Beautiful location, delicious food and amazing service. A perfect spot for the date night.

Absolutely spectacular experience! Yesterday my friend and I had the best lunch time EVER! We shared a bunch of appetizers so we could try as many dishes we could. Each of them was fabulous. Oysters wow! Beef carpaccio was my favorite, beats salad fantastic, yellowtail tuna love the presentation and the beef tartar was good ( could been a little more flavorful). The service was very good too. After COVID a lot of restaurants hire young inexperienced people who have no clue about customer service and hospitality.... Well at Bow Valley Ranch Restaurant you will be served by sure young staff but with a finesse and polite, calm and devoted to please you to make your lunch an experience. The servers and boss boys all were very well mannered. And finally the location is breathtaking! We were on the patio looking at the majestic nature under the sun of a perfect day of July. I will definitely come back again and again and again Nathalie

Bow Valley Ranche is located off the beaten track, right in Fish Creek Provincial Park. Don't make the same mistakes we did attempting to find this place. There's only one way to get there by car (don't trust GPS!). For some reason, certain areas of the park are closed off so you'll get stuck if you attempt to drive through it. Bike there instead. ;) The outside is beautiful. The house where Bow Valley Ranche resides is rustic, homely and quaint. It literally feels like you're eating in someone's cabin, albeit a fancy one. Outside fence is super cute. No bicycles and no dogs in case you can't interpret those mini signs. We were seated beside the fire. Soothing to say the least. Couple stuffed animal heads round up the decor. A little history on their menu. Cool how it's etched in. Brunch menu is short and sweet. Couple appetizers and then entrees. Their specialty is on local wild game. Pricey. - Stuffed french toast ($17.00) - Elk and asparagus ($21.00) - 2x Game meat burger ($23.00) - Sparks Farms eggs benedict ($20.00) This is fancy brunch and while everything was good, I wouldn't trouble yourself to come all the way out here. It was worth trying once but the price point will likely prevent me from coming back anytime soon. Plus, so many other brunch places in Calgary to try.

    Not sure... But it's good!

We made reservations for Sunday brunch, and I highly recommend it. We managed to get a table by the front porch, which was my preference. We ordered a ploughman's platter to share for 4 people and it was great, but the portion size is best suited for 2-3. We ordered the Steak and Fried Eggs, Foie Gras, Sparks Farms Eggs Benedict, and Vegetarian Fritata. The dishes were all delicious, well seasoned, portion sizes were a bit big for me but you definitely get your money's worth on these dishes. My only concern was my egg wasn't cooked properly, as I wanted it over easy, but the yolk hardened due to the heat of the plate which cooked the egg further. Other than that, the service, cleanliness, ambiance and overall experience was excellent and I would come back again for the next occasion.

Nice restaurant with a lot of history. A little pricey and therefore I recommend for a special occasion only.

When we were seated, our server told us the table time limit was "an hour to an hour and a half." Fair enough. Most brunch spots give you a solid 90 minutes. But 50 minutes in, a different server advised us we had 10 minutes left. That's a 60-minute window, not the 90 we'd been quoted, and it wasn't framed as an apology or a one-off. Just a clipped warning. Being abruptly rushed out more than half an hour earlier than promised soured what should have been a really lovely morning with family who I hadn't seen in years. If you're popping in solo for a quick bite, the kitchen earns the trip. If you're hoping for an unhurried meal with people who actually matter to you, I'd look somewhere else.

Kind, well-spoken, gentle, efficient, always a smile on her face and she went above and beyond. I had a 12:15 pm reservation. Unfortunately a group was taking much longer than expected. I waited over 30+ mins to be seated and so yes, I could've made a scene, but that wouldn't be me. Phoebe could've just let things be ... you know? Because "it is what it is". But she didn't. Once she seated me and my friend, she offered to take photos for me and of me. SO thoughtful! She also brought me a beautiful ice cream with a sparkling candle in it. SO sweet! She smiled at me every time she walked by almost as a way to make sure I was doing OK and feeling good. She was WAY more attentive than our female server who looked, sounded and acted like she couldn't leave work soon enough. Wasn't going to let her dampen my birthday though... Food tasted good. Presentation was beautiful. The male server who took over was SUPERB. Genuinely happy to "close out" our transaction with him. He was super attentive and willing to make everything go well. Thank you, Phoebe and male server for making my birthday memorable. XO

The space offers a mix of seating which had indoor tables and a section with food court-style seating that's technically still indoors but feels more casual. It wasn't overly busy when I went, and the atmosphere was fine. Since I couldn't decide what to order, I asked the server for a recommendation. They suggested the Traditional Benny, mentioning that making it "Canadian style" includes maple syrup on the side. I also went with the Get Shorty Rib Poutine, which looked amazing when it came out, but the flavor just didn't quite live up to the presentation. It wasn't bad, just okay. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but I didn't think it lived up to the hype. I'd give it three stars.

Today I tried the SHAKSHUKA Stewed plum tomatoes, lemon, peppers, jalapeños, Za'atar spice, chickpeas, poached eggs, cow feta, fresh herbs, French rye bread. Service is standard, open kitchen, nice ambiance showcasing eggs.

We were shocked to find another couple sitting at our reserved table--frankly, I hadn't anticipated it would be a shared table for eight in the first place. To make matters worse, we were rushed to order and pay the bill. After that couple left, another pair were seated at our six-person table without any explanation. Our dishes arrived in two separate waves with a 10-minute gap. They also automatically added an 18% tip for parties of more than five people, which I expect at least we should have a private table. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the server, the owner came out and became confrontational and aggressive. He raised his voice, saying I could "tell him what I am not satisfied with." Then he offered a refund, which I immediately declined, and afterward snatched a package of coffee from the counter and offered it as compensation. I refused again--it felt more like an insult than a genuine apology. After we posted our reviews, the owner privately messaged my friend, asking us to remove them and citing the "small Chinese community" as a reason we should support each other. That's incredibly manipulative. Using community guilt to pressure customers into deleting honest feedback is inappropriate and only reinforces our negative experience. I will not be returning.

By the time it arrived, everything was stone cold. The cheese was literally hard from melting and then going cold, the potatoes were undercooked and raw, and the entire meal was completely inedible. Spending $35 on food that went straight in the garbage is beyond frustrating, it's infuriating. And the $5 "seasonal fruit bowl" looked like someone's picked-over leftovers. A couple random pieces tossed in a container and sent out like that's acceptable? It's honestly disgusting and shows a complete lack of quality control. At this point, I would've been better off ordering McDonald's for a third of the price, because at least it would've shown up hot and edible.
