We would not have discovered this place if it were not for geocaching. We took the drive from Ft…read moreMyers and arrived on a beautiful cool day (for Florida). Perfect weather for hiking. The trails are well maintained even though some sections were muddy (not sure when it rained last). The trails are very well marked and with one of their maps in hand it is hard to get lost. We hiked all the way down to the Old Datsun trail and back 5.5 miles total. Being winter the bugs were nonexistent. We didn't see much wildlife given we were out late morning and early afternoon but I am guessing this could be a good place for birders. We were informed at the visitor center that a black bear had been recently spotted on one of their trail cams - yikes! We noticed the extensive list of events and classes. If we were visiting for longer we definitely would look into some of these. We saw that they have a couple large screened in shelters that are probably used for classes and picnics. Overall a very nice resource.

Located in…read morethe newer part of the mall, this little kid play area is perfect pit stop for the whinny kids who hate shopping (what, I didn't call my kids whiny, but they don't like to shop at malls...yet). The way the play area is laid out, you can can pretty much see your kids at all angles and that is helpful for me on this particular day, as I was trying to get some work done on my computer. Kids are not to wear shoes and socks are required. I love Sesame Street so this was a fun and colorful place for this kids to play. I love that too that they will shut this area down periodically throughout the day to do a thorough clean of the equipment. How awesome is that?! If you are visiting this mall with the kiddos, you must stop here for your kiddos to burn some energy and hopefully, help out with that nap that parents are so thankful for!!!

This stream of little kids -- wearing Jolly Roger eye patches-- following a pirate (parents trailing behind), walk down the dock and climb onto a "REAL PIRATE SHIP!" (I overhear, "I TOLD you, Grandma!") I am totally sucked in and watch the whole prep for departure. These three actors are ALL IN: first mate, captain and - unbeknownst to the small pirates and mermaids - dock mate "Shelly", who is really the evil pirate Pete in disguise!!! The captain reviews safety with parents while first mate entertains the kids and reviews appropriate pirate language (Ahoy, aye-aye and Argh!!!)... and they are off to find TREASURE! I had a chat with Shelly about the itinerary. They clearly ALL love their jobs and I was only heartbroken that I didn't know about this adventure when my boys were little! As a totally impartial observer, if you have kiddies of the pre-cynical age, THIS is the adventure for your trip to Bradenton/Sarasota! Good luck, pirates & mermaids! Here it is.. $125 got my wife and me 30 minutes in a room with "20 breakables." We entered the room and were given paper thin coveralls (that was an extra $16 btw) a vest, helmet, and glasses. The wooden table was setup in the middle of a tiny room with all the breakables on it already (pictured below). My wife swung a golf club at the closest bottle which then domino'd almost all of the others. 1 swing. Speaking of the swing, I had to squeeze into the corner of the room so I didn't get hit by her club. So there you go. $125 for seconds of actual action. My advice: do what other smash rooms do. Have a larger room and provide better safety gear (no extra charge). Have the breakables next to the door and a podium where you can break them one at a time. On a positive note.. the staff as nice. It's not their fault, this was poor logistics.

Only 4 stars since I thought there would be more pirates on the pirate cruise...I also will self admit I should have done the adult cruise...we have an 11 year old...that unfortunate age where everything is geared toward a younger crowd and he's too young for adult cruise...but he was engaged ...the crew adapts the show based on the vibe and age of kid it appeared...our ship just trended younger... I recommend getting on the top level...great views...had fun!

There were children younger and older than him, all thoroughly enjoying themselves. The check in staff were very friendly. We bought a small package for while we're in town and thought the price was fair. They have lots of different areas: toddler/infants (play kitchens, small toys, blocks, etc), art (including smocks), calming room (if it's too much stimulation) and LOTS of gross motor skill activities (exercise equipment, trampoline, rock climbing wall, zip line, swings, etc). The whole gym as foam floors and there are foam pits under larger things (zip line, jungle gym, rock wall, etc). Everything seemed clean, bathrooms were clean too! There's also a large party room... what a great place for a party. They are inclusive for all kids including neuro & physical diversities.

I am a certified school teacher, and have taught special ed in the past. I have worked with OTs for many of my students as well. It is so amazing to have all these sensory tools at your disposal at this playground. There are multiple types of swings, for toddlers and big kids alike. There is a rock climbing wall, and extremely safe, spring-less trampoline with yoga balls in it for play. There is also a zip line into a padded pit, and monkey bars with pads underneath, and tons of other activities. There is a toddler/baby area blocked off by a half wall, so they will not be overwhelmed by the activity in the main room. There are dramatic play toys there such as a kitchen, grocery store and baby dolls. My daughter surprisingly loved the car ramp! There are tons of other age appropriate toys there as well. The entire place is padded with the foam type of pads you would put underneath home workout gyms. There is a dimly lit calm down room, with a beautiful blue bubble wall, and jellyfish tent and headphones. My younger daughter is a little quieter and more cautious. She loved being there all by herself and had plenty of time to get acclimated to her surroundings. She was able to run freely around and feel confident. I would definitely recommend checking out the website to see everything that this place has to offer. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into the creation of this indoor playspace, from a very educated perspective!
