A nice feature of this rest stop is the short walking path that takes you down to the Yellowstone river, which is flowing pretty quickly in this area, and from where you can get a very impressive view of Emigrant Peak. Depending on the time of day, it'll be like existing in the middle of a postcard picture. Even if you don't need the break from driving, stop here anyway just to enjoy the view. And if you're southbound into the park, consider it a preview. If you're northbound from the park, experience it a post-script of what you left behind.

Located on the east side of Highway 89 between Emigrant and Gardiner on the way to or from Yellowstone National Park. The roads are paved and the parking lot is level. The rest stop has clean restrooms and also has sectioned picnic tables in a nice roofed picnic area. They have a pet area too. The views are pretty and is located right along Yellowstone River. Saw some people fishing so you can do some fishing too while you are there! LoL There are slots for RV/trailer and truck parking. Open year round (some rest stops in MT are not). There is a historical marker on sight about the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness which is over a million acres of wilderness in a track of land covering portions of three states. Interesting read. Once we got further into the room we noticed that the room wasn't clean. There were stuff on the walls beds and surfaces, which looked to be bodily fluids. We called the front desk and basically was told there was nothing they could do but they would pass the complaint to a manager. So we headed to the store to buy our own cleaning supplies to clean the room. I went to the front desk to speak with the manager and was told they are unavailable but my number is written down to for them to call. I said ok fine, can we please get a housekeeper up to our room to clean it. They said of course it'll be cleaned today. The room wasn't clean never cleaned . Went back to the front desk and asked for the manager again and was told they weren't here but again would follow up with me when I get back. Asked why no one cleaned they said there was nothing requested. Left and tried to get some sleep. Woke up the next day went to the front desk to speak to manager again not available but would contact me. Asked again for the room to be cleaned and fresh towels and they assured me it would be cleaned came back and nothing was done. We left that hotel 5 days ago and I'm still unable to get any response from the management. If you stay at this hotel it would be the biggest mistake you've ever made.

They even provided me with some bear spray for my hike... apparently they had extra in the back from people leaving it behind, since you can't bring it on flights. I'm glad I stayed here during my visit, and I would choose it again!

This location is close to the highway only a few miles from the downtown area. You're away from the crowd but close enough if you need anything. The decor and ambiance is what you would expect, outdoorsy, wooden, chic, with a medium high end vibe. The rooms are nice with a small fridge, coffee bar area, a desk that I have used and needed many mornings and nights. The hotel staff is superb. The gym is better than most. Pool and Jacuzzi is always a nice touch. The free breakfast and coffee is always a good touch. I'll be back when I come back for work and for a vacation with my family.

Negative: they automatically seem to put a $15 parking charge without asking if you drove. Breakfast was 630-830am on weekdays. Not sure why they don't do it until the standard 9am. Breakfast is your standard fare, nothing special. Location: not downtown, not near the airport but halfway in between both and a fine location if you don't need to be in central Bozeman. Overall, it was a comfy and okay stay. Always good to have more options in Bozeman.
