Typical work scenario for me. I'm minding my own business in the warehouse when one of the bosses…read morewalks out and says GO HERE NOW! Loaded up a truck and headed to Winters, TX. Can't remember if I've ever been through this town. Typical drive in Texas where I'm stuck behind 18 wheelers and of course at least one farm tractor for miles. Coordinating with my coworker who was driving in from Plainview for pickup we literally texted each other with a two minute difference in arrival time. The Crossing was the first gas station / convenience store I saw in town. Pulled in and once the exchange was done we ventured in for a potty break and drinks. First time seeing a salad bar in this type of business. And, it actually looked appealing! We've all traveled major roads in whatever state you're from. Yes, I've snickered at gas station sushi in Mississippi. There are things you DON'T want in this setting. Yet, The Crossing made it look seamless. Clean bathrooms at least on the mens side. Usual suspects like Hunt Brothers pizza present and a glass case full of fried goodness too. I think they do burgers too? We grabbed drinks not big enough for a million stops to return and went our separate ways. Ten employees working but nobody was super friendly.

Mac n cheese, okra, pizza, blt-all great! Cute souvenirs. Team members have a Christian vibe that's warming and inviting.

This place has horrible service. Walked in today to order tacos from the Laredo Taco counter. I…read moreordered 2 Gran Tocino Tacos. The lady said that they were out of bacon. I went ahead and ordered 2 Carne asada tacos. She then responded saying carne guisada. I said no Carne Asada tacos and pointed to the sign above. At that point the guy next to her commented saying they also didn't have that in a snarky tone. I pointed to the sign saying that it's on the sign. At that point the guy went off on a random rant telling me "I have signs all thru my store of items that I should have but I don't." I told you we don't have those tacos available". He said that on the most condescending tone. Loud enough that the whole store is now looking at him and I. All because I ordered 2 things that were on his menu. As a consumer if you don't have it, just say we don't have it but this is what we have. Instead he fired off on a customer. I was so flustered and embarrassed that I said " you don't have to effing yell at me because you do t have items". He then proceeded to ask me out of his store. I have never been more embarrassed because I wanted to order items off a menu. I can't help he doesn't have anything. I will never set foot on a stripes/ 7-11 or Laredo Taco Company location for the rest of my life. The sad thing about this whole interaction was that the guy who did this was the General Manager. I believe his name tag said johnathan/ General manager. He seemed so proud of asking me out of his store. For what? All because I ordered something from the menu he did not have. The Store leadership had a bad attitude and set tone for his employees. His interaction essentially taught his employees that it was ok to act like this. The general manager set a dangerous precedent today at 12:45pm. He almost seemed proud to kick me out. I challenge anyone from the Stripes corporation that reads this review to pull video footage of todays time and date stamp to see this. Maybe antibody can as having a bad day. Maybe he had a few bad customers before me and was fed up. All I did was ask for 2 tacos. I will make sure when anyone asks me of Stripes/Laredo Taco Company to tell them of this interaction and horrible interview. By default I have to give this place a one star. I wish I could give this location 0 stars.
