The staff here are INCOMPETENT and IGNORANT, including the snarky manager Julia!!! Just BE WARNED that they can single a child out arbitrarily and pass/fail them on a whim from teenage staff even after you pay and ruin your child's day! Since your response was spin and avoided all FACTS!!! Here are some questions that you IGNORED... Mt. Gretna Lake and Beach why was my son "safe" to multiple lifeguards a year prior who allowed him to go past the rope many times and do the jump? (I have video evidence) Were they not doing their job??? Why was my son the only child targets by the lifeguards and made to do the test? There were many children that day his size or smaller. That included a boy who was terrified to jump and paced the dive for nearly 10min holding on for dear life. More importantly, the boy could not swim at all and his parents had to bring him a tube to drag him back. My son swam unassisted last year and on Sunday. Not a single lifeguard whistled or said a thing to the terrified boy and his parents and they even allowed him to go past the rope after that whole incident. I also have video footage of this. What do you have to say about this incident that went on for 10min and was obvious to anyone there that day? Your staff is incompetent, unprofessional, and unreasonable. You targeted my family and let other major safety concerns slide. I was/am furious and will spread her word. Good thing everything on here in FACT and I can prove with videos unlike your biased spin! I did find the water to be fairly clean and clear. We both even got nibbled on by some fish! The swim area does have a beach complete with sand, but we went around the corner to a small inlet at the end of a trail and swam where there were no people. Its a nice day trip. Check it out.

They have no common courtesy, nor do they have any sense for rules of boating. They seem to roam in packs and have no consideration for other than themselves! The other issue is the location of handicapped parking. The only parking place is designated for handicapped parking are located quite a distance from the docking area, and it makes it hard to get close without being dropped off and then going back to get the car later. There are however, handicap spaces marked for trucks or cars with trailers, which are located very close to the docking area, but none designated for just vehicles with handicapped placards.

It's good to have that 2nd bar so you don't have to walk through people soaking wet to get a drink. I still used the main bar for most of the night though actually, because I wasn't sure if the tiki bar had all of the same drinks or not. Next time I'll have to try it. The only things that annoyed me were the bartenders weren't consistant, they all charged different prices for the same drink. The drinks are also overpriced and hardly any alcohol in it. The one citron mojito drink I ordered was gross, I should have sent it back. It didn't taste like mojito at all. It had a very faint lemon taste, but most of it tasted like flat/bad club soda. The service was also slow, my friend ended up having to go to the other bar because the bartenders were ignoring her. Next time I will have to try to pregame first. Also the bands/ DJs play mostly wedding type music now it seems. They were playing a lot of older songs, some classic songs, only a few newer songs but they were still a few years old. I like bands that play some top 40 songs. I think if they played more newer songs it would attract more of a crowd also. The first year we came here it seemed fairly crowded with a lot of people by the DJ dancing. Every time we come back it seems like fewer people are there, and hardly anyone is dancing. Also it would be nice if they had bathrooms right by the pool area. It's a pain to have to walk all the way in the building by the casino. Everyone probably pees in the pool because of this. It also would be nice if waiters come around to everyone, not just people that rent cabanas. Also would like a hot tub! Overall we still had a really good time, there's just some things that could be improved. I think this is going to be my last birthday here. But we will still come back another night when we just want to swim and chill.

We camped at French Creek State Park for Easter weekend (3 nights, 4 days), and overall it was a…read morereally solid trip with one pretty noticeable downside. We stayed in Loop C, where our group has camped for the past few years. The sites themselves are decent some a little tighter than others, but generally well maintained. Each spot has a partial paved pad for the camper, a gravel area with a fire ring, and a picnic table. It's wooded, quiet, and has that classic PA campground feel. There's plenty to do here... hiking trails, a lake for canoeing, disc golf, a playground, and a large pool (closed during our stay but opens Memorial Day weekend). The campground was actually pretty full for Easter weekend, which says a lot about how popular it is. Park rangers are definitely present and take rules seriously (especially bikes without helmets or lights), which is great for safety. But... the bathhouse situation needs attention. For a loop with around 40 sites including tents, campers, yurts, and cabins-- there were only 2 showers and 2 restrooms. On top of that, cleanliness and upkeep just weren't where they should be for a state park. That was honestly the biggest letdown of the trip. We also had some rough weather, but that's camping... you roll with it. Overall, it's a beautiful park with a lot to offer, and we'll likely be back. Just hoping the bathhouse situation gets some upgrades, because that's the one thing holding it back from being a really great campground.
