Why 4 stars? Because the ice cream is great, but skip the brioche. --- --- --- I saw salted caramel on the menu, sampled it, and it was one of the best bites I had during my Utah trip. When stalking the Yelp page before coming here, the brioche ice cream sandwiches looked so amazing, that I instantly knew I was going to get that ice cream, betwixt that bread. But as it turned out, I should have just went with an old fashioned cone. The brioche did not pair great with the ice cream, and all it did was result in less actual ice cream, which was the best part. So get a salted caramel cone and write a 5-star review. Bow Tie Creamery had been on my list for some time, so I suggested to my wife that we stop in on my birthday. While they don't currently offer any birthday freebies, the ice cream was delightful! The menu offers an assortment of unique flavors that guests are welcome to sample. There is also a rotating menu of the month and a freezer stocked with pints of ice cream you can enjoy at home. The employees were very friendly and attentive, making our experience as first-time visitors enjoyable. We opted for the generous and reasonably priced single scoop cups, which allow you to choose two flavors. We loved our ice cream and even purchased a pint to take home. We will be going back soon, and I will, at the very least, be ordering the Nutella Gelato flavor again. I have heard so many great things about Bow Tie Creamery so I was excited to try it today. It was my first time going along with my kids and I was grateful the lady helping us was really patient! It took me a bit to decide which flavors I wanted and she let me try the samples I wanted to. I ended up getting Key Lime Pie and Speculoos S'mores. Both were delicious! My kids loved the vanilla custard. It was so thick and creamy. Our only complaint is we needed to use the restroom before our long drive home and the toilet was gross so my kids wouldn't use it so we needed to go somewhere else. But I let the lady there know and she went to take care of it right away so maybe they are usually better about cleaning the bathrooms. read more

I do like their ice cream. I have ordered s'mores both times I've been there (so yummy) so it's obviously good...but I cannot ignore the customer service. Like I saw another review mention, there are teenage kids working there. That doesn't bother me but I cannot ignore the visit my hubby and I had just yesterday. It was like twilight zone strange. We walked in and the two teens were helping a couple with their two kids so we waited. After helping with that order, the girl just stood there doing nothing (no interaction at all with us-nothing) while the boy checked them out at the register. After the family walked away, we were next in line, ready to order. The teenage boy just stared at us...saying nothing. No "hi, can I help you?" That might've lasted forever so I finally said, "you don't greet your customers?" then ordered what I wanted and let my husband finish the order transaction because I was so frustrated. I had to walk away. Maybe since I said something, he did say "thanks" as we left. That's something. We don't plan on returning unless someone reaches out and the employees are trained on customer service. There are other places, with (hopefully) better customer service. I have never had a bad flavor here! I love the simple decor and the sweet people who work here. The ice cream is very creamy and flavorful. I can't stand to eat off of wooden spoons, which is what they have here, so I decided to try their waffle cone and I am so glad I did. They allow you to sample the flavors and select 2 flavors per order, if you want. I went with the key lime pie and the lemon blueberry. You can see the blueberry pieces and lemon zest in there and the key lime pie had plenty of graham cracker chunks and lime zest. Love love this place. Went here twice while visiting Utah. I love small batch ice cream. I initially went over to Farrs Ice Cream and without even sampling any ice cream, I left the place for Bowtie. I didnt want commercially made ice cream because the quality is different and I really wasnt feeling Thrifty-like ice cream. Bow tie, however, is great. I love the unique flavors and the owner is nice. He started this shop at after being inspired by Amperstand in Fresno, CA. Been open since 2018. Quality of ingredients is superb. There wasn't a flavor I didn't like. I'm sad that I won't be coming back because my new job won't need me to be in Utah anymore. Sad times. Maybe one day, Bow Tie will make it's way to San Diego. My sisters, sister in law, and mother try to do a girl's day about once a month. Most of them live around the Ogden area, so when I learned about Bow Tie Creamery, I told them I didn't really care what else we had planned, we needed to get to Bow Tie, and STAT! Thankfully, we are a family of notorious sweet tooths (teeth?), so this did not require much convincing. In a state where near every business seems to close early, I am grateful Bow Tie is open until 10:00pm. We were running a little late, but made it here around 9:45, rather worried we would be holding them up. No need as the place was hoppin' - further evidence we Utahns need some late night options! They have thirteen standard and three seasonal flavors rotating monthly, including ice cream, gelato, and vegan/dairy free sorbets. We all sampled a variety, and the employees were so pleasant and patient, especially considering our large group. In the end, most went with a single scoop ($3.79), and you can get a double ($5.79), shake ($4.79-$6.79), pint ($6.79) or quart ($10.79) as well, but the smarties ordered the flight of four ($7.79). This includes your choice of four flavors, slightly smaller scoops than the single, and presented most adorably on a wood and chalkboard platter with steel cups. Also note, they use metal spoons for samples (thumbs up from mother earth!), and a wooden spoon for your order. Overall favorites of the group were Lemon Blueberry Cake Batter, Nutella Gelato, Speculoos S'mores, Raspberry Sour Cream, and Salted Butter Caramel. Everything tastes true to the description and natural. No artificial flavors here! While the style of ice cream they serve would be considered hard, they must keep it at a slightly higher than normal temperature, resulting in ice cream right on the line of hard and soft serve. The latter is my preference, so I really appreciated that here. They show restraint with mix-ins. On the one hand, it means your focus is squarely on the silky smooth ice cream, but for myself, I do appreciate a bit more texture. The interior was perfectly clean - it's all white and bright and pleasant. There are a few spots to sit outdoors, and every table has paper cups and a glass carafe of water. I LOVE that! I don't know what it is about ice cream, but it sure makes you thirsty, and the convenience of having a beverage right where you are sitting is a thoughtful touch. I loved Bow Tie Creamery, and will certainly return. My suggestions (not that anyone asked) would be to offer housemade syrups and whipped cream (maybe sprinkles, too?!). Can't you just imagine fresh strawberry syrup made with juicy summer berries? Have you ever had REAL hot fudge? You'll never go back to crummy store bought versions! Lastly, some housemade sugar cones (along with hot fudge, this is another goodie that is 10x better when freshly prepared with real ingredients). This is all right in line with their brand, and I think it would take an already excellent ice creamery over the top! read more

I got two flavors - Cardamom & Orange Zest and Lemon Blueberry Cake Batter. I loved the consistency of their ice cream, it was perfect! Not too hard, not too soft. Both flavors were delicious but that Cardamom Orange Zest was INCREDIBLE!
