It's nice to sit in the comfy chairs and browse the newest books. Before I had a laptop, I would go there to get some work done on a borrowed computer. We borrow movies to watch while we're up there on vacation. Using the website, we can check out the holdings before we get to town. When we're there, we check out the bulletin board in the front hall. It lists a lot of local events. One time we attended a free resume writing seminar offered by Michigan Works! and held at the library. We met a very encouraging person from Michigan Works! who helped us a lot.

There are computers, iPads, and you can get help with ebooks. There's a teen area, separate meeting spaces, and they host a variety of activities/functions. Fine dining, fast food, breweries, and local spots are all options. They also have a series of fudge and ice cream shops that will test your diet will. Petoskey is one of those up north towns that has peak tourist seasons three times a year. Summer, fall, and winter. The prices can be inflated during this time. Dont let that scare you away though, because it is worth it! Nature is all around. If you like to hike or ride bikes then there are a TON of options. They also have a pretty large casino. I didnt go there, but it has changed the landscape. It has brought a ton of chain restaurants. Some people like it and some of the locals dont. It has definitely brought more traffic. If you get a chance come check this place out. Highly recommended

This is the Mission Point Lighthouse and also part of the state park district. This is a quaint…read morelittle lighthouse, situated at the end of the Old Mission Peninsula. The drive up here is absolutely beautiful and well worth the trip. The lighthouse is on a little hill that overlooks the lake with a couple nice places to sit and enjoy the scenery. The charge is $4 to go up the top, which we declined to do, as the place is tiny and super cramped inside. We did though, walk all the way out to the end of the peninsula. It is a bit of a hike, so wear some good shoes. The walk is worth it though, and there are some cool things to see along the way. It takes about an hour there and back, and make sure to stop and throw a rock on the pile!

On a summertime trip Up North, we decided to check out the SkyBridge on Boyne Mountain…read more After a quick sprint through the Bavarian style ski resort below, we boarded the ski lift to the top. As we soared high above the meadows, we saw deer lazily grazing at the edges of the small groves that dotted the way to the top. After exiting the lift at the top, we walked a short distance to the suspension bridge. I'm not a fan of heights, but I felt very secure on the bridge, even at the points where it is furthest from the ground. We were rewarded with a fun apres-ski setup on the other side and access to some meandering trails. We hung out for a short while before taking the lift back down. Definitely a great spot to check out while you're nearby!

My first visit here was in late October and it was breathtakingly beautiful. My wine group and I…read morestarted our day here and had no wait. The fireplace and adult beverages at the top was a nice surprise! We hopped off the 8 person chair lift to a very nice area including bathrooms. Today, however, was a completely different story. I took my girls, husband, and 80 year old father-in-law based on how things were in the fall. No 8 person chair lift. Instead we took 2 person slow as he!! chair lifts to the top on the opposite side, got off where tons off skiers were, and had to walk over their ski path as there was no actual walking path. Not ideal for an 80 year old. There was no fireplace, bathrooms, or beverages in this side. They were, however, on the other side and that was very nice. I don't recommend this place in the early spring. The fall was gorgeous.

A few of the small town terminals I've dealt with have huge issues. Makes no sense because they are soooo small, everything should run smooth. Not only is the flow seamless, the ladies are super sweet and even my carrier bends over backwards to deliver packages and the such. You really only need Street parking out front. There is overflow in the back, not too much and you could probably get away with parking in the hardware across the road or the cafe next door. I don't think it'll ever get so busy you'll need to. They have PO Box section and package pick-up. If the load is big enough you can drive around back to the well and your boxes will be waiting! 12/23
