What a fantastic job they have done. Cinema lab is the company responsible for the redesign. They have a Theatre that they redid in South Orange, New Jersey. As well as in Colorado. Now there's a beautiful pub upstairs where you can get drinks and food as well. I had a delicious dry aged burger with french fries. The service was great and the food reasonably priced and the burger juicy delicious great flavor. Crispy french fries The theater room itself is really very nice now. Bigger screen. Upgraded sound system. Very comfortable chairs. Not like the rocking chair reclining seats at AMC. But these are wonderful. It's a whole nice experience you can go and have some food and drinks in the pub even if you're not going to see a movie. But it's perfect place to go for dinner and a movie. A lot nicer than just dragging off to AMC for a ridiculously priced popcorn and Microwaved food. Definitely come here and check out the pub and of course catch a movie in the theaters downstairs The Theatre building itself is 100 years old. Downtown new Canaan is lucky to have this wonderful Theatre.

That being said, the movie going experience was just "ok." The seats were completely worn down. The headrests looked like they had been through a war. One of the seats we reserved was completely busted and a mess. The theater we were in was only slightly larger than a standard conference room. The seats rows were on the slightest of slants, making viewing unnecessarily obscured. Then, through no fault of the theater save perhaps the patronage it attracts, the people in the theater had no sense of decorum, reminding me of why I watch at home.

We brought our snacks and drinks and the seating area was covered so we were totally comfortable. We've been to Ridgefield Playhouse for kids plays but Stonc was so much fun. All the actors were so into their parts, so enthusiastic and they really really could sing! Our 3 year old was a bit tired toward the end but perked up when Ariel waved at her. I am not a big fan of kids shows but I am so taking them back to see Charlotte's Web later this month. Highly recommend.
