Also sells an impressive range of dairy free milks including soy, almond and coconut, unfortunately yogurts and cheeses are all standard dairy. As is becoming the norm in most shops nowadays, there's a large in-store, self-service coffee counter and a Subway sandwich counter too. There are a couple of tables to sit-in at, but as this is also a petrol station most people stop to fill up their cars and just pickup stuff to takeaway.

You'll find it has most of the goodies, drinks, household items and magazines that you would expect it to have. In the past they have had a couple of thefts in the shop from some youths with nothing better to do and at the counter where you pay they have some pictures taken form CCTV footage of youths stealing. I used to enjoy jokingly enquiring every week how the investigation was progressing!!! At the end of the day, most of us need petrol. For me I like to pay as little as I can when i fill up.

It was en route to work at the time and seemed to have the best prices. A couple of years down the line it still has the best fuel prices and remains very busy. Likewise shop part is unchanging, just a limited selection of food and household items. You can always get a pint of milk in this one, but most certainly not anything healthy like fresh fruit or vegetables, but really, that's fair enough for a filling station first and foremost.

Always lots of very friendly staff available to assist should you require anything.

The fuel is as cheap as any of the other garages out there and you can be in and out in 5 minutes, plus it's 24 hour! The reason I used this service was because the other garage I go to was closed as it was after 11pm. The self service machines are easy to operate and while you're filling up your car the touch screen monitor plays a video explaining where your fuel was sourced from and how it got to you. I actually found this interesting - turns out Go provide the fuel for all of norther Ireland's buses and train so it must be good. There's loads of pumps so you won't have to wait and as previously stated the fuel is exactly the same price as the high street rivals (Tesco's, Asda etc). I can't think of a reason not to give Go five stars!

The shop provides you with all the things that you would expect from a local convenience store: an in store bakery, a hot food section, lottery and a wide range of goods. As part of the wider Shop4You brand, the store has good special offers that change regularly, and things here are not that much more expensive than the biggest supermarkets. There is also a surprisingly good range of all products in store, which is handy when you don't fancy a trip to the hustle and bustle of the largest shopping centres! The store also has petrol for when you need it, which is again more expensive than the bigger supermarket brands, but is always a convenient option if you aren't going past cheap petrol outlets. The forecourt is very large, with ample spce to park, though the exits are poorly labelled and cause regular confusion, so if they sort that they would have a good local convenience store experience!

The garage sells diesel, unleaded petrol and home heating oil at the pump. There is also a small shop at the garage and an ATM. The small shop doubles as a newsagents and a grocery store selling bread, snacks and dairy products. This filling station is really handy, especially if you're heading out of the city - there is rarely a queue to use the pumps although be warned the spacing is very tight.

Topaz would probably suffice, seeing as it's the only one I know of out this side of Belfast, and is therefore already slightly unique when it comes to the world of petrol stations... I once paid a visit to Topaz (as it will henceforth be known), not for petrol, but because I had to do an errand for my boss. When she initially told me to go up to the Beersbridge Road Post Office, I was ever so slightly confused. "Where's that?", asked I, thinking I'd never come across it before. "Aww, sure it's up in the petrol station!", came the reply, to which I swiftly retorted, "Behind it? Or do you mean actually in the petrol station?!" Well, the latter it was. How strange. A petrol station-cum-post-office. Hadn't come across one of them before. The staff were darn lovely too, but unfortunately I had to go elsewhere to do my errand, as it turned out they didn't do what I needed them to. Oopsies. Very handy little place though...

Then there's the post office inside which I often use. It covers most needs apart from renewing car tax discs. The most noteworthy occurrence was that the lady behind the counter gave me a hand to stick on stamps when I was in the midst of a monster mail out. That's full marks to the staff, who are consistently helpful. The Bank of Ireland cashpoint inside is another handy thing which has appeared since the branch closed down on the Newtownards Road. Altogether, it's a reliable and useful filling station though it doesn't yet have the embellishments that others have such as hot drinks and food.
