Dear all, I am…read moreoriginally from Spain and have lived in East Dulwich for the past 10 years. The transformation of the area is fantastic but I truly think that we need less Estate Agents and more boutiques. I truly love my fashion, specially having studied Business Fashion Management in the London College of Fashion. I have purchased a couple of items from Mrs Robinson Boutique and unfortunately a friend of mine, having visited me on the area, also decided to buy a pair of shoes. Within a few weeks of having them, they broke and they basically told her that there is absolutely nothing that could be done about it as there had been no other complaints. It was truly unbelievable and the man who runs the shop (bold unfriendly individual) was not pleasant at all. I have not bought anything else ever since and I will not do so either as the competition is high and they should know that. My opinion on Mrs Robinson's Boutique is as follows : - They have not got customer service skills and this is vital when facing the public - The fashion buyer does bring some interesting pieces but quite over priced, therefore, in my opinion - Not good value for money as you don't get the shopping experience incorporated to it. - They should also know that good after sales service is imperative and they truly do not offer that as a matter of fact is pretty much, once you have bought it, if something does go wrong, it is the customer's problem. Now I just truly hope that more new fashion independent boutiques come to the area and Mrs Robinson's boutique learns the lesson.

The Designer Warehouse is one of my favourite London discoveries…read more Not far from my home, and just off Seven Sisters road is a monthly sale for designer clothes - having heard from it from a colleague, I didn't really know what to expect. It was great and would definitely recommend giving it a visit. When getting to the warehouse, you have to leave your bag and coat (including your phone) in a cloakroom, and may a small fee of £3 (or 2?) to be able to get in. The sale is over 2 floors, and organised by designers - some are really well known, some are smaller names I've never heard of. It's not a posh environment, it's just rows and rows of clothes on hangers - and you have to take the time to go through them to find the gems, and also your size. There aren't any changing rooms, but there is an area where you can go and try them on at the back of the venue - it's closed off to men, but you do have to accept getting changed in front of other women. I am myself a massive fan of Vivienne Westood, and this was also the opportunity for me to try on a few pieces of her clothes - and yes, I did cave in and buy a top (1/3 of the original price) and a scarf. Good to know: they separate their sales between womanswear and menswear - their schedule is updated on their website.

This location is very easy to find as it's off the main drag of Carnaby street just off to the side. The black paint and signage make it easy to spot. The inside was clean and not overdone so you can really focus on the pieces there. I've always wanted a piece from here but was apprehensive because of the prices (I'm just cheap, the pieces are quality and reasonable for the craftsmanship) but mainly because since all of the pieces are custom made to your size, the items need to be shipped. Told myself for years I'd just go to their Los Angeles store but never did. It's so much more special getting a piece here though as the Great Frog originated here. Staff member named Jaws helped me out and was a lovely human being. Approachable and helpful, not pushy but made me feel good about my purchase. Walked me through sizing me for a ring and talked prices and shipping. Also was friendly that we got off topic talking about life and overall just a nice person who made the experience A+. I'm so happy with my rock n roll ring purchase that I'll be a fan going forward. If you love badass jewelry with a rock n roll edge and history, this shop is the one for you.

My heart sank when I saw the original shop front in Ganton Street boarded up on a post-lockdown visit to Central London. Turns out, they just moved to a new location around the corner in Newburgh Street - phew! With quite a queue outside as well, so the future seems secure. This is the original rock'n'roll jeweller and famous for its collection of skull rings.
