We were seen about 5 minutes within arrival, and the woman (Kayleigh) at the front desk was very friendly, as she took the time to help us pick out a tie, and helped our brother sort out his gown wear. The photographer (Juan) was a cool dude who chatted with our brother, and made him feel very comfortable :) We ordered the package with the cap and gown, so it took all of 30 minutes to finish the entire shoot! read more

It mystifies me why a company with no telephone number, no updated website, and no customer service whatsoever gets contracts to do senior pictures for all East County high schools. Not just once, but every year. All seniors are required to use Boyd Anderson, no other photography is allowed. Is it nepotism? Cronyism? Laziness? Is there bribery involved? The mafia? I understand COVID shut them down last year, but restrictions are being lifted and I still cannot get them to return an email. The phone number listed on their website is not good anymore. And their prices are outrageous. My daughter's school has always used Boyd Anderson, and I've always bought the digital download. It's cost me about $40 in the past. But now that it's her senior picture, it's $99?!?! For what? It's literally the same kind of picture and same process, but it's twice as much? And the pictures aren't even that good. Total crap! Reading other reviews, I'm afraid I'm going to spend this money and never actually get my download. read more

Yelp has the wrong suite number for this business, so if you look it up on the map it looks like it's at the other side of Grossmont Center. It's actually located directly next to Panera, they are on the inside of the mall, you cannot access the business from the parking lot, just an fyi. Park in front of Panera's and cut through, head to the right and their doors are right there. I stopped by here recently to pick up my son's school photos. I was surprised to learn that they had been here at this location for nearly two years, but I have to admit that although I come to Grossmont Center often, I don't enter the inside of it too much so it's not that unusual for me to not notice a store for a couple years. The woman who helped us was really nice and helpful, she was very efficient, she answered my questions quickly. The studio is clean and well organized. I liked the use of space. They were having a sale on all of the frames when we went there. Boyd Anderson has a lock on all of the photography for his school district, so I'll be back again in the future to get more photos. read more

My son had his graduation pictures last Year for 2020 at Grossmont. I have sent several emails, their phone number is disconnected and I have yet to receive the pictures. I heard they were taking pictures at Grossmont again so I showed up to talk in person. The owner (woman) was very rude and blamed COVID. She said they would get back to me. That was over 2 months ago with no word. I paid for these pictures and I have not gotten them or even a courtesy phone call. NEVER AGAIN WILL I HAVE ANY SCHOOL PICTURE DONE BY BOYD. read more

Could only do 2 stars. While their quality of photography is great- trying to get my daughters photos for this year AND last year was a nitemare. Nobody answered the phones. Nobody replied to emails. I even went into the shop SEVERAL times, given promises of just 1 more week, each time. I waited 3.5 months to finally get just 2 - 8x10's. Last year I waited 3.5 months to get 1 digital photo. Frustrating beyond belief. And zero offers of any sort of compensation for all of my trouble & time. read more

Don't waste your money because they waste your time. Not only did we make a purchase of digital downloads for $70(all images), we then received a letter with instructions to email them and give the exact information that was given at purchase. In said instructions you then have to wait for a response to receive a link for your downloads. Why couldn't the link information be placed with the sent letter? read more

OMG! I tried for weeks to work with Denise to obtain my son's senior pictures. I was told that she was too busy, that I was too emotional or I would get no response at all. I sent $108.25 via their website for soft copy of the pictures that were taken months ago and never received. After sending email after email and countless phonecalls, with no response, I finally gave up and had to get my bank involved so I could get my money back. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL BE GREATLY FRUSTRATED AND DISAPPOINTED! My son needed copies of the pictures that were taken for college, for friends and family and we're at a loss. read more

I am so frustrated and upset with this business. I purchased senior pictures for my son in October and I still have not received them. I also have not been able to get anyone to call me back or respond to my emails (around 25 combined). I began calling and emailing in early May when we were getting the grad announcements ready and I realized we still didn't have our pictures. One particular email sent on May 17th is especially frustrating because I have recently discovered that emails were sent out to other senior parents at our school for May 20th pick ups. We never received any email about pick ups. The only email we received from them in the past 3 months was the one they sent saying they were closed due to Covid on March 20th. Not only did we not get to send our son's senior pictures in the graduation announcement, we also did not get to send it to his grandparents in Colorado. This was especially frustrating because we knew his grandfather's cancer was getting worse, quickly. I called and emailed multiple times, hoping to be able to get the pictures sent out, but NO ONE would respond. When my father-in-law eventually passed, I again tried to get a hold of someone so we could at least take them back to my mother in law but again, NO ONE would respond. To this day, I have not received my son's senior pictures. School is out, summer has begun, and Boyd Anderson is still taking pictures and orders and NOT responding to my pleas. They are NOT closed down because of Covid, I have several parents who have told me they were contacted by this company and have picked up their pictures. What is wrong with these people?!?! They have no heart, no integrity, and no business being in this business. Don't waste you money with this company! read more

I ordered Freshman pictures in Feb and they never mailed these. So I reached out and agreed to pick them up...then Covid hit. I have emailed repeatedly and called many times to have them mailed. Also dont take a pic of a student and then a week later call and tell her the senior picture that your photographer took will have to be retaken at an additional cost because her shoulders were exposed during the photo session. read more

The worst photography company I've ever dealt with for school pics. I purchased my sons pics on May 1st. June I called to follow up as I never received notice that the pictures were ready for pick up. Within a day or 2 I got a call back and the lady on the other end said oh I have them here they weren't processed for some reason, I'll add them now and we will let you know when they're ready for pick up. Crickets from then on. I would call and leave messages and even emails. Every time I left my contact info. I even went as far as threatening KUSI on them! Still nothing. I finally contacted the school this wk on sept 26th.... the lady said she would call the owner and get back to me. What do you know, my pictures came in the mail today. Guess what they're horribly LAME excuse was.. they didn't have the right contact info for me. Sad that a company that the school uses resorted to LYING as a reason for me not getting the pictures I ordered. I even told the lady at the school that but unfortunately she seemed unfazed by that which is sad in itself. read more

I went there to take my senior photos and the staff there was extremely friendly and patient. The lady that photographed me (I forgot her name) was very nice and comfortable to be around. She made me genuinely smile and I didn't feel awkward. Also, in the dressing rooms, the provide items to fix yourself up with, which I find very helpful. I've been waiting 8 weeks for school pictures to be mailed to me and their website says 3-4 weeks. I spoke with a rep who called me back after leaving a voicemail today and even though my order was specifically stated for delivery since child lives 5-6 counties over from us - they had it slotted to send to the school.
