Well from twenty minutes of browsing turned into 4 hours of talking with the owner and the other relatives that worked in the shop. Since I was in London alone and had nothing really to do, I made some new friends and saw some really cool behind the scenes info of how the clothing is put together. I know when I wanted a tailor suit from scratch I will fly back to London to get it from Nino. Here is some cool info about Nino's shirts. He only makes 13 of one style and then no more. So you would be hard pressed to see anyone with the shirt you have. I bought 2 shirts and 3 ties when I was last there and some other accessorries. Within a day the shirts were tailored to my arm length and I actually hung out for another 3 hours the next day drinking espresso and just talking about various things. I felt really welcome and almost like they were a part of my extended family.

I found a Rose and Lavender candle that smelled divine. I flipped it over to look at the price and I got brought back to reality really quick - it was £4.50. OK, so I am a cheapskate, I admit, but still, I'm not into spending a fiver on a stupid candle that's going to burn into nothingness in the long run. Ignoring my reservations, I held onto it while I perused what the rest of the shop had to offer. It had cute little knick knacks of all sorts - cards, lipstick holds, keychains, purses. I took a photo of the jewellery display. Then I went to the back of the shop and found loads of overpriced ugly clothes that only a wicked witch or a sexless spinster would wear and I took a picture of them. 'Excuse me, no more pictures please!' said a woman behind the counter that I did not even recognise existed until that very moment because she did not bother to greet me when I came into the store as she was picking her cuticles and developing blisters on her buttocks from sitting on her ass for so long embracing indolence with all of her being. I was annoyed to say the least. Like seriously, why can't I take pictures? Do you have a black magic banshee kickin' it behind the trouser section or something? I put my candle back and sprinted out of the shop. She could stuff it.

I believe this is the flagship Burberry store so I had to visit. I wasn't planning on buying…read moreanything at first but with a little peer pressure from my boyfriend, I couldn't resist. Service is outstanding. The gentleman that helped me was incredible. He was actually fairly new to working at Burberry but helped me the entirety of my shopping experience. I was also more casually dressed so I truly respect him for not judging my outward appearance as some other designer stores can and will do that to you. The selection is incredible. They literally have everything but I had my heart set out on the classic trench coats. The other thing I didn't realize was that since 2021, they have removed taxes on their sales, saving me at least $300, probably more than if I were to purchase it in the USA. Well worth it!

Once I entered the store I was not only warmly greeted but it was genuine. In fact it wasn't one sales associate but all of them. That alone made me want to shop. I tried on several items and left with a pair of black python looking straight leg pants. Also wanted one of their signature vinyl bags but which one I loved them all! So I got a black with their signature floral print. Signature as ai tried a blouse and t shirt with the print but of course it looked better on the bag than on me. As I hurried to the register quickly in fear of missing my flight home. Note they check your boarding pass and you are not charged duties if you are traveling out of the country. I asked the associate a favor please go through my British Pounds and I will pay the difference on my credit card. Little did I know BP expire so my $5 and $10 need to be exchanged on my next trip to the UK. Would definitely come back next trip. Also not to self they sell bags on wheels so if next time if I want to buy out the store I can.

I had a retro 50s design but the fabric was African. I loved the combination so I went in. The girl at the counter greeted me and was very nice and explained that they carry a couple of lines but that they are main stockist for a brand called Sika. Curiously enough the dress from the window display was from Sika. The prices are really cheap when you think you are buying a really original piece of clothing that looks as good as it fits.

After perusing the selection here on Oxford Street, I have to say that I don't think it really is any different in the UK. That being said, the store was very clean and the limited staff interaction that we had was pleasant. I hadn't come across an H&M with self-checkout before and I was intrigued. Imagine how bummed I was when it gave me a bizarre warning after scanning my one and only item and I had to wait for a clerk to come over. She explained that it does random checks and I was "lucky" enough to get selected. That minor delaying mishap out of the way, it was an overall pleasant experience.
