I should have read the reviews of this place regarding customer service and "Bob. " I got the same "I've been doing this for 40 years, I'm a professional!" When attempting to return an item via FedEx. Clearly the system needs to be updated and maybe BOB needs to retire if he's being doing that for so long and still can't scan QR codes or have any customer service skills. He was extremely rude and continued to speak over me and patronize me when all I needed was clarification. I won't attempt going there for anything ever again and will complain to Fed Ex- they need to stop doing business with this place. Came here for a FedEx return, and my email specifically stated "Bring the package to FedEx and show the digital return code above to an associate. They'll print a return label for you." ..NO, they won't. Bob was extremely rude and continued to cut me off when I was asking questions of "how can I return this" and said I need to go to 30 mins to Santa Maria because they won't do QR codes / printing here. I would like to explain my frustration with the box shop.Lompoc. I just went in there and had my phone and it said bring it to the nearest facility which is Lompoc and I insttuvted me to have him print the label. He was unable to tell me how to do that and proceeded to be condescending and say hello. My name is Tom. I am from box shop at that point. I walked out of the store. I said I asked him have you not had other people come here and ask you that he said he deals with so many phone services, I I don't I can't do that , so in contrast to the UPS store who are so helpful and kind. The trouble with him is he has owned that store for many years probably 30 years and he's going to retire so he can pick and choose how he wants to be to his customers. Box Shop Bob is screwing people over to mail packages. I have noticed this tremendously over the years but had a perfect example of an experience today, needless to say I will not return. My wife recommends the UPS store next to the 99 cent store. I went in to mail a package today. I asked for the most basic mailing. He told me he no longer does any ground shipping. He charged me $36.97 to ship USPS Priority Mail. When I got home I went on the USPS website and found that for my dimensions and weight of package it should have been $22.45 to mail priority. He over charged me and screwed me over!! I recommend not going to him. He is trying to get money out of people not help you. read more

Went in to return my Amazon order, stood there for 5 minutes and the older man kept talking to a lady that was there, did not even say I'll be right with you , I pulled up my scan code on my phone and he said they don't do that there, so I was trying to pull up my Amazon account, they did not have a Wi-Fi password, they were so very rude!!! Don't rent a U-haul from this place. The owner charged me for "optional" insurance. I told him I was covered to drive any vehicle through my insurance and he told me that he would need all my insurance information, would have to call my insurance company, and would have to re-do all of the booking paperwork. He knew we were in a hurry as we had 4 guys waiting for us to load the truck. A total scam! We were supposed to pick up in Santa Maria, but U-haul told us 2 days before that we had to go to Lompoc. They gave us a discount, that was then eaten up by the insurance. Dishonest business practices! read more

All in all, pretty nice and accommodating. They even open on Sundays as it gets closer to Christmas - just to meet your shipping needs. They have a notary on staff who, while she's not the fastest, is 100% ethical from what I know. Her fee is quite reasonable at just $10. Call ahead for her hours if you need docs notarized. They didn't always clean up after their dog in the parking lot and I stepped in her dookie - which I wasn't happy about. I grew up with dogs and I think it's important to clean up after them. If you can't, you ought to leave them at home. I feel guilty for still being upset about it since their dog has passed away and they have posters of the dog in the store and clings on the windows. I feel sorry for them now. I'm still dropping them 1 star for that experience - especially since they made excuses for not cleaning up. read more

We've used the Box shop twice now and this last experience left me with such a badd taste in my mouth I feel like I have to go home use mouthwash and brush my teeth 3 times. Others on this Yelp site have described this tall man with Gray hair well we got the same one when we came in period The 1st time we came in was to mail to packages it was extremely hard to deal with him then we had to wait a long time for them to come to the desk from the back no one is in the store when you 1st walk in period The 1st mistake they made was they were going to send the wrong package with the wrong label. The next thing that happened was we found out that from the store that we were shipping a package back to the they never sent the confirmation that they shipped it. When we confronted the Gray haired tall man with this mistake he said O you have to do it you have to send a shipping notification to the store! Seriously? Then what are they therefore anyway? To sit in the back on their asses and smoke pot? Because that's what I think they're doing. Then we came in today giving them another chance. We had 2 packages that needed to be shipped back to Amazon by UPS. We came in with the codes and they said oh we don't Accept codes! Then they referred me to a long laundry list of things that I would have to do in order to print a label so that they could ship it. I finally got one package done after 10 minutes and then when I started on the 2nd package he said O and be careful of exchanges. Or the other 1 was an exchange and it would have been nice for me to know that that 1 would be to hard to do Well I finally ended up walking out I just had enough I couldn't take this man anymore or his rude comments the final rude comment that really pisses me off was when I told him that the UPS store In Santa Maria was more friendly. This is not a full service UPS drop site. They do not accept or process Amazon returns using a return code. The owner is not rude but very curt. This man is so condescending. I walked in and he was training someone how to do something. Neither of them looked up when I walked in, so I waited. Patiently. Another guy comes in walks over to where the owner was training the girl, sets the package down and walked out. Still nothing was said to me. Finally I coughed to try and get their attention. They advertise there is a notary on premises which is completely false. When I asked the owner about the false advertising he stated the notary has to go where the money is. I suggested he change his ad and he said people wouldn't read it and it saves space. He started making excuses and was unapologetic for the misleading advertising. I've shipped many packages here over the years and Bob the owner is by far one of the most helpful professionals you could ask for. He always goes the extra mile to help or make sure your package gets where its going. Years ago I had a couple packages I was shipping off at the last minute for Christmas and accidentally left a Christmas card behind on the counter. After hours when cleaning up Bob found it on the counter unsealed and without a stamp on it. Rather than ignoring it or throwing it out, he took the time to look up my phone number and called me right then. Bob: "Hi I was cleaning up and found that you left a christmas card at the shop, were you trying to mail it? Or did you want me to save it or toss it for you...?" Me: "I actually wanted to mail it but I guess its too late now..." Bob: "Tell you what I'll put a stamp on it and send it off for you. The stamp is on the house and fully within the spirit of the season. Have a wonderful night and a very Merry Christmas!" There is a guy there about 50, with gray hair, who is the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with at any UPS store. In fact, all my dealings with UPS stores have been very professional. This man was literally making up prices off the top of his head that did not even include tax. he'd just shout out 5 bucks! 20 bucks! etc. I had an issue with my shipping label so he let me use his internet, saying it would cost $1 to print my label. That was fine. I got the label printed and then went to ship my box. My package was extremely important, of high value. I explained that there were special instructions for packing. he shot back that he'd been shipping for 25 years and didn't need any special instructions. Hmmm. I explained in fact, that there were instructions required here. I asked him to do a box in box. And place an inner label on the inner box. So he slapped the label on the ITEM, and I said, no, not like that. And it went on like this. Finally, he looked up at the ceiling, where I guess he kept his list of made up prices. "20 bucks!" And he started to take my item away. I said wait, I need to SEE you pack it, please, it's very important. He says, "If you watch, its 25 bucks!" He had the attitude like HE was in charge, and YOU were a dummy who needed his rare genius to get things done. He had the sense of humor of your grandmother's third ex husband. Not amusing or even slightly funny, but you have to crack a fake smile just to get through the pain of dealing with him. I was trying to get business done. It had already been a long day as I'm sure all days are with this guy. Anyway, I took my package and said, no, I'm outta here. He follows me out and says, "You owe me a dollar for the print out."
