty, and absolutely satisfying. There are traditional tables and benches to sit to drink and eat. But there are also seating with Adirondack chairs, couches, the corner areas gave more intimate settings for small groups and couples, and the double decker bus was a treat to hang out in. They have a modest beer selection both draft and bottle. If you're not in the mood for beer, they have wine and some specialty (spirits) drinks. Don't plan on ordering a pretzel. They call the menu street food and I enjoyed their selection. I would recommend ordering several dishes and sharing. Don't expect a Michelin star experience. When you're ready to order drinks and food, you'll need to go to the counter. The staff is what you expect, laid-back and friendly. That's why you're here. Bring euros because it's cash only. For lunch, it was not crowded at all and we were seated immediately. I loved the atmosphere. It was a mix of retro and jungle explorer. That's how I would describe the interior. The menu was very clear, in both English and German, and they also had specials. I liked the food a lot but the highlight for me was the tea. I ordered the Blooming Jasmine and it was kind of expensive. I think it's a gimmick because you can actually see it bloom in the cup but it tasted so good. That's one of my favorite teas. We could have skipped the calamari appetizer and gone straight to the main dishes because we were full. I would come back to try the different menu items and also the house beer.

A fresh flatbread slathered with a delicious garlic sauce and stuffed with warm juicy chicken kebab sliced fresh off the spit and fresh salad mix.
